Hey Milo, I'm sorry to hear that, I'm currently myself fighting against this disease with PEP therapy, still a month to wait for my results. I suggest you to look into the clinical trials from American Gene Technologies they are currently in the phase where they stop ART treatment to see if their functional cure works. I really hope it works for all of us.

I hope he can make this work, but he seems pretty light on details. A good TED talk usually has some specifics. He explained how HIV works and what his goal is, but I don’t really see him describing a path to his goal. My guess, he needs funding and can use this TEDx talk to garner some. Promising promises. Let’s see how it plays out, but I’m not sure he’ll be the one to do it.

Even if the injection doesn’t get developed for a few years, a new approach to ART should come first being realistic that big pharm controls this domain. Maybe an injection that’s taken once a month instead of a pill that’s taken everyday ? A cure would be great but I think for now the focus is more on getting ART even more effective and more affordable to places like Africa
