Like how a chef can be super far into the making the elaborate dishes and can make them with ease. But have trouble making basic dishes. Because it's a whole other end of the spectrum they are no longer familiar with.

Lily has blossomed so much since the beginning. Even though she's always cooked so well, watching her on camera is awesome! I love the Mythical Kitcheneers and how much they infuse humor, knowledge and I'm sure flavor into every episode.

Chef Lily was the only one who confidently executed this simple recipe. You go, Lily!

Lilly you won't kill the scoby, as long as your hands are clean and you don't put hot water into the jar. Putting it in the fridge slows down the fermentation to almost a stop. It would have to be in the fridge for a while before it would kill it. The scoby babies at the bottom are dead so you can remove them so your brew tastes cleaner. The new scoby forms on top. You can peel old layers off your scoby too. If you continuously brew like me sometime in an ice tea jar made of glass with plastic spout, you should clear sedamat and old scoby often so it isn't clogging it up or making it taste too strong. Good job on your brew!! 😊

As someone who learned to cook from old southern ladies, if your mashed potatoes are too liquidy, in a pinch, you can cook them down on low ish heat for a while and they’ll thicken up. But honestly just don’t use milk. Lots of butter and little sour cream/ mayo is the way to go.
