Sir I think you interchanged Sparta and Athens while describing Thucydides. Athens was established power while Sparta was a rising power. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks

The Greek historian’s metaphor reminds us of the attendant dangers when a rising power rivals a ruling power-as Athens challenged Sparta in ancient Greece, or as Germany did Britain a century ago.

In the words of US academic and historian Niall Ferguson: "China's leader KNOW they don't need war...in order to surpass the United States"

World war III is inevitable, yet different in nature and trend. How? Good question, the emergence of AI (artificial intelligence) would shape how futuristic wars would be waged against each other. For example: cyber security encryption battle, which has already come into play. Trade wars can be branded as one. However, not covertly. One thing is for certain, the rise of one empire will prompt to down fall of an other. Interestingly, downfall is caused internally not externally.
