Can This Do It ALL?! Rotary Thread Damaged Repair Kit vs OTHERS

Can the Rotary Thread Damage Repair Kit repair all types of different threads? The kit comes with two diamond-impregnated discs with a 60-degree edge. Most all bolts, nuts, and even plumbing fittings have 60-degree threads, regardless of whether they are SAE, Metric, or tapered. So one tool may be able to do it all. We also compare the Rotary Thread against a Tap and Die and a Rethreading Kit. #tools #review #howto

The problem with thread chasers is the peaks aren't pointy enough and seem to take the damaged threat and mash it into the valleys making many "repaired" fasteners as useless as the damaged one. The Rotary Thread repair tool looks like it cleans the valleys out making the fastener almost as good as new. One very useful application would be for repairing CV axle shafts.

Neat tool. Definitely not the be all end all, but yet another tool to add to my thread repair tool arsenal.

Great job with the review. This is a niche tool that under the right circumstances can be a game changer if you have it in your tool box but by no means will replace all others. Some of my favorite tools are only used once a year but they can save the day and keep the project moving along. Keep up the great work!

Not bad in a pinch. Or maybe a spindle that’s huge and need to touch up a thread on in. Sweet

Does the angle work on this tool if the damaged threads are too far along the thread such that the chuck gets in the way?

I think this would be the ticket for the rear axle of a Harley with boogered threads at its end. Also on the fork cap with boogered threads at is end. The alternative is to replace. This would pay for itself used once for either of those.

Hey Tim I've noticed lately you seam to go off on these tangents and get side tracked from the point of the video, so maybe if you wrote a script or laid out what you wanna say that would help you stay on track and help shorten up the videos. Just wanna help. 💯 👍

Whats wrong with a threading die/tap or maybe a thread file? This piece of crap just f.... up the threads... And why would you grind away the undamaged part of the thread...?🫣
