Can the VStrom handle mud? Tanzania puts it to the test! /// VStrom Adventures

///DAY 195-198
We start of with a smooth border crossing from Rwanda to Tanzania, the topic is the road conditions and we soon get our first taste of the deep red dirt. The contrast with the lush green jungle is beautiful but a few hours of rain turns the road into a mudpit. Do we survive and how do the bikes handle?

    You are really a breath of fresh air, having done the same as you many years ago your gentle way of telling the stories of your travels means your followers have no idea of the almost impossible (to most) difficulties you overcome with such good humour and immense inner strength. One thing is for sure, your shared experiences mean you will be a very strong family unit all your lives as it did with my wife over the past 44 years! With absolute respect and very best wishes for the future.

    The answer that I looking for! There is a road like this in Brazil, in Amazon state, I want to ride some day, but longer, called 'ghost road' (BR 319). I was wondering if v-strom would be able to make it.

    Murram roads. These are hard like concrete when dry and amazingly high speed. When wet they turn into brick clay. Slimy and slippery and almost impossible to keep upright on.

    Nice video! Respect to you Nora, doing all this while pregnant. Must have been crazy exhausting I have some quastions : Did Jojo have handguards ? And why was it only his bike that got clogged up wheels ?

    It was ;) Yes, we had the stock (plastic) handguards on the bike. They are basically useless and probably broke in the first week of riding. Both of our bikes got clogged up wheels but I guess I was riding at a higher speed so it didn't stick as much. I really don't know why mine were less muddy then his. I cleaned out both the next morning before leaving.

    Nora thanks for that. Planning to go down the Western side of Africa hopefully next year, apart from Antarctica it’s the only continent I have not done on a bike. Hopefully you can get back to riding soon and maybe I will catch you on the road some day in the near future.

    The KZread algorithm is not working for you. I just saw your new video show up in my stream and under my subscriptions. When I looked at your page, I realized I had missed like 8 videos.

    Nice vlog, but I am a bit disappointed to the proportion between real images and looooooooooong talks. It would be great to see how you ride through the mud - yes I can imagine it was a struggle and filming would add to the effort, but we are here to "see" :))) Yet when we "see" the bikes they are mostly at stop. Can the VStrom handle mud? I haven't seen a bit of it. Giving thumb up anyway for the story and for sharing your experience. Hope my critics are constructive (I do not want in any way to be negative).

    You are forgetting we are in the middle of Africa, exhausted because I'm pregnant. While the GoPro is broken. It's a miracle I have any footage at all.

    @@Nora_adventurism Sorry did not know all those things - I was fast forwarding when the talk was too long so surely my bet I missed all that important info. Also, I must be spoiled by action-cam-bike-adventures, so I am impatient (not good) if things are just talk. Congrats for the baby! :)))

    You know what else an unarmed society can’t do, overthrow a corrupt dictator who mercilessly oppresses and slaughters his people! Thinking that taking firearms away will stop armed conflict is completely naive. If they don’t have firearms they will use machetes and be completely at the mercy of the government who does have weapons. Please keep the politics out of your videos and stick to motorcycles. Unsubscribing now!
