CAN THE MASSIVE SOLAR STORM HITTING EARTH SHUT US DOWN | SOLAR FLARES | CMEs

@mariumateeqofficial
The ongoing geomagnetic storm is expected to intensify later today, Sunday, May 12, 2024. Several intense Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), traveling from the Sun at speeds up to 1,200 miles per second, are anticipated to reach the Earth's outer atmosphere by late afternoon.1 day ago

Update: New solar flare, secondary peak in "Extreme" solar storm
These storms can impact various technologies, including satellite communications, power grids, and GPS navigation systems. Additionally, they pose potential risks to astronauts and airline passengers due to increased radiation exposure.
A solar storm is a disturbance on the Sun, releasing energy in the form of solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), or solar wind. When these charged particles reach Earth, they interact with the planet's magnetic field, potentially causing geomagnetic storms.
Intense solar activity, such as this sun flare in 2012, can disrupt the body's circadian rhythm, nervous system, heart rate and blood pressure. It can even contribute to social unrest if people get agitated.
This storm poses a risk for high-voltage transmission lines for power grids, not the electrical lines ordinarily found in people's homes, NOAA space weather forecaster Shawn Dahl told reporters. Satellites also could be affected, which in turn could disrupt navigation and communication services here on Earth.
And this storm cause a shower of spectacular celestial lights aruros seen at many places on the earth poles and beyond. This one is visible over whole if Northern Europe , UK USA and Russia
The Northern Lights, also known as the aurora borealis are caused by the CMEs released from the Sun, throwing out atoms with electric charges, called charged particles out into space. The lights appear when these charged particles hit gases in the Earth's atmosphere.
