And Judge Cannon is also a problem. She makes every concession to trump. I think she is hoping he will win in November and get rid of the case after he takes office so she is relieved of her duty. It's either that scenario or he is paying her off to slow walk the case. It's despicable.

If they’ve more cogent citations, sans personal opinions; perhaps I’d be less critical… Unsure. Please, neither of you ever feel alone, or unique in the pushback/poorly constructed rhetoric! I’m in N. Alabama and the day I heard the RNC was putting Donald Trump on the ticket I immediately cancelled my voters registration and registered later to vote Democratic. I don’t intend to ever vote republican again because it’s only gotten worse. I’m not thrilled with Biden but he’s been there fifty years and never tried to become a dictator. I’m not pleased that he’s a Zionist but so is the ‘other’ candidate. I don’t think the fact we’ve got two guys the age of these two candidates is an accident either when there are younger ppl who would be far more viable as the nations leader. Jill Stein is awesome and Gov. Andrew Cuomo would be much better leader than either Biden or Trump. If Trump had been arrested on Jan 6 for the traitor he is, like the others he incited were arrested. We likely wouldn’t have had to see or hear from him again. And certainly wouldn’t have to sweat over him being in office again as a traitor/felon/dictator who committed a COUP d’ Ata. Which Jan 6 was because weapons and death occurred it wasn’t just an insurrection. I’m not happy with the justice system right now dragging their feet and these corrupt judges both Aileen Canon and the SCOTUS. Something smells fishy and I know who it is. Y’all do know if he gets back in office, American Democracy is over for good! And that is very sad for the young ppl.

I noted the topic is “prickly,” yet when 1:3 women suffer miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, not fully expelled miscarriages, + 1:4 college-aged students experience at least one “acquaintance SA” episode, etc etc… We ALL know family/friends/colleagues who hv suffered, myself included, & that ignoring the national issues felt unwise-I was TOLD that CO protects these rights, so WHY bother to bring up… 🙆🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♀️ Some days I just ‘can’t,’ but a day or two later; back in the fight! There is an effort underway nationally. Look up the national popular vote interstate compact. In a nutshell, it's getting state legislators to agree to go with the popular vote and not the electoral college. They're looking for enough states to Total 270 electoral college votes. So far enough states have joined to put them at 205. Call your state representatives and tell them you want them to sign on to the compact if they haven't already.

Absolutely right, like a lot of things in the USA, the Electoral College is way out of date and should go. But think about it, the Republicans would actually have to come up with policy ideas that appeal to voters, not just have their only platform as re-elect the Orange Monstet

You can always tell an expert, comfortable in their knowledge base, when they can clearly explain the details in twenty minutes or sum it up in two, and the audience still walks away with more insight about the topic under discussion. Thank you both, and I will temper my disdain for what I see happening in our judiciary. (at least for now) Good call having her on, Marc. 💙😊💙😊

This process has been going on in plain sight since the last failed coup attempt. In 1940 orchestrated by fascist Germany. Check out Maddows podcast Ultra about it. Then it was laid out in 1971 in the Powell memo to the Chamber of. commerce. They have followed that plan. Taking power locally , in the states, in the governor level , legislation, and gerrymandering. Now they are rigging voting at the state levels . Using legislation to fight and restrict voting against the Democratic Party . That plan has been successful and the lock on the Republican states will be hard to break. But blame ourselves the main stream has ignored mostly because corporations own the media and they prefer republicans because of tax cuts. We all need to follow their path because it works. Don’t get mad get active.

Just off the cuff responding to the headline question - trump has demonstrated thus far the the justice system is inadequate to hold him accountable. I know how you feel. Up in the mountains of North Carolina where IQ isn’t exactly high and Meth addiction is rampant as is domestic abuse, Trump is popular, Fauci’s name can be heard in connection with “the jab”, the border invaders with Mexicans getting free apartments, food etc. Having been living in Mexico as expats for five years we know better and also know it’s ridiculous to think any illegals are getting free anything except maybe water. What we do notice however is we’ve only seen one political sign and it was for Kennedy. Gone are the Trump flags and yard signs but the rhetoric remains. However fear is also pervasive on both sides which did surprise me. So not all Trumpers are out for blood thankfully and honestly what they fear I’m not exactly clear on and I don’t think they are either. Conversations are cautious and in low tones in public. People are hesitant to outright show their choice like before it was more in your face. Everyone seems afraid of violence on both sides which maybe the thing that saves us from all out bloodshed and violence. I’m hoping that healthy fear of death keeps everyone a little saner after the election.

That is why understanding the Trump Agenda and Project 2025 are so important! Remember how Chris Christie blocked the Holland Tunnel for spite? It disrupted the supply chain for multiple states. Now imagine how Trump could weaponize every bureaucrat who wanted to keep his/her job, once Civil Service protections against political patronage are removed. Would Blue states suddenly lose air traffic controllers? Would state or Federal safety regulations violations be deliberately overlooked in a county depending on voting results? Just how long would it take before America became a 3rd World Country? The GOP is already pushing for elimination of child labor laws.
