I purchased one of these a few months ago after watching a different review. I also bought the Solarsaga 60 panels. When I received the E500, it was at 30%, I set up the solar panels and waited 7 hrs for it to hit 100% (70% in 7 hrs is okay with me). I run my CPAP with the heater off, and I can use it 3 to 4 nights (5 hrs on average per night). So if I run it 1 or 2 nights, then set it out to solar recharge, I am in good shape. If I get in a bind, I can charge it through my truck (It has an invertor for 120volt), or I can charge it by cable that I made with Anderson connectors and hook it to my truck battery. When I am at home, I plug into my shore or house power. I have never drained the E500, but I imagine it will charge pretty fast through the AC of my house. I am very happy with this product.

Yooooo J. Nice vid my brotha. I enjoyed it. You basically described me in the 3-4 day weekend getaways. And I do agree that it would be nice to have a 110 plug in for something. But honestly, all I use is a battery powered radio, my cellphone, and a battery fan. But having the large Jackery I can expand to plug in device if needed. Also, I think people need to understand that the PRIME way to get max use out of the Jack is to fully charge it with 110 at home prior to going on your trip and using even an 80 watt solar panel as a way to keep it “topped off”. Oh shit bro, just watched the end of your vid and noticed that you said basically what I did. My bad bro. 👍🏾

I just got my Jackery 500 and running an Alpicool C20 compressor car refrigerator. When the fridge starts up there is a 48 Watts draw which settles down to about 37 Watts or so. Awesome review. I’m going to sub. But I wanted to just update those who might not know. The Jackery 500 in this video is not the latest generation. You can tell by the logo at the top right it is the unit. The newer version of the Jackery 500 features an MPPT charge controller and not the cheaper and less efficient PWM controller. Which means the MPPT version charges about 30-60% more efficiently on the same solar panel compared to the older model. I’m sure my comment could have been worded better, Im no expert lol.

@@HeartInspections Hi Brenda... I use a Resmed Air10 and there is an excellent handout all about using batteries for their devices. They recommend a "Converter" (DC to DC) rather than an "Inverter"... they can explain it all better than me... www.resmed.com/us/dam/documents/articles/198103_battery-guide_glo_eng.pdf . There is no one-answer-fits-all because the pressure of your unit and other factors contribute to power use. If you don't have a Resmed device then check your manufacturer for their specific recommendations. The reason I didn't use my humidifier was I wanted to see how long I could stretch it out without a recharge... I figured 7 days was good enough for me so I stopped the test. I think I could have gone another 2 or 3 days.

If you get the DC power cord for your CPAP machine it will use much less power, about one-third as much power as running through the AC inverter. I have a jackery 240. I do not run the humidifier or the heater on my CPAP. 9 hours on CPAP only takes it down by 35%. Recharging Jackery 240 with my own 100 watt panel only takes about 2 hours. I have also been using a couple of different branded 500-watt our power stations. I can run my Dometic 35W for about twelve hours on either of the 500WH power stations that I have tried. I have never drained any of the power stations down below 20% and I have never had a problem getting back to full charge with my 100 watt panel. longest I ever had to charge it was about seven hours of sunlight.

I bought the 440 which won’t charge from Jackery’s solar panel. Wish I had known they were coming out with the 500 also...sure wish they had waited...440 useless unless you drive a lot.

You have to size your power station for your needs. We have an SUV camper with refrigerator, Maxx fan, electric kettle for making coffee, and a 700 watt toaster oven we use once in a while. Plus our computers and cell phones. We have a 1000 watt VTOman and recharge it as we drive (keeps it from running down as fast). We usually aren't out more than 3-4 days before we can plug it in to shore power, and it suits us fine.

Great info. I use a CPAP that ramps up to 15 once I enter REM. Does the batteries in this machine loose some its capability in the cold.

One thing I noticed about the Jackery is that the input wattage is not always accurate unfortunately. Mine was doing the same thing yours was doing but worse (it was stuck at 0 watts input after any kind of shadow got casted on it). I am doing an RMA and they honored their warranty. Still a great product though... also mine had an issue where the battery was stuck at 100% and required a hard reset to show accurate battery percentage

I want to put as much solar on my roof van as will fit, enough for a decent sized refrigerator/freezer and a fantastic fan. I'm thinking one of these will be good for a fan, TV, anything I would only use occasionally, but could afford to do without if it's raining, etc. Extra cost, but probably worth it for a few extra comforts.

@@enigmaticnomadics LOL, I already have a few PS. I am giving one to my borther so I'll have two left. Just bought some solar panels for the Bluetti AC 180. ALl these Power Stations are on sale right now. I did see the VTOMAN Jump 1800 Portable 1548WH on sale for $599 so recommending it to a friend.

2.4 amps at 12v = 29 watts. The Jackery 500 is about 440 watt hours useable. Therefore, you could run that fun on high for about....440/29 = 15 hours.

My CPAP with humidifier and heated hose will use 70% of the power from my Jackery 500 running on the 110V AC outlet. But, I bought a 12V DC connector for my CPAP and it only used 14%.

Thanks for super helpful video. I’m trying to calculate the fan hours. At full power, 12V x 2.4A = 29W. 500WHr / 29W = 17Hr. At the lower 0.3A setting, I think it works out to 139Hr. Did I make a mistake? Because it sounds pretty reasonable. With the solar panel attached at the same time, it would be even much longer, which might work out pretty good.

If you use it for the CPAP, get the 12v converter and not use the AC-DC power brick. You’ll get a lot more use out of it. My CPAP takes a regulated 24v input. I bought on Amazon a compatible 12v-24v converter and uses a lot less energy

Sure, just remember that by the time the lithium ion wears out, you’d probably have stuff break on it anyway and whatever you had would be a technology dinosaur. These things improve every single year. Lithium ion is in our cellphones and cordless power tools. Food for thought.
