    Thanks for all the help. My sister had bought 2 because they stopped working. Of course she never added oil. So with some force. One needed a screwdriver to pry apart and the other screwdriver and hammer to come apart. But I got all the rust cleaned out and sprayed wd40. They both work like they should now. Thank you for this video. Saved her some money.

    This is the only video that showed how to get the nozzle assembly out of the unit. The directions simply say "pull out the Nozzle assembly." It takes a mighty pull. For me I needed to find a nut to attach to the threads and then I used a pair of pliers to yank it out. My recommendation is to be sure to clean it thoroughly like in this video. My first day with this sprayer went well. It saved me tons of time.

    I have a very similar model. The Long snout is made to bend up so you can paint ceilings without tilting the sprayer and sucking air. I have latex paint that was way too thick. I spoke with paint manufacture who recommended the bigger $1500 pro airless setup for the thicker paints. I had the same kind of problems you had. I think maybe the bottle seal is too good so the tank slowly develops a vacuum As it empties. I’m still painting so I’ll post any discoveries.

I had problems spraying latex at times if not properly thinned which is the same problems i saw you having that i encountered. But for $20, you can't beat it and saves you a lot of time.

    I also faced this problem. I removed only the nozzle and and pulled the trigger just a couple of times with gun tilted upwards(let the white plastic part dance there). And then tighten the the nozzle back. It is probably because the nozzle has to be in the right spot not to tight or loose but the first step seems to clean and relieve any pressure on motor and piston assembly. So I usually do both the steps in order.

    The viscosity of latex paint is pretty thick. Instead of water try a latex conditioner. When latex gets atomized it dries. We have the same issues with pro equipment but we have reversible tips to clean it out. Also switching to the biggest possible atomizer could help. Just my experience.

    You may not have been finding anything in the sprayer as you were cleaning it, but it’s possible there were small clumps in the paint. Not everyone knows paint is a powder mixed with a liquid be it water or oil, but as it sits on the shelf it can separate or if it isn’t mixed up good enough during manufacturing or the tinting process when put in the shaker it can have clumps of paint that feel almost like skin left in it. We like to call those clumps boogers. When you added water to your can it may have knocked some loose. A good way to make sure you don’t have any boogers in your paint is to run it through cheese cloth and ring it out or a fine mess strainer.

The one time I did use it it worked alright, once in awhile it would shoot a big glob out. It's been in storage but I'm painting a shed tomorrow hoping it will save some time. I didn't even know they came apart like that & I didn't know to thin the paint down. I have a gun cleaning kit with the brushes and oil so may use that to clean it. I know white lithium grease is excellent for O-rings maybe that might help it work smoother. I tried it out with water and it does still work so going to give it a shot tomorrow. Thumbs up the vid

    I had to add 2 to 1 paint to water ratio and mix by hand for like 20 min and left valve control opened up to max , i left mine sitting multiple times for an hour and had no clogs between coats.. painting moulding and base board casings ... used just the needle to clean the 3 spray holes its a champ!!! Hair clipper oil from petsmart worked best for me.

    Do you think that you might have been running into issues because when you were doing the top parts of the shed and holding the sprayer up it was working against gravity?

    Thank you for this video, I guess the model I have is a bit different it doesn’t come apart, it says to just fill with soap and water and spray it out and then again with just water to clean it! Well I guess I’ll see if it works , wish me luck!

    you have more patience than I probably would. I think it would have landed in the woods then I would have went and just rented one. LOL. YOu think it was a burr or lubricant? Also, could you have used the extension to help on the tall wall of the shed? Which tip would you use for stain? The red or black one or purchase a different one? Thanks. Great video.

    Nice!! I'm buying one today to paint the mud room, wonder if CLP gun oil will make the piston run better?

  • @mrmbidzo
    @mrmbidzo5 жыл бұрын

    Could it be that the reason it was not spraying right was because the paint gun was tipped in an angle. Since it was in an angle the paint would also tip and the suction tube would have a hard time sucking the paint because it's concentrated in one area away from the suction tube. It looks like you have to hold the paint gun at one straight and flat level

    Every time my valve hangs I can unscrew the reservoir then reinstall and it'll work great for a few minutes. I actually painted an 8 stall two story barn with it. It wasn't ideal but 100x better than a roller and probably 100x worse than a pro sprayer

  • @AChi__

    @AChi__

    Жыл бұрын

    I wonder if it stall is due to buildup of negative pressure inside the tank resulting from sufficient air not entering the paint tank during spraying. You unscrewing the tank and rescrewing it automatically eliminated the negative pressure and therefore made it possible for you to continue painting again

  • @amerlin388

    Thanks for the video. There's a rather cryptic section in the operating instructions... Note: When inserting the Spray Tip, if you turn it in a clockwise position, the spray pattern will be wide with fine atomization. If you turn it in a counterclockwise direction, the pattern will narrow and result in less atomization. I have no idea what that means, there's a clearly separate set of instructions for the Regulator adjustment. Any thoughts? BTW, I think I bought mine years ago for $14 and set it on a shelf. I figured for $14 there's no big loss if I can't clean it well enough for a 2nd big job. I will finally use it this afternoon...

    Lets face it you get what you pay for (hopefully) I bought tbis sprayer to spray some kitchen cabs. Worked good for the backs. You need to keep it clise to full or it will spit all over your work when its down to about a third full. Fine I can deal with that. Started to spray the fronts couple days after backs. Into the 2nd coat starts making a sound like its not opening up when trigger is emgaged. Wont even spray waterand there is no clog. Working on it now to see if I can get the job or not. If you want the feeling of confidence in a sprayer and need to use it more than one time. You may want to consider one that is a better quality. I have shopped Harbor Freight many times so I know what the possible outcomes can be. I threw the $25 ip and spun the wheel hoping to.put off buying a more expensive sprayer but that may be a needed purchase in the near futureas I gave this one the benefit of the doubt based on reviews. Never did I think it would last very long just hoped to get through this and then it would have served its purpose. If it does I will update. If not then I will return it pay the 20% restocking fee and cut my loses. It was a price that I could afford to gamble but I have paid in my time since Im not done and may have added a day in messing with it and possibly having to return with a different bv sprayer. No big deal. No surprise you get what ypu paid for . This is not meant to be a bad review just sharing my experience if that helps someone geat.
