Can The Card Game LEGEND Rate Marvel SNAP Cards?! - He's Never Seen Them Before!
Ойындар
My guest today is Savjz, a card game pro for more than a decade now. He's been everything from a top-tier Hearthstone streamer to a member of the Magic Pro League, and now he's Rank 1 on the Lorcana ladder. He has more experience than basically any other card gamer on the planet - so what will he do when confronted with SNAP cards?
Note: He can see my screen, which is how he sees the cards, but not my face - I'm not giving anything away by reacting early.

Hey buddy. Always good to run into you anywhere online. Stay awesome dude.
8:33 My favorite moment in this series is Bryan Gottlieb NAILING the Loki assesment down to the play patterns, particularly because most people (This is me, I am people) thought Loki would be mid as hell. But watching someone get to the core of why a card is good or bad and thinking about what skills they had that let them see what others couldn't is (at least for me) the fun part of this series.

that rocked. he said he could do it because unlike everyone else, he came in with the mindset of "they can and will totally make something like that broken"

Yeah I think a big part of whats fun is watching folks who are good at evaluating cards... fall for the same traps we all do... emphasizing the idea that really how good a card is requires testing to suss out. It's also fun when they spout off a spot on evaluation without playing with it. So its fun no matter which way the wind blows.
The thing with Howard the duck is that snap is only 6 turns long and the decks are really small so his ability tends to be irrelevant but coming from a magic background in that game it would be really good bc the games don’t have a set length and deck size is 5 times as large. So it’s interesting seeing how cards are good or bad just depending on what game we’re talking about Also great seeing Savjz again this video was really fun
Bro had to clarify what “tapping the duck” means

IT CAME UP BEFORE
Savjz got some of them wrong because he was looking at them as Hearthstone cards. Which is understandable. I love him 😂❤
Please try to get Fry Em Up for the series. He's the most well known player of PVZ Heroes. He tried the game once on lunch so he knows the basics of the game

Yet another banger episode. It was so funny seeing/hearing Savjz get the perfect or near perfect analysis multiple times and then missing the final verdict lmao. And yes, as you mentioned it definitely is a bit of indulgence in schadenfreude seeing someone touted as a card game "genius" with multiple titles under their belt missing evaluations which you know the answers to.
One thing I don't see mentioned that much is most decks that play gladiator play Shang chi so sometimes you can get away with it pulling something it can't destroy
I love these videos as a fun thought experiment! I get enjoyment from putting myself in their headspace, as a lover and player of all cars games, and try to guess what they feel is good or not. Then hearing each players rational and perspective after getting roasted is very satisfying. Keep making great competitive SNAP content!
50:00 "This can go 'MULTIPLE" ways" C'mon KM, you can do "best"
Savjz was one of my top Hearthstone guys, Always wonderful when I get to see him anywhere. Also he looks soo close to pictures of my dad from the 70's sometimes it freaks me out.

One thing that watching these videos really impressed upon me is how much the lack of minion combat and player life totals impacts design space in marvel snap vs other card games. It really devalues 1 drops etc (tempo), especially with such a small deck size
This is probably your best series, always interesting seeing what seems good or bad to people with very little context
I can't believe I missed Savjz was playing Marvel Snap when I got started, oh well, fun to see!
I think the good part of this show is going through a learn the thought process on why a card is good or bad. If someone has an insight that is contrary, it might be a line of thought we haven't thought about and might be something the community has generally over looked.
21:59 Shoutout to Olivia for rewritting Howard's text (and bringing it up directly with Ben Brode lol)
easily my favorite Snap series. another great vidja
Good to see Savjz, I've been following him in the earlier years of hearthstone until I stopped playing HS.
49:58 "[Phoenix Force] can go multiple ways" I see what you did there.
What i love about this series is that I get to see how a card would work in a different card game and get to understand what makes Marvel Snap so incredibly unique. This is S tier content for sure. Thanks KM.
Had the logic on Hope right but moving her was the wrong direction
the gladiator analysis was amazing 😂
Genuinely love this series. Also KM i feel like joshua schmidt (current yugioh master duel world Champion) would be a perfect candidate for one of the future episodes, for a number of reasons. Really hope you manage to get him on one day!
What if Howard let you see a random card from your opponent's hand
@PenitusVox
3 ай бұрын
I don't think he'd see play still. You generally know what's in your opponent's deck from turn 1 or 2. You'd still have to assume they have Shang, for example, even if Howard didn't show it.
I don’t think it’s necessarily we like seeing pros be wrong I think it’s just interesting to hear their take on a card when they don’t play the game
Oooo one of my favorite series
I understand for simplicity's sake describing Jeff as 2 drop Nightcrawler...... But you take that back right now, sir
My favorite snap series returns
One of the funniest things about this series is how the thumbnails usually aren't clickbait. I didn't expect it to be so simple as Black Swan good Hope summers bad but that's exactly what happened. I just enjoy hearing a fresh perspective and if they're wrong it's funny but if they're right it's really cool. There's no downside
For me the point of the video is to see the top players be wrong but its also really nice when they nail something they had no or very little context on. Think, Lebron hitting a hole in one in golf or Mike Tyson hitting a half court shot. Either way I appreciate the guests you get on this series.
56:41 surprised they didn’t mention that being able to move to some inaccessible locations is a nice benefit
What I like from this show is when the guest properly breaks down the nuisances of a deck. For example when he said that discard doesn't really need the extra energy. Basically the thought process. Good players are generally good across games not cuz they're the best but because their thought process is there.
Savjz!!!! Havent seen this legend since my Hearthstone days.
So Havok might still not be a good card overall, but the fact that he's already in one of the top (untapped) decks so soon after this video is kinda funny
This guy is pretty good at guessing launch perceptions
I didn't know Savjz played in Pixelborn now, that's pretty cool.
24:07 Is Howard the new Martyr of this series? 😅
i would laugh pretty hard if it ended with nononononono!. but alas. fun video
The legend indeed also, dont ever change KM you're fantastic.
Great guest amazing reading skill with almost no info about the game 😎😎. For a few bonus cards, you should ask the guest a fav hero/villains of marvel universe and show the card and rate it 😋
Snap is my first TCG…I’m 40. This series isn’t valuable because I can gloat. It’s valuable because every time a pro gets something wrong, I learn more and more about how little I know about this game. They are “wrong” in such enlightening ways, and I appreciate the effort you put in to teaching your audience.
KM where can i get a hold of those 1985 vintage head set? ❤😂
Personally I enjoy watching this types of videos to know how good some random cards are, and specially when you try to brainstorm with the guest how you would buff bad cards
Just dropping my two cents. I do not care about trying to trick people, more fun to hear them work it out. And I I Like Good...Bad...or Ok as options. But it's your show do whatever you want
I’m still so pissed I spent 6000 tokens on War Machine right before your video on him came out, first time I spent 6000 tokens on something
I'm surprised KM didn't use Loki on this one lol. Love these vids as usual!

Of course GrandMaster can fit into the curve of a Shuri deck, it's just not worth it because the meta has found better things to do 😅 You could play Shuri on 4, Red Skull on 5, then Thyphoid in the middle and GM on the Shuri lane on 6. With Hope, both cards that get Shuri-ed can be of a higher cost, but that still doesn't seem like the best points dump you can be doing, compared to some combo decks and even Destroy when it gets a nut draw / curve
Idea for name of the show “Blind Rating” (play on blind dating)

Now how good would Howard be if he could scry once per turn (thats probably busted) or was an On Reveal scry?
