Can The Card Game LEGEND Rate Marvel SNAP Cards?! - He's Never Seen Them Before!

Ойындар

My guest today is Savjz, a card game pro for more than a decade now. He's been everything from a top-tier Hearthstone streamer to a member of the Magic Pro League, and now he's Rank 1 on the Lorcana ladder. He has more experience than basically any other card gamer on the planet - so what will he do when confronted with SNAP cards?
Note: He can see my screen, which is how he sees the cards, but not my face - I'm not giving anything away by reacting early.

8:33 My favorite moment in this series is Bryan Gottlieb NAILING the Loki assesment down to the play patterns, particularly because most people (This is me, I am people) thought Loki would be mid as hell. But watching someone get to the core of why a card is good or bad and thinking about what skills they had that let them see what others couldn't is (at least for me) the fun part of this series.

Yeah I think a big part of whats fun is watching folks who are good at evaluating cards... fall for the same traps we all do... emphasizing the idea that really how good a card is requires testing to suss out. It's also fun when they spout off a spot on evaluation without playing with it. So its fun no matter which way the wind blows.

The thing with Howard the duck is that snap is only 6 turns long and the decks are really small so his ability tends to be irrelevant but coming from a magic background in that game it would be really good bc the games don’t have a set length and deck size is 5 times as large. So it’s interesting seeing how cards are good or bad just depending on what game we’re talking about Also great seeing Savjz again this video was really fun

Yet another banger episode. It was so funny seeing/hearing Savjz get the perfect or near perfect analysis multiple times and then missing the final verdict lmao. And yes, as you mentioned it definitely is a bit of indulgence in schadenfreude seeing someone touted as a card game "genius" with multiple titles under their belt missing evaluations which you know the answers to.

I love these videos as a fun thought experiment! I get enjoyment from putting myself in their headspace, as a lover and player of all cars games, and try to guess what they feel is good or not. Then hearing each players rational and perspective after getting roasted is very satisfying. Keep making great competitive SNAP content!

I think the good part of this show is going through a learn the thought process on why a card is good or bad. If someone has an insight that is contrary, it might be a line of thought we haven't thought about and might be something the community has generally over looked.

I don't think he'd see play still. You generally know what's in your opponent's deck from turn 1 or 2. You'd still have to assume they have Shang, for example, even if Howard didn't show it.

One of the funniest things about this series is how the thumbnails usually aren't clickbait. I didn't expect it to be so simple as Black Swan good Hope summers bad but that's exactly what happened. I just enjoy hearing a fresh perspective and if they're wrong it's funny but if they're right it's really cool. There's no downside

For me the point of the video is to see the top players be wrong but its also really nice when they nail something they had no or very little context on. Think, Lebron hitting a hole in one in golf or Mike Tyson hitting a half court shot. Either way I appreciate the guests you get on this series.

What I like from this show is when the guest properly breaks down the nuisances of a deck. For example when he said that discard doesn't really need the extra energy. Basically the thought process. Good players are generally good across games not cuz they're the best but because their thought process is there.

Snap is my first TCG…I’m 40. This series isn’t valuable because I can gloat. It’s valuable because every time a pro gets something wrong, I learn more and more about how little I know about this game. They are “wrong” in such enlightening ways, and I appreciate the effort you put in to teaching your audience.

Of course GrandMaster can fit into the curve of a Shuri deck, it's just not worth it because the meta has found better things to do 😅 You could play Shuri on 4, Red Skull on 5, then Thyphoid in the middle and GM on the Shuri lane on 6. With Hope, both cards that get Shuri-ed can be of a higher cost, but that still doesn't seem like the best points dump you can be doing, compared to some combo decks and even Destroy when it gets a nut draw / curve
