Can't Wear a Seatbelt, The Judge is Never Wrong, Liberian Pride

Ойын-сауық

The Judge meets a motorist with a disease that won't allow her to wear a seat belt, an overnight violation tests whether the Judge makes mistakes, and a man is proud of his heritage. #caughtinprovidence #judgecaprio #seatbelts #liberia

Jokes aside, this how one should always behave in a court. Always. You may not agree with what the judge says, but that’s what appeals are for. But right there, in a court room, when you’re presenting your case and your side of the story, until such time that a plea is made, you remain respectful, and accept that you’re not the only human being there. You’re not the only one who makes mistakes. Did you notice the judge making a mistake? Remain calm, stay respectful, be polite. You have every right to request a review, and appeal the decision and resume the hearing on another date. Yes, there are judges who are dicks, but fighting with them and losing your temper is not the way to convince them to change their mind. You do that, and unfortunately the judge will have to follow rules, too. And they will not hesitate to add contempt of the court to the list of charges and that’s basically game over for you, innocent or not.

Probably because there's no one to drive for her, take care of her, and allow her to enjoy the independence she still has left, for as long as she has it. I work with disabled people of all ages - losing what little independence they have, they'll fight you tooth and nail for. It's all they've got, it's what keeps them going. Some of them volunteer, using what little ability they have left to help others. Others have families that live distant from them, but try to be good neighbors and citizens. Others are very lonesome, and need constant reassurance that they're still people of value. Every human life is important. Now, if she was bat-eye blind, and completely insane, that'd be a different story.

@Dominic Hutchison You aren't the only one at risk if you don't wear a seat belt. In a high-speed crash or something like that your loose body in the car becomes a projectile and can move quite rapidly inside the car, hitting HARD anything in the way, even other passengers and the driver. (small objects that are transported in the backseats or beside you also have that effect.)
