Maggie's breath control is amazing! This hard driving song is nonstop and you can't see her take a breath.

I don't get embarrassed I come back many times to hear the best music ever recorded. It just doesn't get any better than this.

RIP Mary Wilson

After a serious auto accident last February, I listened to this song and I Can't Let Go as part of a mix every day as I learned to walk again at 68. Hours and hours on a stationary bike in physical therapy for 12 weeks, every day. Thanks kids for helping me get through a trying time in my life.

I come back to this cover time and time again. I remember when this was popular with Dianna Ross and the Supremes in the early 60's but the Foxes do a "supreme" job. Thanks.

R.I.P. Scott (Bass Player) These folks are THE BEST COVER BAND EVER!! THAT'S from a "Life-long Musician (Guitar & Voice) & self-professed Audiophile who GREW UP in Motown (Detroit) in the 60's when these songs were NEW! WOW. I was IN Detroit as a young boy when "Diana Ross & the "Supah Supremes" had this hit NEW on radio. Like this just as much! ❤❤‍🩹💔💯🥰😍🤩

I never really analyzed the song. Just listened to its sweet goodness. Though I have to say, I am partial to having Maggie as the lead vocalist. Most of the time. Not that she's better than Sammie. Its just a matter of opinion. Chase is good, but in my opinion, meh.

She dares to sing Diana Ross song! And then she nails it. Perfection is magic.

If a cover can ever be better than an original THIS would be an example.... Especially the lead. I could listen to this band for hours.

I’m not sure what I’m hearing, but the blonde girls voice was coming out a little, harsh.. I can’t explain it, I think it was the auto tech. They are very good but not with that mix

@ronmarvicsin7709 What you're hearing is bad quality on the recording end. It was a live outdoor performance probably recorded on a cheap camera setup. You have to look.... well... I guess hear past that and grab the essence of it.

Maggie and Sammie, they made a great voice duet!! (and cheers to the band, of course!!)

I think that's Amy Wallace saying "Yeah!" at 3:10. For those unfamiliar, she was the lead singer of the Mustangs, and later that afternoon, would sing "Roll With It" with Scott King, and background on "Walking In Memphis", both videos on this channel. Five months after this day, she would connect Chase Truran with the band, and the rest is history.

Sammie has that high register that makes her harmonies fit just right into everything she does!

This has always been my favorite F&F song. I wish Maggie could do some more like this.

@redwing detroit same here.. this is my goto F&F tune. Maggie is a great singer anyway, but she is absolutely outstanding here. The way she carries herself and the confidence she has performing with her gestures etc, along with her actual ability is off the scale.

Scott King playing a James Jamerson bass line. So good. I miss BOTH those guys.

Her voice makes me feel like I'm on vacation from all world's troubles

They cleared another Million views! True talent stands the test of time. It still amazes me that they continue to "nail" songs that were recorded decades before these girls were born.

Foxes and Fossils are a breath of fresh air in the troubled times we live in. LOVE listening to these guys!

This is the kind of thing that Makes America Great! Whenever the conflict, rancor and foolishness that seems to reign in America nowadays gets to be too much, I indulge in one of these videos.

I love how clean and simple the vocals are. They aren't over produced or showing off. Just pure talent.

The Fendertones are excellent, but they are not a cover band. They are a Beach Boys “tribute” band. Tribute bands focus on the music of one band. Cover bands play a wide variety of music. Also, while Foxes and Fossils typically have six band members on stage, The Fendertones will have as many as seventeen singers/musicians on stage so they can recreate the Beach Boys multi-track studio recordings.

Anything this band decides to cover is so good. Scott (bass) and Johnnie (drums) are the foundation.

She's got 'gears'........just when you think she's at the top of her range, she comes up with another 'gear' and nails the notes. Very impressive singer. Check out the new Beach Boy tune she does (released in Aug).

The Phil Collins version is more soulful and edgy. This is a very good performance.

While all the vocalists are very talented in this group , it is Maggie who speaks to my soul. Her voice is magical. Sammie is a huge talent as is Chase and Tim All the performers are a joy to listen to. 👍👍

Second vocal of high tone is also amazing.

Whenever I need cheering up I listen to this band…they are awesome 👍🇬🇧

I have to say I like this version better than The Supremes version. These young ladies do it real justice: Maggie's fantastic soulful lead vocals and Sammie's great harmony. The musicians do a great backup without drowning the vocals like many bands do today. I give it a 10 plus. Thank you for sharing your talent Foxes and Fossils.

No doubt. Anyone watching a live performance could see the talent in this group.

I cannot get over the excellence here. Its as if we are watching a single mix of every super group do every song you ever wanted to hear again performed in one place. The musicianship is outstanding, but the vocals, the harmonies ....I can't find enough superlatives to describe how good they are. And all together, its sheer perfection and joy.

I think they will both look back on these years and have great memories of what they did in the world of music. The band is just so together, the musicians, singers, and Tim the magician who keeps it all together. I hope that someday before my life is over that I can see them in-person. I'm 74 so time is not on my side.

@@jamesottaway3212 My names from a quiz show i really liked when I was a teenager called Shooting Stars with vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. One of the rounds they'd call a giant prop dove down which would have words on that would get picked then a question would be read out.

Honestly - I hav never seen anyone ever try to cover this. And then THIS! Somehow, for so many reasons, because only we could do this - Happy Birthday America! No good people, ever said that even in our differneces were we less than cousins.

Maggies voice is at its very very best (last verse) . Tim there must be other stuff you filmed that day … it should be out there even if it’s repeats of songs you’ve already put out. Maggies voice deserves it.

I am a total Maggie fan. But her (and the bands) version of Tom Petty's "American Girl", at the taco joint, is my favorite of all the F&F songs.
