She is 18 here. The first guy, his wife is a world-renowned Soprano and I can't remember her name to save my life. But for him to say such things they know how special she is. You two need to find her about her first years of being alive. I think at one time her mother either tried to set her on fire as toddler, or tried to choke her to death. Then she was left on the street in the dead of winter and finally was put in an orphanage. I might not be correct with the specifics but the level of abuse was staggering. Then to come out the other end as a cheerful human being is remarkable to me. Diana has a regular singing voice which is very lovely, but it is her back of the throat that is hers alone. When many people heard her for the first time, she was a 13-14 year old kid. Then, some of the older generation were like, "Yeah, she'll be maybe the new Amanda Lear, she'll be interesting with her low voice, but in time it will go down in history. Diana, however, began to juggle with the octaves, gifting us with a dozen different voices and above all with her unique polyphony and clearly distinguishable overtones. Adding the huge soul, bright character, kindness, artistry and talent of a creator of poems and music, it is logical to have a planetary Dianomania. It will not be a temporary phenomenon! A new style, new standards, new understandings of the audience and an upcoming conquest of the musical heights.

Ah - you've found the wonderful unique Diana! She is a rare Contralto voice (the lowest fm register) but can go a lot higher - as you heard. She also has what some describe as a Polyphonic (doubled - or more!) tone. The guy who stood up was a judge on this show, and is a very well known Russian opera singer. He was very much intent on advising her to get the best possible vocal training in order to protect and extend properly this unique voice. Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to write for Dimash's voice, who was a judge where she performed her cover of 'Wicked Game', has also recognised the need to mentor this talent and he made sure that she and her family could move to access the best vocal academy. Diana is now 19 and is continuing her vocal and musical studies and exploring across a number of genres and also composing some of her own music. . This IS a career to watch. Welcome to the world of Diana Ankudinova! For you and all those in your audience that may or may not know, this performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was only 18 years old, and she was the final performer during this first season of a new Russian vocal competition called the ShowMaskGoOn. Diana Ankudinova’s cover of the Elvis Presley classic Can't Help Falling In Love, demonstrates Diana Ankudinova has developed into what many vocal professionals are saying is a true contralto voice type and a contralto is the lowest female voice and is very, very rare. Now, the vocal range helps in defining a female singer's voice type, and in 2017, at 13, Dianas' vocal range measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, which is good for a 13-year-old girl. Diana has said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and this lack kept her out of the more prestigious music academies. Diana, along with her vocal teacher decided to work extensively on developing a higher vocal range. In September of 2021, at age 18, her vocal range was again measured during this performance. Now her functional vocal range goes from a low of C3 to a high of Bb5, almost 3-octaves. During this performance, her upper range improvement is now on full display for all to hear. It is not just about how low she can go, it is the exceptional quality of her tone in her lower range. It is in the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice, plus her ability to access, and use an enormous amount of resonance. Dianas' ability to use this resonance helps to further define Diana as a dramatic contralto, the rarest of the rare contralto voice types, and a dramatic contralto is the deepest, darkest, most powerful contralto voice type. At the beginning of this performance, you hear her deep contralto sound. Near the end of this performance, the power of her dramatic contralto voice is on full display for all to hear. The question people ask? How does Diana do it? How can such a young female singer achieve these low, rich, deep, profound sounds? Her larynx appears to be larger and with her voice teacher, she has learned to lower her larynx, helping her achieve lower sounds. Her pharynx similarly looks to be longer than the majority of female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity. When you combine all these unique vocal anatomy highlights, it gives Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sound she is known for. But without actually scoping her vocal track to verify, there is no way to be 100% sure. Diana is also a master at using a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing, an extraordinary accomplishment for someone so young. A singer that has mastered this polyphonic singing technique can create one and up to two different tones at the same time which adds to the harmonic overtones and undertones that can make it sound like more than one voice singing. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. She's 19 now, 18 here. 15 for Wicked Game, 14 for Rechenka, from "You Are Super" competition for abused / underprivileged children, largely underwritten by Igor Krutoy, famous Russian composer who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor later bought an apartment in Moscow for Diana's family and secured a spot at university to continue high-level training. Rechenka (little river) is comprised of Russian folk tales about an orphan who is being given away in marriage to the unloved, and who comes to the rive,r border between the living and the dead, to ask blessings from her deceased mother. More poignant considering Diana's backstory: beaten and abused by her birth mother, abandoned at a bus stop in winter with a broken collarbone, brought to an orphanage speechless at 3, took singing lessons as speech therapy, and adopted by a loving family. Sang and performed as a child, and twice won "You Are Super." Amazing what love and music can do. Great rxn. Going to rewatch 'cause I've been typing this out since the song concluded. See you soon.

You actually pronounced her last name correctly most people can not even say it so congratulations, her first name rhymes with Rihanna but with a D instead of an R. Diana is a true power house her extreme voice will nail you to the wall every time you hear her so i suggest to continue listening to her, she is so diverse too she has sang every genre of music there is except maybe metal. She was 18 years old when she sang can't help falling in love (19 years old currently).

Thank you for pronouncing her name (almost) perfectly. Her last name is especially difficult for us native English-speakers, and many reactors don't even try to get her name right. Diana's first name, though, is pronounced Dee-AHN-ah.

Thank you for your honest reaction. ( i think is pronounced Dee-anna, was 18 for this amazing performance.) Diana, singing 'Rechenka' is one of my favourites from this wonderful performer, is in Russian but do not need lyrics to experience the emotions portrayed. Diana is apparently a 'dramatic contralto' who can also yodel and can produce polyphonic overtones. So glad you watched the judges comments -- very insightful ( apart from the shared delusion re divine assistance. her abilities, skill, commitment, intensity and professionalism are all her own work. -- the invisible non existent entity in the sky has nothing do with anything and has never, EVER been shown to exist. Thousands of years of lies. )

Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion.
