Очень хорошие комментарии. Он ознакомился довольно уже давно с "Human" в её исполнении и был одновременно впечатлён и озадачен. С одной стороны, этого музыканта не удивить низким звуком - он, вероятно, играет на баритон-саксофоне (спасибо одному знатоку, который мне об этом написал под реакцией на "Human"). Но он как будто никак не мог тогда свыкнуться с этим странным голосом, хотя и выразил должное восхищение. Сегодня, едва услышав первые низкие ноты, он сразу же остановился и вполне определённо высказался, что это "очень красивый голос". Дальнейшее развитие композиции стало для него неожиданным - и он удивился снова, по-настоящему - но это было уже, в отличие от его реакции на "Human", удивление пополам с восторгом (и с неизбежным лёгким недоумением). Мне показалось, что он это всё-таки посмотрел заранее - поскольку высказался он вполне содержательно и по-существу. Впрочем, повторные - хотя бы и в сотый раз - просмотры видео с этим потрясающим номером никак не мешают восхищаться и удивляться совершенно искренне даже самому опытному любителю музыки - и нам всем это ощущение хорошо знакомо...

Please excuse the length of the post, but there is a lot of information to give. This performance took place on September 25, 2021, when Diana Ankudinova was 18 years old. She was invited to perform at the inaugural season of a new Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn”, and Diana Ankudinova’s cover of Elvis Presley’s classic, Can't Help Falling In Love, demonstrated she has developed into what many vocal professionals are saying is a true Contralto voice type, and for those that may not know what a contralto is, a Contralto is the lowest type of female voice and a true contralto is very, very rare. Within the contralto voice type category are three generally recognized subcategories: • The coloratura contralto, an agile voice specializing in florid passages • The lyric contralto, a voice lighter in timbre • Diana Ankudinova is a dramatic contralto, the deepest, darkest, most powerful of the contralto voice types. Diana has said in past interviews she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and the more prestigious Russian music academies refused her admission because of it. Diana, along with her voice teacher decided to concentrate extensively on improving and developing her higher vocal range. Diana’s vocal range was first measured in 2017, when she was 13 years old. At that time Diana’s vocal range was measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which was very low and unusual, but still very good for a 13 year old girl. In September of 2021, just four years later during this performance, Diana’s vocal range was again measured. Her functional vocal range now measures from a low of C3 (male Tenor range), to a high of B♭5 (female Mezzo Soprano range). During the opening of Can’t Help Falling In Love two things are very noticeable, first the musical score was switched from a major key to a minor key, and Diana’s Contralto voice is on full display. The second is the improvement of her upper range which is also on display during the middle portion of this performance. The depth and the power of Diana’s voice near the end of Can’t Help Falling In Love is what further defines her as a Dramatic Contralto. Dramatic Contraltos have the deepest, darkest, richest sound, and are the most powerful of the contralto voice types. Dramatic Contralto’s are also the rarest of the rare Contralto voice types. At the end of this performance, the power of her Dramatic Contralto voice is also on full display for everyone to hear. One of the most asked questions about Diana is, how does she do it? How does such a young female singer achieve those low, rich, deep, profound, and resonant sounds? Without actually scoping her vocal track while she is actually producing those low notes, the general conciseness of many vocal professionals is simply attributing Diana's ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning she was just born with her unique vocal anatomy. Diana's vocal folds (vocal cords) appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box) appears to be larger, and her pharynx (throat) similarly appear longer than the majority of female singers, plus she has a large oral cavity (mouth). It’s this unique vocal anatomy that appears to give Diana Ankudinova the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, and full sounds she is known for, but without the ability to actually scope her vocal track to verify this, there is no way to be 100% sure. The judges for this competition were a panel of nine professional singers that compete against each other and also award judging points to each other. When Diana was not performing herself, she was also a member of this judging panel. The “ShowMaskGoOn!”, competition concluded on November 20, 2021. During Diana's performance, the judge on the top row, and the first to stand is Yusif Eyvazov, a well known Russian opera tenor from Azerbaijan who was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this competition. At the end of Diana's performance she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is Julia Parshuta, a well-known contemporary Russian singer. Julia is in the center row dressed in in red, and when she stands she looks totally lost. At the end of Diana's performance she puts both hands on top of her head, and has a look of total shock and bewilderment. Finally, The Show Must Go On competition concludes with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points over the total of 9 weeks, and was declared the show winner!

One thing thats been just so mesmerizing about diana's voice is that at times? She's got the ability to do a split double note vocalization. If you watch one of her 1st auditions?.. I believe its the french piece called "Danze?" Listen closely. She is able perform that split vocalization of her notes. Diana's the real deal!

Hooray! It's diana again. I know she was just gifted that crazy contralto timber in her early teens (and deserved it after such traumatic early years) . However, she has worked very hard on her technique, approach to individual songs, and polyphonic overtones for years. I actually like her russian ( rechenka and the crow) and the french danse derniere songs best, but the English ones are iconic and made her own.

The video was shot on a phone so the sound and video quality is poor!!! But there is confirmation from Diana that all the songs she sang at this concert will be released on her official channel!!! We need to be patient!!!!!

She sounds like a dramatic contralto to me. She's got that gorgeous dark, smokey timbre in her lower register. I love her voice. From the bottom all the way to the top. She's a wonderfully skilled vocalist.

She HAS classic soprano. Diana is undergoing a versatile musical education, including classical singing techniques and has already performed an opera aria from the opera "Prince Igor" by Borodin. Now she is at the level of a mezzo-soprano, but we will not be surprised if a coloratura soprano can.

I've followed Diana for years now and the best way to describe Diana is simply 'magical'. She's 18 here and 20 today and still in the last year of University studies (GITIS - The Russian Institute of Theatre Arts) in Moscow. She's really just begun her career even though she has a ton of music under her belt. I think you would really love one of her original songs on her official KZread channel. I urge you to listen to "In My Huge City". It's an atmospheric bluesy, laid back song based on poems from a famous Russian poetess from 100 years ago. Diana crafted the song based on Marina Tsvetaeva's writings on insomnia. Her voice is sublime. Enjoyed your video and your thoughts. I discovered Henning May from one of your videos. So far you have reacted to two of her performances I would like to make a small suggestion to you 1. Do a backstory research on her past, and you will understand why she is so emotional and compassionate in her performances. There is an amazing backstory. Please take a few minutes to appreciate it, and 2 she has so many other performances, and everyone of them are completely different from the other, and will shock you every single time, even if you choose to just view on your own time you will be blown away every time, and if you choose to seek out the performances that she does on the competition shows because of the theatrical background. She has just released two additional new performances. She did one recently that made 1,000,000+ views in 10 days called in my huge city. It is a jazz number and it’s amazing as I said even if you just watch them on your own time thanks for showing her some love.

A great voice, started out much lower in tone than expected. Kind of operatic, which really isn't my favorite type of music, but very well done. I kind of prefer the So Hyang approach though some of her music is from 8 years back. Both sing to the audience which warms the song.

She kinda shocked me the first time I heard her. I though I was being pranked honestly. I though they had an effect on her mic. It’s her though which makes her completely unique in the singing world today. It’s no wonder she is a star. It’s nice getting to hear from you again. As you can tell they just gave me back mentization. I emailed google and they looked into the matter and realized it was a mistake. It took about 2 hours from when I first emailed them and they looked at the channel and said ok he should be monetizing. I was so happy that they were good with my content. I feel the same as you Guy. Very well done and a very unique voice but it is not for me (the same with Dimash if one dare to say that…). SoHyang however moves me a lot with her voice, performances and warmth. I think some voices just touches you and some don’t no matter how good they are.

Dee ahna. An Koo Dee nova . Diana is a Dramatic Contralto, the lowest form of the female voice . On top of that, Diana is also Polyphonic which allows her to sing multiple notes at the same time. Also, Diana sings this in its original form, not the Elvis light and fluffy form. This song is about an underage girl who knowing it's wrong to fall in love with an older man, but, she can't help falling in love 💕. What a tremendously powerful voice. Unbelievable. @@bobcieslinski Not so much a Dramatic Contralto, but definetly a Contralto. Her version of Derniere Danse you can really hear the polyphonic aspect. This was a special arrangement in a minor key, vs. Elvis and the original which was in a major key. Her back story as a young child is just chilling, truly an amazing woman.

Dramatic contralto is the voice identifyer. With the excellent addition of being polyphonic.

Please go to her channel. She has a dedicated channel of videos when she was very young. Also, like someone already mentioned above mentioned , research her back story. Birth mother beat, starved, tried to drown her in a bathtub. Abandoned her in the freezing cold. Was found by relatives. Could hardly speak, probably from the trauma. Ended up in an orphanage. Ldy there adopted her. Doctors recommended she be given singing lessons to help with her speech. This was at a very young age. She has dedicated herself to her singing ever since. You were talking about her control. Years of dedicated practice. Check out Rechinka, she was 14.
