Underhanded braiding has always look neater to me. Unfortunately I was taught to braid overhanded and it's a struggle to automatically make that switch.

Sameee. I ended up taking a braiding class and they damn near forced me to learn underhand being that's what they say most ppl use. Omg at first it seemed as if my hands couldn't even adjust but now i got it but im sooo slow ugh !

Agreed. I was taught overhand when i was 4 and have been since. I agree that underhand is neater but it's hard to remember and I'm slow

I used to think it was a left hand thing, because I only braid underhanded. I was taught to braid overhand but naturally went underhand with it because it was more comfortable. I learned that it isn’t. But I cannot braid overhand fast at all.

Ok I will be trying this technique on my hair this Saturday. I really like this!

I love this way! Not only does it work for tucking but also have a neater knot.
