Can Salt Systems Actually Cause Air Bubbles in Swimming Pool Returns?
Have you ever had your head spin because you can't figure out where the air bubbles coming out of the pool returns are originating from. Don't overlook the swimming pool salt system. In this case, that was 100% the cause of the air bubbles as I demonstrated in this video.
Next time you're at a pool and have air bubbles, and the system happens to have a salt system, shut it off and see if that's the cause. Sometimes it will be and some times it won't, but at least you'll know!

@kennyarcher7876 haha! They are most definitely, 100%, a luxury item. When they work they are great but they do not save the client money overall. I’m doing a video on that topic real soon.
The bubbles DO make it to every return in the pool if each return was homerun back to manifold. The bubbles don't know which path is shortest at the manifold, they only follow the flow of the water. If the valves are adjusted to equalize flow at each return, then there you go, chlorinator bubbles out of every return.

Hi just wondering why do only some pools do this. Why do only some Salt water chlorinator do this and others don’t My pool never used to do this but now it does. If I turn my swg done they go away. Can you tell me why it never used to

I think a lot of it has to do with the hydraulics of the pool, or how efficient the water flows through the system. The salt system in this video has a 90 right before the cell (a big no per the manual), a 90 right after the cell, and then a bunch of other hard turns before the water makes it way back through the returns. When the water hits a 90 theres turbulence, or cavitation (bubbles), created which sometimes don’t get “popped” before they come out of the returns. That’s why, generally speaking, the bubbles come out of the closest returns because the bubbles have time Togo back into liquid form running out to the longer returns. I hope this makes sense.

@@ChlorineKingPoolService My pool is 6 months old It’s a concrete tiled pool The first 3 months it never happened but now it’s happening all the time Would you be able to explain that as well
