The day after the release of this video, Ren released his 2nd independent album, Sic Boi. On Friday, Sic Boi charted #1 on the UK Charts, with no touring, no real promotion, no radio play, and no major record label. Just based on how his music touches people and their backing of him. He is shifting the power already. Love him and love your reactions.

Ren IS Music! Outta my 40 plus years as a musician... ive Never known such a prolific lyrical/musical genious!!! Ive Never been More excited for someone in the game to get a #1 chart... like hes my own Son!!! Im Soooo Happy for him, what hes achieved, with practically no effort on his end! By that i mean No touring, no industry label pushing him, being independent all while being housbound due to illness, etc... He has awoken a whole new level of musical awareness and admiration!!! Well Done Ren, thank you and other reactors... those who are actually the ones who helped push him Soooo far out there to win a #1 charting!!! Absolutely Fantastic!!!! Thanks Bro... for your help getting our Boi to #1!!!

I keep thinking of a line from the 80's movie Wargames: "A strange game. The best way to win is not to play." It takes a hell of a lot of talent to cause the conversations Ren has. I appreciate your breakdowns and analysis very much. I have to say that I really am blown away by how much Ren teaches without ever seeming preachy and pedantic about it. On a massive societal level, we need to move past 'greed is good'. I remember when that movie came out... GORDON GECKO WAS THE VILLAIN FFS!!! Being American, it's heart-breaking to me how so much of the worst of us has been exported to the world. Greed didn't originate here, but man if we didn't build a whole system around it... I guess every empire, whether the Romans, the British, the Americans, and whomever is to come next will try to replicate itself on the world, and that will include the bad things too.

True but again if you don't play you're doomed. You cannot live outside a system you physically live in. Unless you're ready to leave everything. Some people want to stay out of the game but never stop and think about where the US or Europe's wealth comes from. It is certainly not from it's corn fields... The reason the iphone cost "only" 900 USD is because of the war in Congo that already killed more than 8 million people (95% civilians) since 1997. If there were no war in that country, that same iPhone would cost about 3000 Usd. Why? Because Congo holds 90% of the world's reserves of minerals used to make satellites, batteries and chips for cellphones, computers or electric vehicles. Wars and conflicts lower the price of resources. But you won't hear about this war in mainstream medias because it's convenient not to talk about it.

Something else that may "bake your noodle" is that this potentially exists in "The Tales" Reniverse. James = Screech an this could be an alternate life for Jimmy, still being influenced by the temperament of his father. At the mirror, the opening humming/yodeling is reminicent of the beginning of Violet's tale. And "it's such a damn shame" mirrors "it's such a shame" from The Tales and that is the line which was the catalyst for the concept of The Tales. Taken from the news article, which Ren based the story, when the police officer took the life of "Screech" but all he could say was "it's such a shame" instead of questioning the reasons which led Screech to be Screech and Jenny to be Jenny. Also .... Sick Boi album - No.1 in the UK charts this week for an independent artist with severe medical issues and no industry backing, radio play, tours or interviews. All powered by Ren and the people that Ren has impacted. It's a beautiful moment.

🥺 Prymal, you are the absolute best. Time ceases to exist when Ren is telling his stories and I always need a while to process what I’ve witnessed. Your articulations help a lot 😅 and you really manage to “nail it” - describing Jimmy’s tale as a parable is right on the money! (Btw, you’re the 1st person I heard to apply the old aphorism “a rising tide rises all ships” in regards to Ren [with your How To Be Me reaction in June], and in July, when Ren hit 1M subs he said “there’s a saying which stuck with me recently, which is ‘a rising tide lifts all ships’“ - everyone’s been saying it since 😉) Really hope Ren catches this superb reaction, and can’t wait to catch what you’ve been cooking up for your channel! ❤

I've watched Reactors reacting to Ren for months now and have a few favourites. This is my first time watching you. And I really enjoyed your observations. Some of which other reactors have commented on but not all. You covered them all and then added some really good perspective observation. Starting with the anlge from which each Money Game approaches the same subject. You articulated your observation in a thought out, clear manner. Not jumping from one thing to another. And the cherry on the cake to confirm your understanding of Ren. Knowing that, as you said you are late to the Ren party, so I'd have said you've never heard him use or be associated with this saying. Ren said in an interview many months ago when commenting on allowing reactors to use his music without the threat of copywright infringement. Saying that if his success can help others then he is happy to forgo any personal gain to support others. That saying a philosophy he lives his life by ' A rising tide lifts all boat'..so kudos:) I'VE SUBSCRIBED AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE OF YOUR REACTIONS....ESPECIALLY TO REN...PEACE DUDE:)

Is Ren actually playing this piano intro? Jeeeeze! How many talents does this man leave OUT of his tool kit? Very few it seems! Genius is a word I hesitate to use, ( and I'm sure Ren would be uncomfortable with! ) despite being very tempted with his Jenny, Screech & Violet Trilogy, yet the more I view this, the more I think it applies. You're right about Ren's primary aim being a Storyteller. In a recent interview he talks about being precisely that and how he wants his work to create connections between people. Especially those that are marginalised, that don't have a voice. Think he's succeeding in this aim - don't you? { Sick Boi now No.1 in UK and Hi Ren still roaring up at over 60 mill views.} Great to see. Great multi-faceted insightful analysis.

Excellent reaction. 👍🔥👍 I am very pleased that you brought in the example of subscriber numbers to illustrate the sickness of greed. 90% of Americain subscribers will thank their subscribers for reaching a " milestone" then split seconds later, negate that gratitude by expressing greed for the next milestone. Not that Americains are the only ones to do this but it is so much rarer elsewhere in the world. I believe that the Americain citizens are drowning in the horrible corporate culture of taking more from the cookie jar than you need. It is so sad because there are so many good people living this horrible life on the great hamster wheel of a greed based culture. Misguided individuals recreating slavery in a less obvious form.😢 This song is very idealistic but education and thinking is the first step to improving situations, in my opinion. 🥰🥰🇨🇦

My dad taught me lots of things but there are 2 that stand out. Don't cry or obsess about anything that can be fixed with money. If it can be fixed, it's not a tragedy. He also taught me that if you have money, spend it making great memories & making the people around you happy. Enjoy it because you cant take it with you. When he died, myself & my siblings got £20 each. That was it! But we lost the best father (i believe) that ever lived & the values he instilled in us were worth a fortune. They live on now in our children. Ren gets it, he really does ❤

Loved the measured, thoughtful commentary. Yes, well put; "it's the message" that's the important part. And sometimes the message isn't what is easy for us to hear, but he is willing to do the hard thing.

He was never enough in his fathers eyes and when his father died he could never get his approval! That’s when he lost it! He killed the money game. We all need to look in the mirror looking at how we parent our children! Also what part do we play in the money game! What’s enough!

This is such an interesting song. I feel like it shares as much with Ren's "tales" as it does with Money Game. It's a single shot tragedy about generational trauma. He could have just as easily called this "The Tale of Jimmy" and had another eureka moment as the money game reference with the last line.

Jimmy’s a victim of his fathers burning ambition for wealth. Teaching your child that money is the be all & end all of life, money is what makes you “a Man”, is disgusting. There’s no joy in Jimmy’s life, no love, just greed & ambition. REN captures that sadness, the sterility of that life, perfectly. He’s a f*cking genius!

I appreciate art, but I find your analyses are the catalyst to get me truly thinking about it. I see Jimmy's life as a metaphor for the spectrum of greed. We start life with nothing - we need. We absorb knowledge, surround ourselves with the tools to grow, leverage the outputs of human invention to exceed. Then we want. Comfort. Luxury. Extravagance. Having kills wanting, so we want for more. All of a sudden, wanting becomes our raison d'etre, “why” is but the shadow of a distant memory, and who we hurt to get there? A justifiable moral dilemma, becoming a distraction and eventually evolving to irrelevance. We devour. To your point, there is a zenith in Jimmy’s tale, where the output of our capitalist construct allows him to contribute to the evolution of society… and this is where the sliding door moment comes in - he can choose to be the arm that reaches down to lift others up, or the bottom of the shoe which treads on those below to reach the top. We too have that choice. Ren’s art is the mirror the world needs right now. Hey, and thanks for your work too man, love what you’re doing.

Wow such a thoughtful reaction and analysis i think @renmakesmusic would enjoy to hear your take on it (as well as your synopsis of the first 2 parts). Ren somehow has the ability to keep us all locked and totally focussed on his music (and videos especially) and on a 9min song thats incredible i think. His video listening to the radio to hear the album charts results come in was pure gold, could see the surprise and genuine joy at this achievement i loved it!!
