That's my biggest problem with critical's moist meter of the game. Rockstar games are never good speed run games.

I do enjoy this longer form, cut but not cut too much, not overly memed up editing. I enjoy the other stuff too, but this is a good game for this style editing.

Yes! I was actually going to comment something like this. I think it's nice that the long parts of gameplay are cut out but without leaving the important parts of the story in gameplay, like speaking with characters while in camp.

​@@Littlejack69420 GTA 5 is more arcade, fast paced, there is barely anything to do other than getting 5 stars and try to survive. But guess what, that's so much fun to do. There is no consequences for your actions, do whatever you want, let your intrusive thoughts out, have fun! RDR2 is about the ambient, how everything in the world interacts with everything. Every step you take there is something to do. It's about getting immersed into the game and believing it, to think that there are consequences to your actions. But you are also free to play it like psycho Arthur Morgan, and that's also cool, because it's a completely different route. RDR2 is a technical masterpiece. Game shouldn't exist (literally, it was the result of insane crunch), it's way too detailed. And of course, the story, the characters, Arthur Morgan the best videogame character ever written IMO. I would say RDR2 is the best game ever made, as I said, game shouldn't exist.

Am I the only one that's not vibing with the way some of the dialogue is being cut here? I can understand cutting the less important parts to smooth out the pacing like the shootouts, hunting game, Javier and Arthur running away from the wolves, Dutch and Arthur slowly walking down to Colm's hideout, etc, etc... But other stuff like shortening Dutch's speech at the beginning, Sadie's last bits of dialogue after rescuing her, Javier talking about the heist in Blackwater, Dutch's backstory with Colm, the ride back to camp after kidnapping Kieran (the dialogue there is funny), those parts I feel like there could've been a different way of fastening the pace without either shortening them or out right cutting them out of the video, this game is heavy on story and half the fun is hearing characters talk... I know that, at the end of the day, these are minor nitpicks and nobody other than me cares about them, but like Matt says at the beginning, "My main goal is to accept the game for what it is and play it as intended, rather than wishing it was something else." and I feel like the editing should reflect that mentality as well, specially considering that Matt actually pays attention to the story and gives his opinions about it later on in this playthrough, removing some of the dialogue would also be removing some of the context behind Matt's opinions, a slightly more relaxed editing style would suit this playthrough better, imo.

its suprising how matt not trying hard to make content actually makes good content, i rarely watch long vids in full but i did with this one. I also like the small amount of memes and editing, really balanced.

Editing is very well done! I like the music in gunfights and knowing the game I think that ratio between plot scenes/dialogues and gameplay is good. I hope that in other episodes where Matt will have more freedom, the videos will contain non-essential stuff for main story

Love the editing in this one. Great memes, and great sound fx. Hope to see more vids with this editing style, but i do appreciate your other vids with more chill editing.

Matto, you talked about different dialogue options for gta 6 for different outcomes and i believe they should do what this game did and have you choose like, "do you want to chase after the O'Driscolls or hold position", that would work i think

Clipping is one of the most impossible things to solve in videogames. I wish gamers would stop talking about it at all. GTA VI will have it. Half Life 3 will have it. TES 6 will have it. Any game will have it for a long time.

I've seen plenty of games solve the clipping issue, so I still think it's appropriate to call it out. Plus, with the fact that games can be updated post launch, I don't see a reason why it can't be an important thing to try and fix.

@@plexyglass429 i had the pleasure (or displeasure) of having to create my own game from scratch for a college project, and God it was awful to try and make the hitboxes work with the player, especially when it came to the player colliding with a moving enemy so i honestly can’t imagine what the process must be like for a game as complex as red dead 2, that guy really doesn’t know what he’s talking about 😂😂

As a member of the Red Dead community we still love you even tho you hate this masterpiece. 😂 And i think that's been the beauty of it over the years coz even people who vibe more with GTA and dont like the slower laid back western style of Red Dead can give the game its flowers coz they were basically over the years able to take the principles that made GTA so successful and place them into a much better storytelling experience even if the gameplay isn't as beloved or chaotic as GTA

I had a rough start with RDR 2, the hyper realism made everything feel slow and difficult. I was crashing my horse into everything, dying in shootouts. Now I replay the game with ease and have no idea why I had a rough start looking back on it. Its very strange

I hope Matto enjoys this game, cuz this is one life-changing game
