Something interesting is that Piers says he's not that strong of a Gym Leader, but remember: every Gym Leader in Galar is ranked. This means that as the 7th Gym Leader, he is not only stronger than every Gym Leader that comes before him: he's the 4th Best Trainer in Galar after you become Champion (Player, Leon, Raihan, then Piers).

He nearly defeated Raihon in the finals, only reason raihon won was through dynamax. Kinda cool how far he got out of his own principles and should he dynamax, he'd take the championship.

I agree, he managed to knock out three members of my team BEFORE I decided to restart and train more than 6 pokemon due to the portable box, meaning that all the pokemon were a few levels over him, AND I was training a Centiscorch at the time. and just to clarify, I almost *NEVER* lose pokemon in a battle against a gym leader

I guess you can say that you really had to be sharp, dark and toxic in order to “Pierce” through the competition. This really show how much of a disadvantage and powerful he is without Dynamax But if you’re smart as the saying goes... No matter how big these Dynamaxic Pokémon are, it just mean the harder they fall.

If he were to win and become champion, I’m pretty sure that after a while, he’d step down. He loves battling but I don’t think he anticipated it as solely a career. It’s more of a hobby to his actual passion for music. If he did win the Championship and stay champion, it would be out of the same reason he took up the title of gym leader: sense of duty. He wouldn’t be happy as champion.

Piers is awesome: he’s a great big bro, he is the only person who wants to battle traditionally (which takes a lot of guts and skill) and, his style is sick as heck!!!

I love this video so much, there were so many funny moments throughout the video! From the random singing, to the lines that were said when using certain attacks like "Pocket Sand" for Sand Attack & "Scree!" for Screech, to the random lines that always caught me off guard like "Burn baby burn!" in Opal's gym make this a joy to watch! I decided to play Sword and Shield without Dynamaxing just because I thought Pierce was so cool for doing it. Best way to play in my opinion.

I remember being in the stream where Vasko tried fighting Needs and saying "I'm gonna lose." then I called that Vasko would win.

If you didn’t know the zigzagoon line can learn seed bomb so that might help with future Nessa runs, hopefully. Anyway I hope the nessa run goes well for you

I remember that stream, it was so much fun. I can’t lie that what do for my Obstagoon, to scout, tanks a few hits and be a bit a sweeper. You know what it actually makes a lot of sense for Marnie to have gotten her Leopard from her brother after he was done using it for egg move purposes.

I always saw Piers as a “Unique” Gym leader for Galar. Imagine; Dynamaxing has already become familiar with you and you’ve defeated six gym leaders with it. Here comes Piers and…you can’t dynamax. If you didn’t already have a super effective move against Dark types or you relied on dynamaxing to win. This is the game’s way of snapping you back to reality. This battle taps into a ounce of the OG tension and unfairness that earlier games had. Even if its still a mere fraction and he’s easy to beat if you have a fairy type, he’s there. *He is there.* They could’ve gone for the basic dynamaxing gym leader, but no. They decided to put in the first Dark type gym leader in Pokémon and give him that classic treatment. The treatment that, Pokémon can be hard; It can have bad luck. It can have good luck. The battle could go anywhere, it can land a crit on you and put you in a tough spot, it can even put you in a comfortable position, but even if this game is maybe the easiest Pokémon game; it still encapsulates that true-to-form feel even if it’s in one battle.

Taking out Nessa is such a beautiful moment in this video. Nice song right afterwards.

If Piers was into gigantamax Pokémon it would be interesting if he was introduced with a gigantamax Toxtricity despite been a dark type specialist and he had it for fairy cover and if he had a sixth choice he would have a Rillaboom because outside the lighthouse you can see a band of the three playing a music

his dark types would easily defeat Allister melony might be a problem simply because his only coverage move is stunktanks flamethrower but that isn't very fast so it'll be neutral damage while stuck in a hailstorm. doesn't sound that good for Piers

You gotta admit, the galar region has really cool gym leaders. Probably the best?? Just going by aesthetics.
