I think the npcs are programmed to more so deal with the player or something akin to them and bosses rather than more moderate enemies such as mimics. Not to mention how they often play support….most of the time at least.

Anri's looked most like an actual player fighting with her double dodge-rolls (which were actually effective in getting her out of range), backstep/run forward attack and multiple heals. I was not surprised by it though. First time I met him I didn’t know what I was doing and had been conditioned to fight anything that jumps out at me. I saw him coming down the elevator and beat the ever loving shit out of him. My friend who bought the game for me so we could play heard what I did and was appalled

You know, as someone who's only ever watched videos on it, has never played a souls game, and doesn't know most of these NPCs, I was rooting for all of them throughout this entire video. Some of them got done dirty with their luck IMO, had a decent chance of winning but couldn't quite do it. Seeing the numbers of NPCs sitting around the arena drop was a nice touch as well. I would love to see some tag-teams with the losers, see if they can't do better when fighting it co-op Also, ONION MAN, NOOOOOO

Patches: Steps up for his round. Me: Alright Patches, you're always on about treasure somewhere, let's see how YOU are at getting it. Patches: Gets eaten. Me: How's that for "Unbreakable"?

Some pro tips for new players: 1. All chests have a chain, mimics chain faced forward while real chests face backwards. 2. Mimics mouth (at least for the first dark souls) will move very slightly up and down. 3. Once you spot a mimic two hand and use your most powerful weapon (you can wield effectively) and charge up a R2 attack (powerful attack) to stun them then do it again and again till their dead. 4. If you mess up and you get chomped, always roll behind and do a R2 attack but don’t hold it and stun them. Hope that helps :)

Fun fact: mimics take less damage when transforming and in their chest state, but if you put them to sleep with a Lloyds talisman (undead hunter charm) they don’t have that resistance

I love how he kills most of them with one, maybe 2 bite attacks, and then Havel just sits there and gets eaten 3 times and STILL wins. Others were so badass they killed the Mimic without being hit once

Lapp: *drinks Estus with over half HP* Alva with 10% HP: F*ck it, we ball.

Havel, after being eaten 3 times: “I didn’t hear no bell!”

I love how Havel Knight does a kick at the end. Looks like he's kicking the mimic over.

It's almost cute, like a little kid that's been frustrated with something kicking at the end, lol.

Thus, the Unbreakable Thief was slain, being thought a lesson in irony; beware of the breathing chest. The Mimic ate well that night... Until a Rock rolled into it's path. 35 they were, sent to the end of the world; but only 10 were left by the time they quelled the Mimic's rampage. The Scarifice swiftly cut down the mimic, a prideful smile came upon her face upon its defeat. The Ringfinger shimmered his blade, and it's moonlight aura distracted the chaotic beast. The Forgetful's blade spun, tearing up the fiend at tremendous speeds! The Rock stood sturdy as he swung his dragon tooth effortlessly; the mimic could not hurt the strong warrior before it. The Holy Hollow bled the mimic, using his unique blade to dice up the fiend. The Seeker was wounded, but with a final swing, he managed to destroy the mimic. The Wonderer hacked away at the beast, chopping it down with the help of his unique ring's power. The Hollow Maiden skillfully sliced the mimic, using her Dark Hand to evade the Mimic's harsh grasp. The Deserter was too quick for the monster, using the Undead Legion's techniques to evade damage. The Silver Knight's stone hammer found its mark, shattering the monster!

15:49 wow, i know nothing about dark souls but im obsessed with this movement! Is this common throughout the game, like you pick up this persons weapon and can "mimic" their moveset? If its common or something the player can use honestly i might just have to play!

Yeah this is the farron greatsword used by the abyss watchers, it's an ultra greatsword dual wielded with a dagger and it has a very cool moveset revolving around using the dagger as a anchor to do spins with the sword.

Every weapon has its own moveset. If you have the weapon and stats to use, you'll be able to use the moveset.

Havel kicked the mimic as he fell over what an absolute role model for strength builds.

Had someone do the pointing down to me when I died after he jumped me fighting the two Sully Beasts. Killed the beasts dodging him the whole time, while dealing with a second invader. Died after both of them burned all their flasks. I guess he was BMing me after, didn't know that's what that meant.

“Madwoman” did four times better than expected, the sidesteps and perfectly timed stagger… It was beautiful.

Anri - survived like a hero, made comeback and won. Best fight. Havel - no skill just tank everything and laugh. Leonhard - skill and confidence, another target for the hunt. Hodrick and Ledo - What happened? Just squashed some rat. Yuria and Hawkwood - style.
