I got brushless cars including the savage flux and they are more powerful and fast but you can't beat a nitro savage, i must have got most variants of it including a twinzilla😆

Yep! The smell never leaves you. My first nitro fuel had castor oil in it. The same shit my mom gave me for stomach aches! YUCK!!😮

Nitro all day! All of us can slap in a battery and turn on the switch. It's a no brainer. But not as many can start a nitro, tune it and maintain it to go fast, or run properly. That needs some brain and long term experience. So to me personally, BL is like buying a Tesla and bring it to the drag strip vs an old Cuda. Nitro is allso very educational.

It was fun to hearing the motor Justn. I remember in time it was the best truck ever made, he have long shock with twin vertical plate frame. I didn't buy the savage x but later I buy the savage Flux in 2009 :)

Thank you Sami, yes these trucks bring back a lot of great memories, I started with the .25 believe it was then bought the X4.6 then I bought the XL 5.9 which was amazing with 3 gear transmission 💪🏼😍👍🏼 Never owned the flux but it sure was a beast from what I’ve seen! Awesome trucks back in the day 👍🏼👍🏼

Nitro will always be superior in my eyes

I had a 4.6 Savage that I put a Picco Boost .28 with a Dynamite mid range pipe in it years ago. That was the only nitro that I ever seen do a standing backflip. Sold it a couple years ago and really regret it. I have a couple brushless RC's, which will smoke any nitro I have, but they still don't have the soul a nitro has.

230 isn't a bad tune at all 👍 When I had mine I kept it in the 220s. Found it ran better on the higher octane stuff and a cooler plug. Sounded like your LSN was a tad lean, That's why it bogged when you floored it, not enough air to fuel. Sounds dumb, but it does make sense as you open up the throttle there's nothing then suddenly it's got tonnes of fuel. It's an indicator when you have to constantly blip the throttle to stop it from cutting out. Used to think mine was the idle until I tweaked the LSN and it helped it sooo much.

Yeah sucks they’re not around like before, I’ve always enjoyed their products. Last month I actually came across the HPI thunder tiger mirage Vspec also nitro but even older.... I believe it was produced 22 years ago. She’s not running right now but looks pretty good condition for the age...I’ll get working on her soon 👍🏼

They came back in stock just like the MAN! Chris from HRP said on Friday. There’s a $30 off coupon on their website at the top of the page and they didn’t charge sales tax!!! shipping from Utah so all in I ordered one for $469.99. It will be here in a week! Got the shipping notification from them like 2 hours after ordering it and it’s already been picked up by UPS. The crappy thing is I went back on line today because I thinking about picking up another one seeing it’s been so so so so long since we’ve been able to get a new one with all HPI’s nonsense. Now they are owned by HRP so praying they’ll come back to us

I remember that specific nitro sound so so well Now if only HPI or HRP can get there act together & start producing an updated “Nitro” Savage I’d personally by 2 (son) I literally just bought a 3.3 Tmaxx to add to my already original 2.5 & 3.3 Tmaxx, Hoss, & Rustler running great, but do we love that nitro sound or what....

Love my nitros, pity my Silver fox is from 1984 and my GV Warrior is from 1993. Both are animals!! Brushless though more powerful, easier to run, and so much cleaner and quieter.. Nitro has that much soul it drives most people to curse hahahaha!!! Nice HPI Savage, Justin, Dare say you can still find parts for it?? Nice little spot you guys have there! Awesome vid!

Oh yeah love the sound and the smell lol. Yeah Parts are still out there but slim pickings lol I just replaced the front differential (what a surprise 😆) and I had to wait 2 months for it.

Make it fair and race on the track where the savage was just as fast but the overpowered cars wouldnt have control.

slap a lrp.32 on it and it will fly! or force .32 off ebay. force makes hpi's engines
