Brian_F I’m highly Skeptic about the 2nd part of your comment. This is MVC2... you’re seriously not claiming he knows more than Jwong or nerdjosh. Pioneers of the game and you say that? Are you high? Have you heard them breakdown the game various times on live-streams , interviews and so on? I mean your boi is alright at best. But he’s got nothing on them when it comes to execution and knowledge. But can JM explain it in a way that is appealing to both a layman and an expert? Yes, he can. That's invaluable in its own right.

Btw you can also throw in a jump Lk delay j.mk delay j. J. Up fierce. This variation lifts the opponent while the normal lp, lp lk up+fierce steadily lowers e opponents height

when i played back then. i always hold up forward and the last jump i jumped straight up. i agree you gotta delay the lk slightly.

This is actually how to keep Sentinel in the infinite. You're going to have to switch between starting the loop with a j.lp and j.lk.

While it's not the perfect answer, jm's video "How a regional rivalry was settled by one of the HYPEST MvC2 grudge matches in history." goes over some things that you can sorta extrapolate to mvc2 in general.

Dude, I love the informative content. Nobody explains why things in fighting games work the way you do, while also being technical enough to actually perform the things you’re talking about.

...Thanks for explaining why the infinite is good, and also how undizzy works. (and why it is called undizzy, because SF games have dizzy as a thing, and here getting "dizzed" is not bad. Skullgirls uses undizzy, but as part of a guilty gear burst system.

That wasn't even the best thing about this infinite. War Machine can do this as well. So you can have two characters doing the same infinite in the same team.

Sometimes when the character is low, you can do an alternate version for 1 rep. Options include: 1) lk mp mk up+hp 2) lp lk mk up+hp 3) lk (pause) mk

When they go too low you use to uf. LP, uf. LK, uf. MK, uf. HP to keep them high enough. Then go back to the regular pattern.

I hope the next MVC has high quality cell shaded sprites. Just make the sprites a little bigger than MVC2.

I remember I always had to end it with fierce + Proton Cannon at the end, but I think maintaining the infinite also depended on the character. Easier if I'm hitting Sent, Doom, Thanos, Blackheart i.e. bigger taller characters.

you can delay the light and medium punches too or if they get too low you can start with a lk

Jumping infinites are among the easiest infinites although IM's infinite timing is a little tight. Next try something harder like Ken's infinite, or Magneto's rom into tempest 100%. If you can, do fast fly combos, unfly combos and refly combos.

nearly any assist can set up this infinite many like doom are OTG after a sweep there are very few games i play on a level that i can even say something mvc2 is one of them .... and if they get to low start using jumping lk as a start ...if you press up forward you risk that they drop and all gaps are important the timing is all there is to this combo and controlling the hight is the secret to hit with the super

I just remember the first time I saw this game with people playing it at Boomers and thought... Yeah man, let me play some Wolverine and some Akuma on this game. And the guy jumped around a couple of times and blocked everything I threw at him. Then he hits me one time, and I am legit sitting their watching him spend all match just juggling me. Yeah i walked away. I literally just walked away with a full 3rd Character left and was like "NOPE" Later when no one was playing, I would come back to the machine and try Arcade mode, but as soon as another guy came to put his change in the Arcade, Yeah I wouldn't fight him. 🤣 "You can just go ahead, dude"

It's pretty common. Right side isn't the side for player one, so training mode and arcade mode don't usually have you on the right. Basically, most players play on the left more often.

thanos and hulk infinite is not working in arcades..i dont know what kind of setting you have..and correction there's a way how to escape on guard breaks..probably you dont knew that..but there is also a lot of variation of guard breaks and there;s also lots of variation of how to avoid them..so you will probably confuse which variation will your opponent will use..so you have to guess right

it's not exactly the same but Magneto has a combo in mvc3 that is very similar to his notorious Rom infinite from 2
