you don't need. Just some get it as they won't have to use their personal social security, optional. but once you get an llc yes you do. after you do llc get ein for llc

What if I no longer have use of my sole proprietor & only want an LLC? Would I still need a new EIN?

@@betterlegal Insight: I currently had a EIN# as a sole proprietorship, and recently incorporated my business as a LLC (same name, just add LLC at the end). Do I need to create a new EIN# or file a 8822-B or 8832 form with the IRS of the change? Do I request to close my current DBA Ein# and request a new EIN#?
