@@AaronBjorklund Well, he made it into the circle on a 492ft hole...I'd say the shot is probably more like 475ft (still absolutely bonkers), and thats with both a tailwind and probably 10ft of elevation drop. I think if you put 10 biggest arms in a flat, windless field (think Drew, AB, Ezra, Thomas, Garrett, etc) and gave them all 10 putter throws each (so 100 shots total), I'd be putting the over/under of shots that hit 500ft at like, 10 shots. Maybe less. I think we'd see 80-90 discs clear 425ft, and then a massive drop-off in the 450-475ft range.

500' is a long way, you'd have to be able to throw 85mph+ to get that distance. Also, the difficulty at throwing a putter high is that it is very suseptable to nose up angle. It is very difficult, but try throwing at a negative angle, think of it as a reverse air-bounce. Difficult on the wrist as it requires above average flexibility. Eagle can do it. Lastly, I think throwing a putter 500' is not as useful as being able to throw a putter dead straight. Take one of those lines on the field and throw it right down the line and to the point where it hits the ground and doesn't hyser out. Then see how far you can throw that line. Can you get to 400' on a tunnel shot? That's a disc golf shot.

It's gotten so beat in, I'll release it on a hyzer, it'll turn over for more than half of it's flight, then slowly come back to flat, then it's natural fade. Throwing it in a field (or down hill) where it has time to flex and come back, I'll practically double my distance over a normal shot. Find a Luna that's beat in to flippy, and try that.

Dude, it’s a putter. I can’t believe how shocked you are that it won’t go 500 😂. I would say even the top tier power guys would struggle to hit that, but based on your throw velocity at Goat Hill, I think you’re already pushing top tier power. The top of the top would be the only ones that could throw putter 500 feet.

he is. he was hitting 73-75 which is already in the tier right below the very top guys. the VERY top guys (there are only about 5 of them) can hit 78-80, but mid 70s already puts him in an absolutely elite tier. extremely impressive.

Dude that's ridiculous! I'm a big fan of putter drives and the Luna handles the torque the best but a max weight jawbreaker Challenger has the best glide for me. 375' is about max for me. No crazy lines, or big height. I throw my best drives slight hyzer and it pops up straight as an arrow about 30 feet high. That Challenger will glide for days. Busting the 400' mark is still legendary my man! 🤘🏽

Mic jack on the camera or cable on the mic has a short. I’ve had this same issue with hot shoe mounted Rode mics (assuming you’re using something similar). If you’re looking to upgrade, the new Rode Video Mic NTG and Rode Wireless Go (two transmitter kit) are solid options that allow for a ton of flexibility and quality while hopefully solving the audio distortion you’re getting. Bonus: The Rode Videomic NTG has a removable and replaceable cord :)

Hey Brodie, the best putter thrower that I have ever seen kept the disc at or below 10 off the ground. It looked like a remote control plane at slow speed and he was getting over 500 feet on a straight line. Climbing up higher I think kills the speed and momentum. Think maximum RPM just like a Frisbee, you know lots of Z's.😎

Power grip, hyzer-flip up to flat, and high! Main thing is more hyzer and height, like throw it just like you where but bend over just a little and add a little more hyzer, looked like u def got the arm speed/power... I can't throw 500' putter shots either tho haha! Really your 400' shots are a super crush, but looked like you cld get atleast another 50' tho... I wld also get like 10 of the same mold, same run putters to practice throwing with, like a big z Luna, max weight, real domey or what ever putter you like throwing the most! Then just bag 1 or 2 of them when playing a round. Everytime u get that disc out you know exactly where its going and have that extra practice confidence! I know this helped my game so much! Just having 10 of the same disc every throw, then you can make a correction on the next throw and its like throwing that same disc! Plus all that practice with a putter will help your upshot game so much and will also help your form cause every little thing is magnified when throwing putters or understable disc. Once you find that sweet spot where it just floats straight, it feels so good and does wonders for your confidence! You been playing super solid lately tho man! Keep killing it!

The secret to putter distance is wind. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m3-Cy82hprzcirw.html ripping tail wind will help push a putter while keeping it stable. Paul throwing a putter on that hole was him throwing the slowest disc necessary so he could control it. Side note, keep a flippy beat up putter in the bag. It will save you in the woods since you can shape shots with low power and maintain control. also decrease the percentage of a bad kick that you might get from a fairway driver

When you're going for something challenging you have to accept that you're not just going to charge in and do it first try. You don't even know the discs yet! Find the right disc, figure out your arm angle, and practice. Even Simon struggles to reach 500 with a putter. He has a video that opens with him answering that question. If I recall he did like 460. I don't think lack of distance is a problem for you. Sure you're not Garrett or Drew, but who is? Pretty much just them.

I would recommend always using a fan grip anytime you throw a putter. Watch James Conrad and Michael Johansen, they aren’t bombing them 500’ but they have the control which is what you are looking for. They both throw their putters slightly nose up, seems to help it stay aloft since the rim isn’t giving as much lift compared to a driver and also lets you throw it harder without burning it over. Ask Brian Earhart about nose angle, he loves that stuff. I love putters, just not putting

I’m not a fan when you talk down on yourself Brody. 400 is pretty solid man. Wind has a lot to do with it. It looked dead out there. Try on a day when you can get a good tailwind. That might carry them farther. Besides when are you really trying to throw a putter 500 in a tour situation!? Maybe get some pointers from Simon or Paul. They can sling putters like no tomorrow. I look forward to a follow up on this video. Keep the solid content coming my guy.🤜🏻👍🏻👍🏻

A hotter / dryer day would help. All that humidity is slowing your discs down. I'm not going to go back and double check, but I don't think the crazy lines helped you. Hucking it like an ultimate disc might be your best bet.

Ok, I've been watching professional disc golf for 10+ years and I can only think of one time where a pro even attempted to throw a putter 500'. That was when Simon threw a P2 on hole 18 of Brazo East which was 492'. From my perspective as a viewer, I think most pros top out at 400-450' with a putter unless there is an elevation drop in play. I'm not sure where you got the idea that it is common for a professional disc golfer to throw a putter 500' but I believe you might be a off by 100'.

Think of it as a hyzerflip to flat with a super understable driver. Line it up straight towards your target and figure out the amount of hyzer it needs to flip up flat. A good angle should let it fly a line towards the target. Also keeping it nose down is crucial. However, the Putter needs hight to use the extra glide over the lower speed, which is why it does so well in a tailwind. The throw is mostly useful with a tailwind, or for shots that need a long turnover with zero fade in the finish.
