My guide for "Back to the Dawn", this is my walkthrough of this interesting new indie games demo, an early look and hands on preview, complete with my commentary, first time reaction and thoughts on this game with gameplay, recorded by me.

Being that this is a male prison, the platypus would be the last creature I'd want to bunk with. Males have venomous spurs on their back legs, so if he got shirty with you, you'd know about it... Also, as an Australian, I find it offensive that they left off the kangaroo's tail.
I like how you bleeped 'fart' but not 'dipshit', lol
this is such a rad game, im so ready for the full thing!

You did a good job on your Aussie accent! I’m Australian and I have trouble pronouncing my A’s. There’s different dialects much like the Uk would have.

yeah i feel like even playing the demo again as the other character as well would offer so many other options, might need it since it's another YEAR till this one is out

@@MadMorph yes! Im sure the other characters story is quite different. Its unfortunate but also understandable how much work is going to have to go into it.

@@MadMorph Not sure if you tried it already, but the other character is just there as a teaser and not playable in the demo :( It's definitely worth at least one more run through anyway though! I stopped watching the video about 15 minutes in since I knew I wanted to play this myself, then I came back here afterwards and saw that your experience was quite different to mine. I'm gonna play through it again as well and befriend different characters. Plus now that I have a bit more info, I reckon I'll be able to call my lawyer, make a screwdriver and dummy and get into the wall behind the toilet, which might be the "best" ending for the demo if it lets you do that. Thanks so much for showcasing this game, I can't wait for the full version!
Very cool! It's such a unique take on the Escapist prison rpg mechanics.
This game reminds me of Escapists which is awesome- but it’s got animals, which is 1000x better 😆

you should check out a game called Wobble dogs, it has a cutesy theme but can very easily turn into a story about the horrors of animal breeding.

In my neighborhood in Bucharest Romania, there is this terrible waste disposal facility that is illegally burning garbage and stinking up a quarter of the city for years and years and we are trying to shut it down again and again but it always manages to stay open.. because of obvious connections.

Hakuna? Like Hakuna Matata from The Lion King? Thats actually kinda cute they make his friends name that Edit: Shouldn't say its a lion king thing, but the motto of the two is that and it would be referencing that movie lol

If you want me to aimlessly wander around somewhere and talk to everyone, you need to win me over somehow, and too much cutscene is not the way to win me over.
Ray's file makes no sense to me... Shouldnt the pronouns be they/them since Ray rejects gender labels???
Nice game but don't like the harmful stereotypes. The horse being a unicorn and defying gender norms seems like a transphobic joke, and the panda having an Asian name and being wise feels like a racist stereotype to me. Otherwise it seems great.

it isn't anything to upsetting, i wouldn't mind the unicorn if it didn't feel like a poorly veiled "i identify as an attack helicopter" joke. and if they took the gender identify serious and didn't use the pronouns they rejected in context of the friendship file. i would like it if they changed things up a bit but even then the joke has already been made. i can not speak on the fact the racism but i can agree with you on that front at most. i leave with the fact that ray is the best they/them unicorn ever.
Furry prison simulator
This was fun, and full game was released last year. From the demo it looks like it might be pretty long, but revisiting it somehow (maybe an edited-down non-completionist playthrough) would be pretty cool! @MadMorph
