Will the hardness of a coating interfere with PPF's ability to self heal in any way? (on film that can) and will a coating improve the gloss levels in the same way it does paint??

What prep should you do if you want to add new ceramic to your PPF when you believe its starting to fail? Clay? Iron Decon? Use Ceramic Prep spray like alchohol?

Polish it with ppf renew from Gyeon or just use Gyeon Primer if you want to coat it.

had some problems at work applying ceramic paint coatings on PPF from Hesic and 3M especely PPF on the hood of the car's. It always end up getting a haze on top of it after applying a coating there and even if i wiped over the hood 2-4 times and it is 100% leveled down and has no dark spots the haze comes back witch is a problem i have no idea why happends so we chossed to stop applying ceramic paint coating to PPF. Or PPF does have some buildt in protection already.

You're using a coating with harsh solvent. Change it with low solvent coating and you shouldn't have any problem

Hi Todd, You brought up a good point regarding Stek. Is it still possible to add a coating over it like gtechnic crystal serum ultra and work it in even if it tends to reject it? I had ppf done on solely the front end of my model 3 and ceramic all the rest but now have an appointment to get dynoshield on the rest of the car and the shop is offering to reapply CSU plus Exo as a courtesy. Will they have issues or should I purchase gtechnic Halo and have them install it!?

We don't use that brand, so can't speak to its ability to work with PPF.

@Josh B Ultra will kill your PPF flexibility. Use CSL or even better, go for Zipang.

What do you suggest for a maintenance washing a ceramic coated car or a waxed car ?

Dhruv Mittal Todd’s answer is most likely going to be Gyeon Bathe, it’s a good ph neutral car shampoo that has no additives. Just straight up cleaning power

Great video. Would you say it's safe to install nano bond ceramic coating on top of stek film?

Thanks. I've never heard of that coating, so I can't say. Having said that, STEK has a tendency to reject coating because of its own built-in layer. I've had STEK film on my cars with no coating on top, and never felt it needed anything else.

PPF first, then coating. Otherwise, you could potentially have issues with the film sticking properly.

Todd can you use Kamikaze surface film on a satin ppf?

Yes you can. Always be careful though when doing a satin-wrapped black car though because if you mess up, it will be very easy to see, and very difficult to fix.

You can re-polish the car with a pure polish (no protection added), then make sure you do a good job of stripping everything with Gyeon Prep or similar prior to coating and you should be good to go. Thanks!

Do they have ANY organic solvents such as Naptha? those are bad for PPF. I have no idea if those do. I believe the Griots 3-in-1 Ceramic spray does not have such organic solvents at all, and will be doing that.

Can you put ceramic coating on stealth ppf? Is there a benefit?

We're typically applying within a day after installing PPF.

Only polish the PPF if it looks bad, otherwise go straight to coating. If doing coating, there should be no involvement with wax.

What about matt paint?
