Well there’s a difference between negative and bad. Like socially awkward, cringe, clumsy, Lazy, slob, glutton, and mean are very different traits but all could make accomplishing certain task harder and be seen as negative. You could have a loyal slob (never cleans the house, but wouldn’t cheat) and a neat sim with commitment issues who cleans up behind themselves but flirts with every sim in the room.

@@TheDawnofVanlifemy good neat sim just got dumped for having an autonomous flirty vibe with others at the romance festival. His bf saw him and got mad, then it festered into allegations and the bf had the breakup want. Meanwhile the bf hd literally dumped his ex for my sim sooo… mess mess mess i love it! I totally get you about how the combination of personality traits affect sims. I have a sim (my sim’s mom) who is evil and a green fiend and it’s basically neutralized - she is obsessed with gardening and will randomly go off on her loved ones and be super mean to them but is otherwise pretty harmless and caring. she actually gets along with good sims which is surprising because they usually are repulsed by them - i think if you lean into the evil, it makes them hate good sims but my sim isn’t affected. I like to think she’s a self-aware psychopath and therefore works on being a better person

Honestly I feel like a boring simmer sometimes because i despise using negative traits. Obviously there are no real life consequences but i don’t like when my sims autonomously do horrible things 😭😭 it’s like I RAISED YOU BETTER THAN THAT!! all of my sims have the good trait from here on out 😂

Cringe is technically a negative trait but one of my new favs. Not every ‘negative’ is also mean or cruel. My klepto sim is also one of most charismatic and loyal. And he mostly swipes the dumbest little things I find in his inventory. I like that he has something that makes him a bit flawed. I also find it fun to take a socially awkward sim and have him go from struggling in interactions to mastering charisma, it’s a fun challenge.

I think if you had a house full of sims with negative traits and you could see the difference more. When you control your sim too much, the negative traits aren't' as noticed. But they are awful to be housemates with lmao.

Clumsy isn't a very negative Trait. I play with it fairly frequently. More of a cute slapstick sort of thing. They stumble when they walk, drop dishes they're trying to wash, and are more likely to slip and fall on snow and mud. If anything, it's a good Trait because they're less phased by mishaps, less likely to become embarrassed, and can more easily dispel certain Moodlets.

My sims keep developing it... But then they do laundry and end up with a bunch of stacked Playful moodlets, go Hysterical, and die randomly.

one of my sims has the mean trait. she will just…randomly shout at EVERYONE. strangers, her own wife, her KIDS, anyone! so annoying!

@@wrightcember I had two mean sims fall in love and get married. When I switched to another family to play for a couple sim weeks, I came back and they were total enemie. apparently when they were acting as townies, they did nothing but argue constantly 😆

I like how the guy friend did a uno reverse and said “instead of going to your place, let’s meet in public with a bunch of people”. I’d like to think that once he saw the state of his place he felt bad and became his friend. 😂

negative traits would be more fun if EA didnt think that just meant making sims walk around enraged constantly insulting people.

It wasn’t a glitch with the bathroom-older sims builds have gendered bathrooms 😭 that was the women’s toilet

Clumsiness is the most annoying trait. I had households with clumsy SIM they're always breaking things and I can never get them to fix stuff. I killed off one and had my other household members raise their handiness skills instead

I think this challenge would be more fun if you have to fight the game each step of the way. Round two, same traits, but you have to accept every pop up that leans into the initial bad traits. "Hates exercise?" Yes. "Become active?" _Never._ The challenge arises in trying to make them successful and happy in spite of the negative moodlets that arise. A sort of case study in how attitude can affect your enjoyment of life, whether you roll with the punches or are staunchly inflexible

Now try a sim who is socially awkward, a loner and childish. I tried that, but we weren't able to marry, it was hard. While I was befriending her she got pregnant from an other Sim. I was obviously to slow.

He looks so much a certain British aquascape youtuber I know. Recently his best friend from the local fish shop joined his studio and they're like Pat & Mat together.

All of my main character sims have the clumsy trait since i am. It’s more comical than negative, but maybe that’s me doing as the trait suggests with a positive acceptance of life’s little blunders lol 😅

I follow a 2 to 1 rule. If they're good, I give 1 negative 2 positive, if they're supposed to be mean, they have 2 negative 1 positive.

To get your sim home without navigating menu/map, just click the little house on the bottom right of their picture

It seems like the traits don’t really effect gameplay, at least some don’t, it said making friends and relationships would be a lot harder and conversations would most likely fail, but none of that happened, it was easy as it usually is. In the sims 2 a mean sim would be really hard to get along with

I noticed the younger sister from the only sims sister/college let's play at the lounge. Small world.

Then there is me, so self deprecating I made my sim gloomy, hot headed and erratic because I’m mentally ill, pessimistic, and easily annoyed. I later changed it to creative, cat lover, virtuoso to play some of my positive traits but my simselves (one per save file so I can interact with all my characters haha) hate going outside like me lol. Always close knit and homebody lifestyle.

I'm hoping you redo the 8 Sims eho hate each other in the Sims 2 living in the same house challenge again. This time you tell them to out out the fire or get them a smoke alarm for the fire department. Because they don't autonomously put fires out in Sims 2. They just freak out like idiots and die. Lol! But up until the fire that was a highly entertaining video. Lol!

I think it would be easy if you were to micromanage which is what you needed to do in this video, however when I have sims with no manners or responsibilities they always tend to autonomously be mean or say something that embarrasses them and it feels impossible to have them autonomously build a relationship

Evil and mean sims can be hard work. They keep randomly insulting people when you are trying to build relationships. You have to constantly cancel the interactions they choose for themselves and micromanage them.

It's really dumb how a sim walks right past two sims talking right in front of the front door and says nothing. I would think that a person coming to knock on my front door while I'm standing right in front of it? Would say pardon me, do you live here? Or something like that. That would be normal. So, now I understand why this game is riddled with bugs and rules that make no sense. This is who the Maxis creators think. The game is messed up because the people who created it are messed up. I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the conversion of traits, I thought the point was to have the traits and still be successful, guess I didn't understand.

Honestly, all Sims are badly behaved regardless of their traits. Sometimes they just don't want to listen to our commands lol 😂
