Isnt Justin 40 already or im mistaken? At least he must be pretty close... so he has to be a little familiar with the 80s and 90s console era. Even if he was possibly more into arcades but its hard to ignore some stand out console games from that era.

Comic zone is hard as hell but it's fun af. Sleeper Genesis game

Samsho 2 is iconic but it has some really busted stuff. Ukyo has one of the most busted moves in a fighting game. Tsubame or the Swallow Swipe. It's what Justin spammed against you the whole set. This move can be done instantaneously in the air, hits overhead and shoots out a projectile. Becuase his backdash also considers him in the air he can do it there as well. Me thinks Justin played you by saying he never played Samsho before.

Please keep going at it, this is a very interesting and entertaining series. Try more games you know nothing, to sharpen even more your ability to figure out things on the spot. The old ability from the arcade era, when even most console games didnt have movelists. It took some time for them to show full movelists, especially 2d fgs.

More like Honda + Dhalsim + Blanka. Because he is fat and has a move involving his butt, and uses fire and a long range normal (weapon), and has a rolling move (on the ground but it still counts).

Samurai Shodown 2 is the best fighting game ever made IMO It's about spacing, movement, and punishing mistakes. Combos are rare, and make you go OOOH because you can't just combo into your goddamn Ultra from a c.Jab like in every single motherfucking fighting game out right now. When you win, it's because your skill was higher than your opponents, straight up. The scramble in SamSho 2 goes so deep, it's 2024 and players still don't understand it. Even the 2019 SamSho suffers from "modernization" and feels like a fucking toddler could pull off a win. Also, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, EVERY character is GOOD.

So is Ukitake the spiritual successor of Ukyo from SamSho?
