I was there when my best friend asked her stepdad to adopt her on his birthday. She gave him the papers, he took one look at them, and burst into tears and hugged her so tight. Once he finally stopped crying, he tearfully said “Now the whole world will know what I’ve known in my heart all along….that you’re my little girl.” Not a single dry eye in that room.

My adopted father married my mom when I was 2. H egave me a wonderful life. When I was 50, I contacted my birth father. My half brother told me I was the lucky one, because growing up his dad was an angry alcoholic... When I meet him, he had gotten his life together... God has always had my back and I am truly blessed...

I was never allowed to adopt any of my "step" kids. Although I spent most of my adult life helping raise someone else's babies, that was as far as it was allowed to go. It's heart breaking to put all your love into someone else's kids, just to be reminded on a regular basis I was NOT their mother and would never be. The first set (1G?1B) the girl was 7 and the boy was 4. As far as their father was concerned, I was just someone who took care of his kids and slept with him. The second set (1G/1B) she was 2 1/2, he was 2 months). They STILL call me Moma to this day. All the kids are adults now and I still love them as if they were my natural kids! When I married my last and best husband, he came with 2 adult boys. I love those two just as much as if I gave birth to them! Yes, a piece of paper that said I was "legally" their mom would have been very nice, but, we all are connected by heart! That's so much better, in my opinion!

When are you lot going to stop lumping your shit on us? Women get knocked up then try to get money out of a deadbeat. To adopt is different but to take on another's kids is beyond dumb.

Idk man.. its usually the woman's fault that the relationship didn't work out in the first place. I would only pick up a dead beat dads kids if the mother was committed to me, which, is never the case. They will always put their kids first, above anything, even when they themselves are enabling the children and ruining their lives. There's a huge reason most men won't even come close to a single mother. Nobody wants to meet and get attached to children that aren't theirs just so they can be taken away just as easy.

If you ever find yourself talking bad about this world…remember that we each have the opportunity to see the glass half empty or full. Instead of chastising the negative, let us spread word of the awe inspiring humanity we each have within us. Both of my parents recently died, and I refuse to waste one day debilitated because of it. I am so fortunate to have had such great people raise. I am the lucky one. It is up to me to give back to those less fortunate. And I’ll tell you, nothing is more rewarding that helping those that truly need it.

My second husband legally adopted my two sons from my first marriage, whose father abandoned them. "Can I call you daddy?" They were the most beautiful words in the English language the day my oldest son said them for the first time to my second husband. That was 52 years ago; my husband served as Best Man at both of the boy's weddings. Sadly, he passed away before the son we had together exchanged wedding vows with his wife. All three of my boys carry his name, as do I.

God Bless good Dad's who are a gift of life that live forever. I know as my son's father died in a flying accident. Years latter the best man who loved my son was my second husband. He couldn't have been better. Grateful, thankful.

These adoption video's get to me more than any other reunion, new puppy or any other types of video's. My step dad wanted to adopt me from quite a young age, but the arsehole that is my biological father blocked it every time the subject was approached, just one more reason on top of many others that I hate him so much

You can do it once you turn 18 regardless of what what your bio donor wants. That would be a slap in the face revenge too.

@@02ujtb00626 I didn't know that at the time, I just thought it was only under 18's that could be adopted. It's way too late now as my stepdad passed away 15 years ago, and in the near future, I will be reunited with him, assuming of course that option is available and we don't just die and that's it

I am sure you made your step-dad know how you felt about him when he was here and I know (better than you can imagine) hate for your bio dad. Try to keep the love your step-dad knew you had for him in the forefront of your mind. Blessings to you.

If this brings you some measure of peace, I encourage you to CELEBRATE your loving relationship with your step father. Let your heart sing with JOY for the unconditional love and care he provided you. He sounds like a blessing of a human being, a wonderful Dad. As for your biological father, I think he really missed out on a wonderful relationship with you. ✌❤🙏
