A good build idea would be to give yourself 10k and do a house and then give yourself another 10k and improve the house then give yourself another 10k and so on, itd be cool to see how different the house is 10k to 20k to 30k and so on

I decided to make a starter home the other day for my new save game. It’s in Mt Komorebi and actually replaces Kayla’s old one. I actually really love how mine turned out and it’s super cute and only 25k simoleons. I think the high school pack really helped make it looked very cute and have character while still being really cheap. Like it doesn’t look like a regular boring a starter home. I was really proud of it and I can’t wait to play in it.

For extra difficulty…no base game anything. No window, paint, plants, etc. Everything (besides walls) must be from a pack.

I think she’s said the reason she does it is that she wants as many people as possible to be able to download her builds, not necessarily that she just loves the base game items that much.

I just got out of the hospital, and watching Simsie play the Sims is so comforting and therapeutic. So grateful for all of her content

i would suggest making the reverse of this challenge a tiny home on the tinyest lot but as expencive as possible :)

I think part of the reason she does the budget videos so often is because it limits the number items she can place, so it takes less time to make the video.

I liked the groom-and-bride bunny for the parents' bedroom, as a wall decoration over their bed. It reminds me of some of my friends, who do actually have that cutesy stuff in their real-world home.

Watching Simsie makes my day 110% better

You have to use all the packs if you want a decent house for less than 10000. Base game doors and windows are very expensive. I use the Eco lifestyle windows, they are very cheap

Build challenge: each room is themed after a different time period (past or future)

I’ve already downloaded this house, and put two of them together in the lot. So two families could live next to each other… still under the starter budget! Thank you! And the trees and bin look so cute in the snow ❄️ xx

Do a 2 story $10k starter. Use a ladder. Decide on limited packs ahead of time (maybe eco for the dumpster dive stuff?)

you should allow yourself one build every few weeks or like once a montu where you can use every pack!

Actually a lot of our older furniture is from IKEA but we got it in like the wood option so it looks nicer. Like our dining table looks like it’s made from solid wood and is really nice but it was actually just a cheap one from IKEA 15 years ago.

This has been helpful. I'm fairly new to building in the sims and watching you in real time without a huge speed build has helped me figure out how this is supposed to work.

I love this! My daughter and I have been bonding over sims and watching your videos!

I'm really good at building starter homes. I can build like this all day! Beyond this - especially with more rooms and doing landscaping is where things always go awry. These videos are my favorite bc they're on the level of what I can actually mimic lol.

The good thing about starter homes is that your are limited and people don’t expect something that looks amazing. A starter home that looks like a regular house is considered good. But when you’re given unlimited budget, the expectations become higher and a regular house is no longer good enough. That’s when my lack of abilities start to show.

My friend just got the sims and the first thing she tells me is she made a house. Decorated it. Got ready to start playing. Only to realize she didn’t buy any doors 🤣🤣

Kayla just always makes it possible to do these almost impossible things

My sims was so poor so when I saw this on the gallery it was a life saver! Kayla is making houses cheaper every time 😂. Next challenge will be I built a house for less than 5k 😭😂💕

If you use big foot doll from kit instead teddy bear, it is only 1 simoleons also debug tv/chair/table from eco is cheap.

I feel like part of the problem is that she always picks the boring stuff because she thinks it's cheaper, but it's really not lol! The cottage living windows arent bad and neither are the new high school beds. Im glad she branched out and used nifty knitting stuff because that's exactly what I'm talking about and it really helped make the build more interesting and cute. I do think the Toy Box is more useful than Blarfy though.

High school years makes it so easy to make a nice starter home now! I made one the other day and it doesn’t even look like a starter home because the furniture is so nice and it has lots of character to it while most starter homes are boring. I kinda wish the high school years stuff was more expensive though because it’s so cheap but in real life it would so expensive. Like that furniture looks fancy.

Challenge for simsie. No debug but... She can do whatever she wants, use as many packs she wants and as many money she wants.

Tip: you can still change your sims appearances by going into the simology panel and there is a button that takes you to cas, I’m not sure if this is just for console but I use it all the time

I think if you would use the chest for toys as a nightstand, it would offer more gameplay. And maybe knitting set? It's only 55simoleons, I think. Consider this building challenge: a historically accurate White House. Its bonkers: The main driveway entrance is located on the second floor; the grand staircase twists into four flights between floor 2 and 3; two semicircular bedrooms; and three oval rooms inside semicircular porches. I've been at it for half a week and barely got the walls up. It would be interesting to see how you interpret it.

Google the floorplans. There are four levels. The lowest would be West Wing (oval office and rose garden, 'basement' rooms under driveway)). Level 2 would be the 'state' rooms (State Dining, East Room, Front door). Level 3 would be main residence (Lincoln bedroom, presidents bedroom) and top floor is modern residence rooms kinda 'hidden' on the roof

A kind of tricky challenge. Not counting the base house. You can can only furnished with things you can craft or get through collect (example stuff from dumpsters)

Next challenge. Build a three bedroom two bath, but only furnish the house using paranormal stuff and nifty knitting (can use base game for items you can find. For example, don’t have a tub or toilet you can use base game for those needs.)

Sometimes to save money & keep my sims from burning the house down, I won't include a stove & have them live off salads (or onigiri if u have the snowy Japanese mountain pack I forget the name of lol).
