In the North East there's a different sort of pork pie, which is chunks of pork in a white sauce made into a pie with shortcrust pastry.
Looks great.. I'm sure tasted great... But as a born northerner, that's not a pie! It's a nice beef stew with a pastry lid! 😂
Well Done and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! The most Beautiful and Good looking pie i have ever seen. You did Incredible Lee. No matter what You ate Everything. It was the Desperate Dan Cowpie for real. What an Amasing Establishment with a Good atmosphere, very Friendly staff, Super menu and looks like You really enjoyed that meal. You deserved that Certificate of Achievement. I could have eaten that pie, but i would have taken my time and savoured every mouthful. What a Great place to visit and sample it's Excellent Cuisine and Ambience.
Well Done Lee. There is no way I could have eaten all that. Hope you're taking care of your health ❤❤
we went about 5 years ago & I completed the Cow Pie challenge even though the owner kept taking the piss !!! it was very memorable , we all had a great time & I got the certificate !!! surprisingly I did not feel bloated at the end it was such good food , Mad O'Roukes is a must visit place.
Nooooo! It's a casserole...not a pie! I was hoping that it would be what I define as a proper pie....with pastry sides and bottom! I would still love to have it, though!
Leah would have eat four of them to your one and she is like 9 stone. Incredible woman.
That is the best pie I have seen in my life. Steak and kidney also my favourite so I will be visiting that place when I'm in the area. Thanks for sharing.
Just found this Lee.I ran a business in the Black Country and when I was having business lunches and dinners,I took my clients there for an authentic Black Country meal. They loved it and I made my biggest contract while a client ate a Desperate Dan pie and a pint of Lump Hammer and that’s the truth.
Plug was my comic. Loved the 'sort of' free gifts. Plug reminds me of Lee!!
Lee. PORK PIES SHOULD BE EATEN COLD and theBEST are MELTON MOWBRAY and STILTON CHEESE comes from MELTON as well.
One of the things I inherited from my dad when he passed away a few years ago was his pile of Beano and Dandy annuals. He still loved reading them even up to when he died at 69.
our summer is so crap. before we know it the leaves will be falling
Hi Lee, well done on finishing that desperate Dan pie. The only thing you needed with it was some Henderson’s relish from Sheffield 👍 And also in Sheffield we have our pork pies cold 😃
In Rotherham have cold pork pie with HP! In Barnsley have it warm with gravy or mushy peas or onions soaked in vinegar. My family in Cornwall have cold pork pie with tomato ketchup! All different!
Thats convinced me to visit and try the cow pie. I only live a mile or so away from Mad O'R but never been there since it became a theme pub. In the days when it was The Doughty Arms, i often had my lunch in there, usually beefburger egg and chips.washed wown with a pint before I went back to work. Its changed quite a bit!
These guys have been going for ages but they have great other dishes too. Best (if they still do it) is a mixed grill on a shovel end!
Homemade meat and potato pie. Steak and ale if I’m out. I’m from Yorkshire and pork pies normally eaten cold, even when served in a bowl and covered with hot mushy pies. A van used to come round in the 50s but you had to supply your own bowl and they would fill it! Happy days again.
Nice One Pal👍.
I'm originally from up there I lived 15 mins from the pie factory I was in coseley .

Coseley 15 minutes.. two minutes max
You win the prize for the shortest memory on KZread. You have eaten and enjoyed Scotch Pie on your run to Skye. And I liked Lord Snooty and his pals.
My OCD just went into overdrive "If pies were a religion this would be it's cathedral". Oh god.
I used to get Beezer on Tuesday and the Beano on Thursday! Then I’d swap comics with my best mate so I also saw the Dandy and Topper. Happy days!
Pork pie cold. Or if just been cooked it's nice warm. Scotch pie A big thing is steak pie at hooggmany
As a Beano/Dandy fan you'll need to visit Dundee (home of DC Thomson comics). There are even some statues of Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx in the town centre.
Technically speaking that's not a pie, its a bowl of beef stew topped with pastry, still looks good though
Pommy food is underated ,fish n chips, pies washed down with beer, it's what a man needs to catch convicts, fight Zulus and plunder ,really excellent !!!
Nothing like a moist horn, besides that the pie looked delicious.
Noooooo !!!!! Pork pies always cold 😂
They used to have 3 places in the Black Country and Staffordshire /Shropshire border.
I haven't been there for 35 years - last time was the night of the Lockerbie disaster. (21/Dec/1988). IT HASN'T CHANGED A BIT!!
Love the Pie Factory. Have tried everything on the menu over the years.
“The correct order of meals is breakfast, lunch or luncheon as it is technically called, and then dinner.” According to Will the Expert, tea comes between the midday and evening meals, and is a spread of afternoon tea with things like finger sandwiches and scones.

Breakfast or brunch depending on what time you're up or are on a fasting eating schedule, lunch, tea (afternoon tea) dinner supper...and midnight snack if you must 🙄
Stew with pastry on top. A pie should be enclosed in pastry and be able to be picked up by hand. Old school I know.
Beautiful pie mate and I'd happily finish that. As a Brummie i will vouch that the Black Country not so far from Brum do actually do the best pies in the Midlands. 10/10 that mate. Great vlog again👍👍👍
Keep meaning to go myself and I'm not far away, looked amazing Lee, well done ✅
Meat pies warm! Pork pies 🥧 cold! 👍🏻
Mint sauce and mushy peas with that but a smaller version for me . I've never heard of a warmed up pork pie been a Yorkshire girl always cold with pickles bread cheese and salad.
You’ve done well there. I love a pie but I find even small ones heavy. Much love from Oxford.
Lee that pie looks absolutely delicious 4LB of meat that’s some feast, you definitely not need supper. Love the surroundings really authentic, well done on finishing it 👏👏👏 a definitely 10 and a 10+ for you finishing the pie 🏴👍
Congratulations Lee!🎉 This Pie looks absolutely delicious and you my Friend did conquer it. It also shows that good quality food doesn't need brown or any other sauce. Next time wait for the food to cool down. At room temperature you can eat a lot more. I'm on call so sorry for skipping the driving over part
Nice One Lee 👍👍❤️❤️That looked really good 😀😀Quality products and nice staff 👍👍
❤❤❤ How cool I love The Beard meets Food he is crazy and a very good musician as well. But your my favorite Vlogger so Let’s Go…
"I'm desperate Dan". Lovd the Yosser Hughes reference.
Great pub, and you can stay in one of their rooms, the sign says 4 on suite and 3 nearly on suite 😂
I did this challenge back in around ‘89 - like you said the horns are the hardest part - great channel mate
Scotch pie from Watsons of Shaw street Govan and both from Yorkes of Dundee (home of Desperate Dan) a Scotch Steak pie and a Mince round pie Oh and a pie beans and a pint at the Horseshoe Bar Glasgow is legendary😊
I regularly eat here, it's just up the road from where i live.I have to say the food is stand alone.Tastiest food in the midlands and still good value.
Nice one Lee,glad you did it,by the way I love your YamYam accent it did have a hint of Brummie in it! Warlord was a separate comic and I was in that club as well as the Fireball club that was in Bullet comic.
Used to be a Victor fan. Was also a U.N.C.L.E. Agent. Cannot beat a Steak & Kidney,Steak & Ale ,next. best
Did you just say "hoosh maddoo" 😂😂 Beard/Adam says "Let's get it" lol I just made the old lady next to me on the bus jump because I literally laughed out loud 😂
Rurkes ? It’s Rourkes rhymes with Forks !
Looks fantastic. A must for us Dandy fans (and Beano, I suppose) and anybody who likes pie.
Down south i call it lunch and dinner
If I'm being honest, I love them both ways! Sometimes a fresh butchers pork pie bought when it's still warm is a delicious treat 😋
I was a member of Lord Peter Flint's team too! It was from Warlord which was a separate comic. We were given a fake leather pass card folder with a W on the front. Classic times. Love the old war comics like Warlord and Commando.. Commando is still going! Can you believe that! Another great video Mr Mac and looking well Sir!
Warlord was a separate comic from the Dandy etc. I still have all the Warlord annuals & my Warlord secret agent wallet & codebook in a suitcase in my lock up somewhere! I’m erm 56 years old!!😳😳👍😂
That pie looked fabulous lovely old school baking cracking delicious pastry. I’m going to Blackpool on the 21st September for the annual weekend break and will be visiting Yorkshire fisheries but also wish there was cracking pie shop like this would really top the weekend off , keep up the top notch review videos buddy 👍

Yorkshire fisheries on topping street is the best chippy in Blackpool and you can dine in also…fish and chips from there and a few pints in ma Kelly’s a lovely combination
The beezer was my favourite. And the numskulls usually on the front.
As a Northerner we call our meal's Dinner and Tea as Lunch and Dinner are for Southerens or for posh people Lee as this always gets my goat !!! Xx

My "Mamgu" / Grandmother's words - "amser brecwast, amser cinio, amser te ac amser swper, " / breakfast time , dinner time , teatime time and supper time, by'ere in Cymru /Wales - That's how I remember it - mind most of the 'welshies are way too anglicised now 😞 "Druan" / Pity
My fave was the beano! I'd love to see you, Leah Shutkever and Beard meats food do a video together. Doesn't have to be a food challenge, but would be fun ❤
The Warlord comic was produced by DC Thomson of Dundee, my home city. They also produced Beano, Dandy, Beezer, Hotspur, Commando comic, Blue Jean's, Patches, Bunty, Topper, Oor Wullie to name just a few....cheers
Looks very nice. Bet it tasted good, too. 😋
Brilliant my friend
When I was a little girl growing up in the 70s i loved BUNTY AND JACKIE but because I had no male siblings I remember my cousins reading the BEANO! I also remember FRAY BENTOS pie with homemade chips peas and gravy yummy 😋 yummy 😋
Dinner and tea
Got to try it with battered chips. A Black Country speciality...well done
I am from the UK and had several holidays on Tenerife and have never heard of the world famous rum pot lol
Love Desperate Dan and his Cow pies used to and still love Dandy and Beano… got to try this place!
LEE as a black country lad born and bread. For a Mansfield/Yorkshire lad I Am so proud of you. A few years ago I had eaten one of those now sense I Had a stomach operation I shall have To have a doggie bag to take back home.
I’m a proud member of the Desperate Dan Pie Eating Club! Joined about 45 years ago.
Hi Lee it's excellent ther they had a chain of them one was colled the sausage factory 👌👍 was there Sunday
WOW! What a pie. I was going to suggest a Branson pickle onion with it, but maybe the pie itself was enough. Great vlog, Lee.😊.
That video. Made me so hungry. I feel like doing a road trip from Havant in south England. 177 mile trip To that pie factory. ❤.
Breakfast dinner tea. The reason I believe that the midday meal is dinner is because when we were at school the ladies that came in to serve the midday meal were referred to as dinner ladies. Anyway we love the pie factory and try to go there every few months. Best to go there for a cow pie if you are particularly hungry. Always full of meat. For those not keen on kidney there is a kidney free version available, but I believe you have to contact them a day before your visit to order one. Last Christmas they had a turkey pie that was a similar size to the cow pie and that one was stuffed to the brim with delicious turkey. It was banging. For those that like a soft drink with their meal the coke available at the bar is absolutely delicious.
It's not in Wolverhampton
used to be a place in wigan tha made and sold cow pie very nice it was too
Good looking pie, good effort to finish it too.
Bloody good effort Lee,much more than I could manage and to be honest I didn’t think you’d get that far 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm from the US. I road fence and punched cows. A cow pie came from the back end of a cow. We let them git dry and used the for fire wood, as we had no trees there. They heated up many a pot pie of peas carrots and dead cow. Now that is what a cow pie is good for. I tryed to put some humor in what we really did back then. Glad your cow pie is not like mine. :)
That looked amazing. Never been, and I only live a few miles away in Walsall. Must try.
Have a pie at the Crown in Hartest, Suffolk 😋😋😋 although they've stopped doing them for summer
i live in the black country and never been there but i will be going, but macmaster please go to Ivans fish and chip shop in Cradley
Wow that looks so delicious 😋, will try it myself, and Diddley Squat 🤟
The Beano for me Roger the Dodger for me and the pie 10//10
Liked all the characters you mentioned, plus Keyhole Kate, and the Bash St Kids. Rag pudding my favourite, Skipton in Yorkshire, the famous pork pie shop sells them warm, bloody delicious. I to was a member of the Warlord club, Peter Flint. Warlord was its own comic when I got it. Dinner and tea for me. Have to have chips and Mushy peas with it. Should have started with the pastry, dunk in the gravy.. That menu looked fantastic. Well done on completing the challenge.
Will have to give this a try you have made me hungry Lee
Love the blackboard telling you where products come from.. goodness would feed two!! You looked ready to burst, well done you. Surprised you fitted in your ev after...
Favourite comics of the 70s. Action and 2000AD
Well Done Lee,no way I could have finished that
beardy would do 3 or 4 of them
Yes Lee Warlord was a separate comic (I have the 1984 annual, remember when we got them for Christmas in the 70's and 80's) . Being a Geordie I loved your Auf Weidersehen Pet bit and your Barry Voice was spot on lol. Never in doubt you finishing that Lee but it didn't look like 4lbs worth.
That pie looked brilliant bang on how a pie should look like desperate Dan would have been proud this took my back to watching man vs food how long did it take from ordering to table
Well done mate we saw you finnish it off and took your photo the secret is to eat the horns first because they are so dry
Love pie factory I live local the chips are nice too
Steak and ale pie, chunky chips and minted garden peas. The best. The pork pie thing.... pork pies are best cold with a bit of chilli jam on the side. Fantastic
What an amazing pie, choc a bloc with meat, veg and gravy. Pastry looked great. Yes some HP required. You did well eating the whole thing. What more can I say, 10/10 Lunch and Dinner.
The pie looks yummy!!!
When my CT scan showed liver problems a few years back, this wasn’t the kind of response I made. Everything in moderation, but doing this kind of thing so soon is pushing your luck!
