    I guess we should dicuss how bad that will be 😂 Just like i we know MDB, he will most likely get 5 hits outside of every major battle and in major battles just 2, at highest! He would go even under the lowest possible number with his bad luck he has sometimes. I guess it will be bad!

  • @numbernumber25

    @numbernumber25

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jand1993 I believe that is quite an overstatement, around 2/3 of the multi-hit list contains moves that have accuracy under 100. 7 of the 9 more common multi-hit moves have accuracy below 100. Honestly the only way I see this run going well is that the pokemon that are using these moves must either have an ability that guarantees the amount of hits, an ability that boosts Pokemon attacks base power, or just increases critical hit ratio. The only pokemon I really know may be a contender would be Scyther, Beedrill, or Clefairy. Probably other Pokemon that have better abilities that could work well with multi-hit attacks.

  • @jand1993

    @@numbernumber25 i'm aware that most of these attack have a power of 15-20 and an accuracy of 85. I know, several pokemon can increase the power of moves with a power of under 50% (like scyther) or can increase the number of hits overall. With those it is most likely possible. I meant it will be bad in terms like other runs. Not magicarp bad or metronome-only or that, but like mono type runs or trades only at the beginning. With the luck he has had several times, this will be tough in my opinion

    One thing I'll say - while you say "nobody wants to see me grind for hours.." - The story is still fascinating, to get a sense of scale and time that you invested (suffered?) through repeated attempts. It's why I enjoy when people have a timer in their challenges - suddenly they have 5 more hours on the clock, that they don't even mention sometimes ^^

    I love these team challenges. I think maybe it would be interesting to see MDB use more Gym Leader/Elite Four teams like he did for Bruno. Like I know he's done Onix runs before, but how does the run/strategy change if you do Brock and bring both Onix and Geodude? It would allow you to take self-destruct for geodude.

    I love my HM-slaves in my ruby/Sapphire playthroughs (Linoone; Tropius; Wailord; and sometimes I even use a Pelipper for in-betweening the "early" part of the run), I once even forgot to switch out my Wailord (nicknamed> Jonah) before the elite four that only had> surf; dive; & waterfall. (I saved in the opening chamber so I couldn't take it back) I ended up trying to use it as a sacrifice in the Steven battle but it lived, then I attacked and actually won the battle because of it!! Scary in the moment but definitely a fun memory to tell people for sure!!!

Plus if I remember right, it can use a tom of tms

    Challenge suggestion: You're allowed a full team, but between the six Pokemon, none of the Pokemon are allowed to share a move type For example, if one Pokemon knows a fire, normal, steel, and flying move then none of the other five are allowed any of those move types Probably easier in newer generations due to expanded move pool, probably harder in older generations when one may be scarping the barrel for move type variety

    The way I normally build teams for the Main Game is: Fire-Water-Grass core, Flying(or something that can learn Fly if nothing else is available) then the last two are up in the air, and I try not to have overlap in types; all that said because I normally use Linoone and Mightyena in Hoenn, but yeah Linoone is great, not amazing by any means but better than one would expect from an Early Game Rodent
