You dodge Scorpioness Najka by standing on the rock platforms and you do not need to dodge or anything like that. You literally just stand there.

without even watching the video i can confirm that it is possible. The first time I played ds2 I didnt know what adaptability was, so I forgot about it and never leveled it up. I reached the end of the game, and only after I completed the game, and watched "completing dark souls 2 raising only ADP" did i regret not knowing it

Yeah I was honestly surprised by the feedback by many, when I first played ds2 I was told to level it up but I didn't realize how many people didn't actually level it up lol

not really a monolothic feat or anything i beat it on my first playthrough without leveling ADP at all because i had no fucking idea what it did

Funnily enough, DS2 was my first souls game ever and I only learned about the effects of ADP years after first completed runs. And no, I never bothered leveling that stat... xD

You should, don't let the haters dissuade you, it has so many redeeming factors that not only mitigate the flaws, but that no other Souls games have.

Man I played halfway the game without leveling up adp untill I searched up what it did

14:15 When she goes underground, I believe that you can dodge the attack by standing on that chunk of stone near the middle of the arena. I remember fighting her for the first time a long time ago and the first thing that came to mind was standing on a rock like it was Tremors when she did that lol

I'm playing dark souls 2 for the first time and when I got in I decided I wasn't going to level up adaptability at all. Same thing with vigor. When I beat dsr for the first time like a week ago I didn't level Vitality once. Ain't nothin to it, I'm just an egg.

I beat both versions without leveling it up because I didn't know what the stat did and I just learned how to abuse mechanics and AI.

Btw, Freya's laser is almost impossible to dodge even with ADP - just gotta use your legs.

Easy way to do this is by levelling attunement and that will level your agility/s.

@@AtreyusNinja Yeah, lol, it allowed me to create a powerful hex-pyromancer with 60 atn, 60 int, and 60 faith with no levels in the rest of the stars whatsoever and I had plenty of i-frames. People just need to be more attentive. Although, it is also true that From's games have always had issues with clarity of their mechanics and UI.

Seriously, more people need to see this video. It shows so well how so much of DS2 can be handled by just... Being in the right spot when enemies attack. Obviously, adaptability is gonna be "mandatory" to people who never had to learn about positioning and mindfulness, but as someone who played DS2 first, i prefer the combat by so much because you aren't forced to dodge though the majority of attacks! just stand in the right spot and you wont get hit, especially with how well made so many of the hitboxes are!

to be honest he had 3 adp. Most start with 8 to 15 i think. those numbers are much much better and aren't even a challenge. He should rename video "playing dark souls 2 with 3 adp"

@@mechaSurge oh, well that is true. But from a logistic standpoint calling it a challenge is actually pretty smart, and the view count proves it. It's his most viewed video by far. Ds2 with no ADP is not a challenge. But so many people have a twisted view of how DS2 and ADP works that they genuinely think it is, so they click on this video to see how it goes only to realise that they have a gross misconception of the game and it's functions. So beyond getting a lot of views, it's also forced a lot of people to change their perception of DS2 and ADP which is very, very good.

If u only played it a few times it's quite impressive, good job

if you level Attunement you get agility as well and it can get up to 110 with 99, so adp isn’t really needed

Najka's burrow attack can be avoided by standing on the floor structure. She cant unburrow under it.

Funny how I litterally done it three time before even know whats the utility of ADP ( I was only 7 when i finish my first ds2 run that can explain )

I didn’t know what that stat was when I first played so I never leveled it up and I found out on the last boss what ADP meant

Of course the answer is yes … but you make the adventure very entertaining through your storytelling. Fun watch :) I feel like a miserable but often overlooked part of low agility is the slower item use animations. But only 5 s at that minimum is atrocious.

For future reference, leveling the scaling stats for your weapons after reaching the requirements is pretty much worthless since the scaling is terrible. If you'd look to maximize damage you'd infuse it with Lightning, get the requirements for Dark Weapon and level FTH from then on

that's... painfully wrong. that's triple split damage. enjoy doing no damage. there's no reason to not level your weapon's main stat to the soft cap. You'll get way more damage by having only one damage type on your weapon rather than 3.

fun fact: i finished the game with 3 ADP wihout knowiing what it does

15:38 the broken straight sword is a starting weapon for the warrior class, and was given reasonable damage values as a result. It’s a completely viable weapon

is there a reason you leveled up Vitality to 28 yet didn't change armor sets till the end? I assume for some physical defense but I'm surprised you didn't take advantage of that higher vitality with heavier pieces of armor throughout the run... or upgrade the armor you were currently wearing, at the very least.

I beat it only with a bow and no leveling something and it isn't hard. And now!?

it boost AGL stat which boost invicibility frames on dodge and backsteb , makes siping estus faster , it may affect more stuff . attunemnt boost AGL too with much less degree

@@GameitMicah Fair enough. xD When standing next to a bonfire, you can cycle through the actions and one of those is lighting your torch. Speaking of which, some people did the torch-run in which you start off with the torch burning as soon as you reach the bonfire in things betwixt and keep it on you at all time. It has a timer and only allows you to have a one-handed weapon for that whole run. xP

I beat it the first (second? I did delete my first profile) time without leveling vigour cos it looked like a bad stat return for a level at the time, in heavy armour and fat rolling, just, with a greatshield, bluemoon greatsword, heide knight sword, chariot lance, and i think pyromancies and lightning spears, some kind of bow or crossbow, i think the shield crossbow and avelyn, too at some point i used these all. I had no idea what scaling was but thankfully, the bluemoon greatsword is great for if you don't know what scaling is, because it has none most of the time. There's a very good chance I didn't level ADP, considering that, but i don't remember.

Aren't most classes start with like 8 or 10 adp? Your adp level feels wrong.

Adp is not a big deal, tbh. I've played up to NG+4 without putting a single point into it, i didn't even knew what it did until way, waaay later. Good video, tho 👌

Miyazaki said that "I think without it, we wouldn't have had a lot of the connections and a lot of the ideas that went forward and carried the rest of the series." meaning, as much as ppl didn't want DS2 to be a thing, without it, we wouldn't get DS3 or Elden Ring

Yeah, you can, it’s not that difficult. I see a lot of people saying you need to level ADP in DS2 but I’ve been playing this game since release and have never once touched that stat, the default roll has more than enough s to avoid anything.

Yes. Absolutely. You don't need ADP to beat the game, even multiple times :) This is exactly, what I do. ADP is the last thing I put my points. Useless to me Just a good movement million times better than adp or any other bs :) trust me on my ng++++++++++++++++++++++
