Honestly my favorite souls challenge runner at this point. Really funny without being obnoxious, and you always manage to edit play-throughs down to a watchable length without it feeling like it’s on too much of a fast-forward. Great timing on this one since I finally got around to beating Bloodborne for the first time 2 weeks ago, so I was able to actually appreciate this one. I guess now I’ll have to go back and revisit your previous Bloodborne videos 🤷‍♀️

One of the obscure thing about Blades of Mercy is that they attack faster with every consecutive double hand R1 attack. Making it a very powerful weapon against hunters that can be stunlocked. With a big stamina bar, you can do up to 12 attacks without stopping

The slow-mo Ludwig death absolutely killed me. I replayed it a couple times and I'd like to think that his little front foot kicked you into range of his sword. It seems less aggravating than the idea of a ridiculously unfair hitbox!

I really hope one day you'll do a playthrough using only the piledriver weapon

As a low stat build it sure would be nice if we could trade gems like weapons. 10% Nourishing w/ 72 flat arc gems would be great for this as you would have over 240 arc damage. At +10 that over 430 AR which is really nutty for basically 0 investment as it's on par with the cleaver at 453 with poormans. Probably the only thing I wish we could do if they ever made a remake of BB that way we can farm gems on one account then set up other accounts for speed runs with a truly optimize build.

To be fair other weapons have attack power that goes up when attacking. In fact because of that 4th hit thing this weapon arguably doesn't even fit that category. For example with the axe R1 combo in the standard state each hit does more than the last

I have a Challenge idea For DS1 cause i was messing around with weapons when one caught my eye, The Great Sword of Artorias specifically the two-handed R2, it's extremely slow would say it's slower then two-handed R2 of the abyss greatsword and has a tendency to miss even though you were right in front of the enemy's face, Just throwing this out there and love your content :>

True, the crow set has very low beasthood so one of the worst sets to wear for proper build up. But hey that also means she can deal with it and not succumb to bloodlust

I did a blades of mercy run WITH level ups and i found it rough, I'd never want to do this, my first Laurence fight was with blades and it was painful. Though i did get orphan on third try

The reason early game bosses are resistant to arcane damage is because they lack Insight. Obviously, enemies and bosses like the dogs, cleric beast, commoners, beast men, and Gascoigne are not particularly attuned to a higher plane. Therefore they suffer very little damage due to their lack of exposure to such forces. Meanwhile a lot of late game bosses have high Insight, therefore making them more susceptible to those kinds of things. It’s a very Lovecraftian explanation where beasts and lower folk are much less easily enraptured and corrupted than scholars and practitioners of the occult.

Well nice idea, but I don't this actually holds up if you compared the arcane resistance of everything in the game. For example, why would the one reborn and Martyr Logarius explicitly have the highest arcane resistance of anything in the game? Why would the mace shadow have higher arcane resistance than the other two? Why do Orphan and Ebrietas have high arcane resistance and Amygdala and moonpresence low? Why does Ludwig have lower arcane resistance in his beast form but higher when he regains his humanity, the opposite of Gascoigne. And so forth. I don't think resistances work that way.

I believe that they could derive an individual explanation for each single enemy with its relationship with the arcane where the beasts are what is furthest from the arcane because it is the complete abandonment towards blood rather than towards enlightenment while humans are particularly fragile to the shocks of the mysteries of the darkness of the cosmos

for the One reborn I have two opposing theories on the one hand it is an experimental subject who was forcibly made to ascend and the result is catastrophic resulting in a stupid creature completely devoid of intellect therefore almost insensitive to the arcane on the other hand it could have been constructed in this way precisely to resist the power of the other divinities who would have opposed the ascension for the martyr perhaps far from the real cosmic horrors and close to the contamination of the blood it has developed an arcane resistance by being contaminated itself with the impure blood probably by holding back too much close to the queen he became an empty and mindless shell animated only by a goal and therefore insensitive to arcane forces

ebrietas and the orphan on the other hand are two beings of direct divine derivation and therefore permeated by arcane power which makes them powerful against it like radagon who is extremely resistant to sacred damage as he masters it perfectly

Kinda feel like you should have allowed leveling, but only points in skill. Would represent her... well, skill. While the weak hp and stamina could represent her age induced weakness. Still loved the video though!

Actually no because skill in that sense wouldn't come from a stat. Also of course the actual premise of the run is to do a minimal stats run with the blades of mercy, just like before with the Logarius wheel.

With my blades of mercy i noticed these stun a lot. Just r1 spammed the bootleg nazgul

Well technically yesterday, but yeah it's been public for less than an hour

I might be pedantic *and* recalling wrong, but isn't the "no levels" thing kind of no-canon in the sense of "Age has no bearing on skill, only appearance?" I always saw it as Eileen, (and the other hunters) aging despite the presence of the Hunter's Dream, and that she only ended up dying because at that point she didn't have access to the Hunter's Dream anymore, and hence a fatal wound was actually fatal? Now does this only interefere with the "lore" of this? Yes. Is it a cool run to watch? Also yes.

To be clear, this run is simply the equivalent of a BL4 run but with the blades of mercy. And since you don't have stat boosting gear in this game, it's BL6 instead of BL4. That's what the run is about. Everything else about Eileen is just for presentation sake. Nothing else.

@@PressContinue As I said, I was being pedantic because for me the biggest draw of Bloodborne is the lore. I also meant that comparing no or few levels with Eileen's "I'm old so I'm not doing as well as I used to" was contrary to the "age has no bearing..." thing, and that her not doing as well seemed to be more connected to her lacking access to the Hunter's Dream. Again, just being pendanting about the lore basis presented.
