@@NathanielBandy A part of me is not okay when I remember the Reddit mob constantly being negative towards Super Mario All-Stars (SNES) by making them sound like (literal) poor men's versions of the original trilogy (or quadrilogy if you count both versions of Super Mario Bros. 2) instead of improvements (save for Super Mario Bros. 3 even though I like its otherwise flawed predecessors save for The Lost Levels, but then again, we all love every version of SMB3 with a burning passion except for maybe the bootleg on the Game Boy Colour).

I've never beaten Tubular the intended way. I always go the route of: Get a blue Yoshi, get a feather, leap of faith to catch a koopa in Blue yoshi's mouth, and fly to the end

There’s a mathematically optimal way to get all the Standees. Buy the random Standee until you get 96 Standees total. Then buy the rest of the standees in the special world. This works because 96 is 2/3 of 144. Which means at 97, it’ll take about three attempts to get a new Standee if you get a random Standee. That means you’ll, on average, require about 30 coins to get a new Standee when you have 96 Standees. And you’ll require even more coins for anything above 97.

Nathan basically turned the entire first part of the video into a “How Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels TRIGGERS you!” Video.

Fun fact: the physics in The Lost Levels are altered slightly so Mario can bounce higher off of enemies he stomps on, so he's comparable to Luigi.

its really nice to see a challenge like this where its clear that while tiring you actually enjoyed it and were positive throughout (I want to make it clear that this is the first of your marathon vids I have watched). it was a joy to watch

The thing that gets me is just how pretty Super Mario All Stars is. Those backdrops for SMB1/Lost Levels are absolutely top notch, the night-time backdrops in particular have always been some of my favorites and it's a shame that no games have ever really borrowed from SMAS' overall aesthetic choices.

Agreed. The music is great too. And there's even a rom hack that corrects the physics of smb1 and lost levels back to how they were on NES which imo makes it the definitive way to play those games

Desert Hills and Airship Fortress are based on the All-stars version of SMB3 while Mushroom Kingdom II in Melee is based on the All-Stars version of SMB2.

Props to you and simple flips because this is an insane challenge I never thought anybody would even try to achieve. I tried something similar for Mega Man (without streaming but still) and I almost felt like I was gonna lose my thumb after it. Fantastic video!

It feels absolutely amazing to relive these 2 weeks of craziness. The two of you provided for some great entertainment that will live on for a long time. When I eventually start my content creation/livestreaming journey, this'll be one of the very things I do, with some added challenges, of course! Can't wait for the Sonic video, too, as I think that'll be pretty interesting!

It's mind blowing that even after learning about this franchise for my whole 24 years of life, I'm still discovering things about it.

Nathaniel is pushing himself so hard in these marathon Challenge's,props to him

So I did the math. I combined the current 100% world records for every 2D and 3D Mario game (except SMB Deluxe cuz I couldn't find it) into a playlist. Then I added up each of the WR times from each video into a calculator (I added them by minutes, so the times that were over an hour I just added 60 or 120 or whatever to the calculation) I can't remember the exact number of the calculation, but when I converted the minutes to days, it said it was 2.898997998989897979 (I can't remember the number but it was just a bunch of random decimals). So basically, if you're as skilled as all the 100% WR speedrunners out there, it'll probably take you around *just under 3 days* to 100% every 2D and 3D Mario game. Also if you're wondering: the shortest game is Super Mario Land (12 mins) and the longest is Super Mario Galaxy (11 hours)

Considering how long SMB Deluxe took you, however, it's safe to say that it might take a little over 3 days. Which is still crazy, as it's not even half a week.

I've been watching all your videos and man just dedicating +10 hours a day to very similar games would drain me out, kudos to you, btw its late now since you have already done this but I find that the 8Bitdo SN30 Pro is fantastic for this kind of games, since it mantains the original shape and feeling, but also gives you a stick so you can "rest" when necessary, would have helped for the first couple Super Mario games

This was a fun marathon to be a part of. You and Simple are mad lads for doing this marathon, but really appreciate you both keeping me entertained throughout most, if not, all the 2 weeks.

Major respect for you and Simpleflips taking on this long challenge, streaming made it even more fun, hope to see more of this in the future! 🙏

I wish you showed when simple's chat told him about how to grind for points in deluxe and advance 2. The tricks he use was pretty interesting. Great video nonetheless

I loved lost levels. It was like if they carried on the difficulty at the end of the first one right at the beginning of the second one. And finding it was such a cool moment. It was like finding an alternate dimension where they made a sequel to one of my all time favorite games. I thoroughly enjoyed it and its challenge.

I was watching this one guys video on 2D Mario and he preferred The Lost Levels to Super Mario World. It’s like that only makes sense if the one thing you care about is challenge. Was so baffling that it’s kinda nice to put this on and be reminded of the reasonable consensus. I’m all for interesting different takes on games, but some are so ridiculous that they’re antithetical to everything I like about a series.

This was exciting to see Nathaniel and SimpleFlips both succeed in this marathon!

Super Mario Bros 2 Japan is actually one of my favorite 2d marios. 😂😂 I grew up with the original smb 1 and played it to the point it was too easy, so when I found out about Super Mario Bros 2 Japan on the virtual console it was an amazing gift and like a more challenging Super Mario Bros 1 but with a greater and more fun difficulty.

I never knew that you had to beat all of the bosses again if you got a game over in the final level in Super Mario Land 2. That's one of my favorite 2D Mario games, so that's crazy. The reason I think this is the case is so that once you have a game over you have an opportunity to gain some skill before fighting the boss in the final level, so you can get coins and 1-ups in these levels... and to pad out the game...

since you skipped Yoshi's Island, you should attempt to 100% all Yoshi games in a week. Yoshi's Island for SNES, Yoshi's Island Super Mario Advance 3, Yoshi's Story, Yoshi's Island DS, Yoshi's New Island, Yoshi's Woolly World, Yoshi's Crafted World, Yoshi Topsy Turvy,
