    The "Is it 'real' racing?" question is asked by people who don't get in to slot cars or racing in general. The definition of "racing" or "A race" is straight forward and doesn't need to be rehashed here. Is slot car racing "easier" than say 1:1 scale stock car racing? Sure. That doesn't mean it requires no skill or effort. Slot car racing fits every general definition of racing no matter what you think of slot cars or _any_ kind of model car racing. It's as simple as that.

    I started to get back in to state HO racing in Fl. the drivers are helpful they have a few classes all the tires you have to have for different tracks get overwhelming and the cars are so fast (vipers and wizards ) but I still like the 1/24 and the bigger tracks

    Slotcars may be small but the egos of slotcar racers are just as big or bigger than other kinds of racing. Competitive stuff.

    Yeah that's also a big thing about what he's about to say and always hard when you ain't got hobbies stores I got to order and wait for parts or something to wear. If I had a hobby store I can just go in and get it now to where I don't have to wait two or three days. Maybe forget about all. Damn my my parts are here and now I can play with my stuff again 😄

    Damn man when you I can't remember your name dude but when I first seen you and you was talking about it, you know slot cars. They told us I realized you. You were very knowledgeable. I mean I'd play with these when I was little man real little. You know like the 70s and pro one cars tychoes. I realize you were very knowledgeable. Knew what you was talking about and I respected that. You know coming as I was born in the 64 and play with Deez when I was little and I realized you were very comfortable man, which you know I can respect that because you know if you was just some person that didn't really know too much or anything I wouldn't really watch you on here. Let me just say honestly you're very nice a bowl. And yeah you know like you said man, you give people keeping it alive. That's the best way to say. You know there's people out here keeping it alive. That is knowledgeable about all that. That's the good thing. All right. Can't knock anyone for being good. That's just dumb that isn't. That doesn't even make sense in my logical mind in this effed up world and that's just being honest 🏁🏎️🛻👍

    I have a passion for "drifting" ie tycopro brass chassis and the nonmagnatraction 3 and 4 gear cars, some tjets

    @danpawp7879 excellent. I'm right there with you. The brass pan tycos are great. I'm into the non magna chassis more as well. I've got a lot of t jets as well. I wish autoworld would bring back the non ultra g chassis. I modified them by taking out the extra magnet immediately. The go on to fine tune the chassis so they run right. I just built an extra non magna chassis and got a unpainted 69 charger body so I could put a General Lee together for racing. Don't want my original one to get damaged lol. Put a 4 gear drag armature in her. She boogies.

    I don't know how popular "American Line" was 30 years ago but they sold ugly as hell indy cars with a tjet chassis that was "Special" Cuz it was pure silver, so I went crazy buying mean green arms, super 2 mags, silicone coated foam tires, and Johnny lightnin chevelle and mustang bodies, 3 out of 7 will actually deslot themselves pulling wheelies, that was the few tjets I mentioned that i love to drift

    @danpawp7879 they where around back then but not a lot of my friends knew about them. It's funny you mentioned pulling wheelies. I did the same thing 😆. I've got a 57 nomad and a couple of others I've hopped up including a chevelle that do that. I've got a thing with putting drag armatures in 3 gear non magna traction chassis.

    If you have a bad day racing slot cars that's because I crashed. I broke the chassis and now I'm upset. Other than that, it's real fun and actually is a great way to spend today, especially with your kids and family 🏎️🚗🏁❗👍

    Wow. Just WOW! Where do you get your FRAY tires now a days? About 10 years ago a friend and I spent a long weekend at Don Bourne's building skinny tire cars. He was working on the tires for the FRAY and let us have some. I have not been able to find any since that were as good.

    Oh yeah dude like you said man you know a lot of people that's getting into this. Yeah yard sales, flea markets. You know these little drift stores. Yeah go in there and check them out. See what you can find cuz sometimes you can find some pretty good stuff. I found a lot of well right now I'm in Virginia and they got the antique mall here and on the upstairs level of it cuz it's pretty big place man they have you know like all their toys you know from GI Joe you think of it they probably got it but back to the topic I found some pretty interesting cars. You know that they need a little clean up or whatever, but nothing major. Actually, I found a rare real rare Tycho and I watched her video on all the chassis of Tyco brass pan pro 1 and all of them as far as that scale of Tycho and you did say there was one or two real rare ones that you you know. Wish you have one. I found one that had like the AFX the shoes on it and the chassis is man. It's weird but I got it running and everything and I had it. I like decals and customizing my little cars so I added some little model like a six pack. The car thing glued to the hood. The fountain vintage model t. The body was metal but I used the roof off of it and put it on that. I think it came out pretty sweet. Might have to send you a picture of it if I can. Ain't good over all this technical stuff at times as far as that goes. But yeah man you can find some pretty good stuff. And I found well. You looked on eBay $100 cars you know for like 15 maybe 20 bucks. As they say put a little spit sound on them. They're good to go 🏁🛻🏎️👍

  • @chuckvarisco9962
    @chuckvarisco99624 ай бұрын

    Yeah that does kind of get boring unless you got these new which they're bad or bad is good and good brother. You could go straight yourself. Can't All right. I invested in one man. You should invest in them if you know. Like you said, if you really raise pretty much by yourself and they ain't got nobody to race with, I can't think of them. I can't think of the correct name of them, but they're by AFX you can Ghost race with them or we can race each other and you can sit the speed so the car the Ghost car won't fly off. I can't remember the name of it of it though, but it's your main. You know terminal track. I guess that's the right word. But yeah man there's a lot of great stuff out there now you know just got to look for it and hopefully as I say have the sunny pennies in your pocket. That's many men in my problem a lot never ever enough sunny pennies and noise a dollar or as they say in a day late or a day late and then sunny Penny short or some s*** however, you would like the word that. But yeah man that's hardy is great. You know great with you know get your kids and you know that family quality time man you can't put a price on that. And yeah guys know that 🏎️🛻🏁👍

    Yeah like you're like you said man there's a holes everywhere but yeah you can meet some good people man you know than it is a you know. Great little hobby sport thing to get into man cuz there is some good people out there that's into this. But like I said, like you're saying there's a holes everywhere man. I believe I'm surrounded by him at times ❗

  • @chuckvarisco9962
    @chuckvarisco99624 ай бұрын

    Yeah people think they're just toys man and they don't realize. You know there's once you get more in depth into it man. They don't realize how it really is. You know it's like you know. Okay you say I am just the the tycho AFX HO scale driver now? Like you, you're my builder. The other guy. He's part of the pit crew too. He make sure the lap times all I do is just drive the damn thing control it around the track and they don't realize. Well this stuff is valuable. I'm paying back then. I used to pay like five or six bucks back in the 70s man for a car and as you see certain ones are rare, her and very valuable. They went from like an end of '90s. I would say from maybe 15 to 20 bucks to now like 60 70 if not more for certain rare ones if you can find them. Even crazy man, but that just shows you how compared to real racing when it started to NASCAR today. I guess that's the best way to say that it's done. Got so competitive man and competitional that it drives the average you know like back then you know I was just a moonshiner the moon center let race come weekends cuz I couldn't read to keep my car running right? You know you guys know what I mean 🏁🛻🏎️👍

    I know some of you guys out there. Remember the tires on on the Tycho I don't know why this thing. I'll spell s*** out right at times. Sorry guys but you know the taco we are tires. The ones that had the little center line in the middle back then I you know already. Didn't know I was racing with buddies but found out them tires that had that little center line into the middle of them. Yeah they were good tires. They did work great compared to as we would call the slicks 🏁🛻🏎️👍

    People still do that help each other out. I thought that was just words anymore. Man you know I was trying to be sarcastically funny there but yeah man that's what's wrong with this world now and people don't want to help nobody out each other no more truly sad man. People don't want to take the time to say even hello or good morning. I'm too busy man. I'll go go make this dollar that ain't going to last. That's sad. This is truly f****** sad😢😢😢😢

    Slot car racing rc racing online Sim racing and so on are nothing more than SIMULATED racing activities. Unless you are sitting in the seat and your personal safety is at risk it is not real racing. I'm experienced in all activities I've listed and respect each form of the Motorsports Hobby. Just sharing perspective. There's a big difference between physically being in the vehicle going around the track and or commanding a vehicle to go around the track.

    That is true man. I don't understand that either about them. Older tires that they had on certain HO cars. You know they would drive out or whatever man. I have found someone that was so dry. Rotted I went to remove them and they just crumble like f****** pieces of. Sorry about the language guys rocks and stuff man that is crazy😮🏁🛻🏎️👍

    Yeah I probably in a real car. Like he said when you get them breaks you know I'm getting or flying into the stop even in the real car I had to brakes too hard. I'm jerking. I'm sliding or fish telling that's what they used to call it. I'm fish telling it the rear ends left right left right left. Trying to straighten it out. You guys know this stuff though. Like you said, try to keep the pin in the slot in the rubber on the downside man😂😂😂🤣🏎️🛻🏁👍

  • @chuckvarisco9962
    @chuckvarisco99624 ай бұрын

    Yes a lot cheaper than building you a race car for real and all. But like you're saying you guys are saying yeah it's just been scaled down man. You know you do have to have certain talents and like your buddy there saying you know he's been doing it for a long time. Morning and certain things along the way that you might learn about. You know as far as as these guys say smooth and tires. I'll make sure they know spots on my tires, my electric motor and armatures you guys notice stuff 🏎️🛻🏁👍

    Yeah that's very true man. Just you know I guess that's where it becomes. Oh, I'm too busy. I don't know this person anyways. But yeah you know how do anyone be meet anyone? How did you even meet your wife? Ooh damn man you look awful. Good today? Or did she approach you? Just got to be something type of communication there or somewhere you know. Like he's saying you know talk to people. Scared to talk to someone. It ain't hard is it? Some people make it hard though 🤣 his life is crazy man and that's all I can say about that 🏎️🛻🏁👍

    Would you just said babe I was about to correct you there. Yeah man you you don't care about no channel you care about keeping the hobby alive man and that's what you're doing and give people the knowledge behind it to where they shouldn't have any problem finding parts and places like that. You know on your on your channels and you know like you're saying man you know like some of these like myself I'll go to my toy guy. I can't. You know everyone knows him. Protinker Mr. Brian Young with a lot of y'all know out there but that's a good place. He pretty much would have what you need and but like you and some places you suggest you know for specially parts as they say. Yeah you guys are good and only if you're good. You're good. That's all there is to it 🏁🏎️🛻👍

  • @chuckvarisco9962
    @chuckvarisco99624 ай бұрын

    I just thought about it a little more in depth as they say. Yeah it's just been scaled down to certain sizes. You know those who do mess with slot cars and tracks and stuff. I'm pretty sure they tell you. Yeah you got to still have the skill enough to control the car. You know around the track and plus with these new digital bigger scale then HO you could program a lot of s*** stuff now lap times go pit times need more few times and it makes it more real you know. Makes it more like real. I got to come in. My car is about to run out of gas. Will I be able to make the next two loud so I don't. The car is out of gas man. You didn't make it past the finish line. You lost type stuff. You know what I mean. Young guys know what I mean 🏁🛻🏎️👍

  • @chuckvarisco9962
    @chuckvarisco99624 ай бұрын

    Yeah, it may not look like it until you actually have that controller in your hand and trying to control that car around that track. I think everyone should do that at least once. Good remote controller. Give them a quarter run and then let them judge ❗🏁🛻🏎️👍

    Man, it helps with your eye and hand coordination. I mean it can relax your mind. As far as you know. When you're working on them, you know I'll give it. Heidi constructive you know I like like I said decal in them man customizing them. You know that's you know. Make sure you're creativity. You know it helps build that man's build your creativity as far as like I said, customizing them and decal on them 🛻🏁👍
