Can France form coalition government after Macron's election gamble?

Ahead of the exit poll last night - every expectation had been that the far right National Rally would have the largest number of representatives in parliament with Marine Le Pen's prodigee, the 28-year-old Jordan Bardella at its helm.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
But Emmanuel Macron's enormous gamble to force the French public to confront this reality seems to have worked - well sort of. After winning the first round of the election eight days ago, the second round saw a unique coalition of convenience unite some very strange bedfellows in a single cause: to keep the nationalist right from power.
But the second part of the gamble - to find a stable government - has not worked. The far left, who hate Macron as much as the far right are now more prominent than ever and France is in for weeks, if not months of chaos and confusion. 'FRANCE INGOUVERNABLE' as one newspaper put it on its front page.

Center is part of Macron's coalition. During the last seven years they managed to make far right being more and more alive. Macron has promissed he would stop their influence in french political life during is presidency. At the contrary, as a result of Macron's policy, Rassemblement National was very near to get power this sunday. That is why the left wing don't want to work with people who brought far right almost at the top. RN is the opposite of the left and RN hates Macron's party as the left wing. If the left wing and center create a coalition, it's the best way to make far right progress and to betray the left voters.

Yeah, it worked like how leftists, socialists, liberals, and centre-right formed an alliance during the Fourth Republic called the "Third Force" to keep the Gaullist out of the government. Then they messed up so much in Algeria that de Gaulle was brought back to power by 1958. News media like to compare the RN to the Vichy regime when it's more like the original Gaullism. They didn't stop anything, they just delayed it and the RN will grow stronger. Don't believe, they just literally got the largest vote share. So you better hope that this so-called "left-center government" governs well or else, it will just take one crisis for the so-called "far-right" to be swept into power.

Truth is that millions of ordinary Europeans are sick of mass immigration. I’ll give you a recent personal example: I was on holiday in Provence recently. I visited the gorgeous old perfume town of Grasse. Every single resident I saw was an Arab. It felt like Tangiers or Algiers. It certainly didn’t feel like France. If I want to visit an Arab town I go to Africa or Asia (which I do regularly); Europe shouldn’t be creating whole towns of non-Europeans. No other continent does this stuff to this degree.

I was just pointing out how odd it feels that so many Western European towns/cities feel distinctly un-European. I have nothing against Arabs, here. I’m just against the ghettoisation of so much of Europe. Most mix. Islam doesn’t. Islam doesn’t want to mix. 👍
