Impressive job on the corn stalks. That will sure help with decomposition for next spring tillage. I’m liking what I see on the flail mower. The adjustable hydraulic restrictor looks like a good addition. Thanks for sharing, and blessings to you and Christy.

Tim, thanks for doing the grease gun give away. A friend I submitted was a winner and he's very happy. The first couple rows you cut didn't impress me very much and I was thinking my Frontier rotary cutter with my 1025R does better. Then when you raised the roller it was a game changer! That really works well and does a super job. Love how we learn along with you. Drone footage was pretty good, Christi!

Wow, what a job that does of mulching down that corn!! I've already started saving for one of them mowers, mainly for ditches and banks that we have been doing with a weed whacker for years. Unfortunately I would be that mower to death if I ran it that low in our rocky corn field, but it certainly did a superb job of mulching it down for you.

I grew up with a 6' Mott flail mower on a Ford 8N. It was a great mower. It would cut anything and could throw a golf ball 100 yards. This was before safety chains and guards became standard. The only down side was sharpening roughly 200 blade edges.

I have used a 68" flail mower behind my Kioti CK2610 for years. Will never go back to a rotary again. If you are running hammer flails, don't worry too much about hitting rocks. In the Ozarks we get a fresh crop of rocks every year. The ones I have hit didn't fair well.

Congratulations to the winners. Tim, I don't think anyone is going to be upset with your picks. We're just glad that you and your sponsor are will to give back and help where you can. As for the flail mower, it looks like it works great for you, but not much use for me. With my property, the finance department and I think a wood chipper would be a better return on investment. 4 more things: 1. How's the factory installed 3rd function working out on the 1025? 2. Any wisdom/advice on a wood chipper. 3. Have you talked with your sponsor about getting a MSL (on loan or otherwise) for the 1025 or 2038 to try out and demonstrate for us? The spec's I've see show an increase of a couple hundred pounds to full height (on 2038). I'd love to see you test that out. 4. I noticed the completed barn in the background - nice job!

Ugh, sweet corn stalks are so annoying! I usually end up chopping them down so I can throw them into a compost bin. I tried my wood chipper once, but got frustrated after I plugged it up. I think I know what I was doing wrong, but I've since broken the wood chipper due to my own impatience and need to get a welder and teach myself how to weld so I can fix it. The fun never ends. :-)

As a new and current flail mower owner I have noticed if the foliage is extremely tall like your corn stalks the mower tends to push it over and only trim the stalk as it rolls over it leaving a laid down stalk that’s skent as it is passed over. I now lengthen the top link as far as I can and let it float on the rear roller

I really appreciate your showing different equipment. On a Ventrac video a person comment that there was no good way to dig a hole for instance to plant a tree. I had a thought could a back hoe be attached to the Ventrac via the three point hitch and use the Ventrac hydraulics. You have all that equipment so it would be of interest to see if that was possible. I know this is off topic but the only way I know to contact you is here, by phone or by mail.

Tim, I just came back to this video to to get your pick on corn so I can try this year. Looks like to order the SB9010a you need an MSTA? Any suggestions for folks who don’t have one?

When you get a chance, it'd be nice to see more info on the flow control valves. Are they hard plumbed in-line into the hose connections down stream from the quick connects or do they plug into the quick connects and then the hoses plug into the control valves via their quick connects? The quick connect plug-in configuration would make them transferable among multiple implements.

have watched very many of your videos, and even used them to help people make decisions on attachments. Very great job of explaining as always. I may have missed it or maybe someone has already asked, but does this create a right hand side load to the 3 pt? I have seen some videos if it is angled down in a ditch, it appears the 3 pt looks like it is loaded super heavy to the right hand side. I would guess it would add a lot of load to that side, but my wonder is if it is to a point of damaging the 3 pt arms or trans case? thank you very much for this video!

Yes, creates a load on the right side. Should not damage 3 pt arms.

How tall did that corn end up being? I also grow the roundup ready/bt corn and mine got to about 8 1/2 feet. I grew remedy and aspire. I might try SV9010SA next year.

You will like the SV9010SA much better than the Aspire. We have grown it in the past.

You should have picked all the remaining corn and put out to the road with a free sign. Your neighbors would love you!

Tim....Do you have the hammer heads on the mower. I have the knives on my 6 ft. flail mower and it chops up the standing corn fine from my food plots.
