Can Drew Get His Hands On The Victorian Baker's Cabinet? | Salvage Hunters | Trade Off

Фильм және анимация

The outbuildings of a palatial home are unkempt and full of stock. Drew falls for a Victorian baker's cabinet that's priced out of reach. A junk shop owner is having a closing down sale and the chaps head straight for the sheds. Drew haggles with the head teacher at a grand home turned prep school.
Drew Pritchard, the owner of one of the UK's largest decorative salvage yards, is always on the lookout for new items to replenish his stock, and he has no qualms about scouring the countryside for them. This series follows Drew as he searches for old and lost pieces of history throughout the world, including some opulent estates. But locating them is only half the battle; Drew must persuade the owner of each object to sell it to him for a good price, and then it's off to the scrap yard, where his team restores it to its former glory before selling it for profit.

I miss Gavin. Would someone hire him to star in a show that teaches about restoring anything and everything? He truly made everything Drew sold look amazing, and he genuinely seemed delighted by the results. In addition, he's easy on the eye and has a great, dry wit. Where in the world is Gavin? I'm sure others must miss him as well...

Car boot sale prices. Drew is given a great price and he still has to get it for less. And that is while taking into consideration his expenses, employees, cost of his large building, electricity, phone, internet, etc. Drew is what Americans call a picker/reseller/antique dealer. A salvage is when a building is being demolished.

Drew Didn't "SHOW ANY INTEREST IN IT," He Gave It High Praise, Pointing Out the History & Special Details ! It Sounded Like He Was Trying To Sell It To The Man. The History Lesson & Descriptions Should Be Filmed Privately Later & He Needs Not Build Up It's Value With So Many Details. It May Be Good For The Program's Viewers, But It Will Interfere With Him Getting Any Bargains.

You obviously have never owned or managed a business. Why don't you take the time to calculate just the vehicle cost, gas, and payroll for just the two of them driving one day? Do you think the profit from all of these items when sold even cover the weekly payroll? If anything, he pays too much for many things.

  • @ISMDOBLE

@@greg6235 Agreed, there are many times someone makes an offer which is too low and he will say that isn't a fair price and pay more than they want.

Don't forget that every antique shop he visits gets great advertising and will have a stream of future customers coming through their door. Even if they sell a couple things cheap its just an investment in advertising their business.
