    Good Information. Also, capacitors are voltage storage devices. People should be careful not to touch the terminal ends, plug ends, after a capacitor has been plugged in. It will give an electrical shock. Remember how the Camera Flash works, it charges the capacitor of the camera, and when you press the button to take the photo, the capacitor releases the stored energy and releases the current to activate the flash light of the camera, which needs big surge of electricity for the flash. The old cameras, with film, worked like that. A/C power motors use capacitors as inductors to initiate the fan rotation. Capacitors can be dangerous. Current Laag sakta hai, bohot zaalim kisam kaa.

    It is true that no change occurred in the power consumption , but by adding capacitors at the mains , you have reduced the current & improved the P.F , which will give advantage to Wapda . The feeding transformer could supply more consumers without overloading .

    Salam brother power Factor correction kisi bhi device ki efficiency behtar bnata hai yani device ko hum jitni power input de rhey hain wo zyada se zyada smoothly convert ho jaye us device ki output performance mai...or device k andar internal energy losses kam se kam ho jayen. For example, agar ek motor no-load condition mai 100W power consume kr k 3000 rpm pr chal rhi hai to Power Factor correction kr k chances hain k usi 100W ki consumption k badley uski no-load rotation ko mazeed smooth kr k or losses ko khatam kr k motor k rpm barhaye ja skte hain

    The Power supplied by Wapda to consumers is with two components 1) Active component & 2) Reactive component. Ideally, the Reactive component should be zero in order to have improvement in energy consumption. However, there is electrical losses due to resistance of conductors/wires and inductance of any winding based equipment present in the system. In distribution system, the voltage & current is supplied thru transformers to loads of individual house holds. Therefore, transformers are always rated by KVA not KW. Wapda supply consist of KWH + KVARH for house holds consumption. Wapda supply of Voltage & Current are apart by an angle called Cos(@) or power factor. Wapda charges consumers if p.f of their load drops below 0.8. Therefore, capacitors are installed to improve p.f close to 1. If p.f. is improved to 1 by installing suitable Capacitor in parallel to the load, the KVARH will become zero and hence pure KWHr consumption will reduce the cost of bill. Here in this video, the KZreadr inserted capacitors in a socket, that socket may be connected to resistive load where there is no windings involved, hence no Reactance, the p.f. is already 1. The capacitor should be installed at the incoming Wapda supply line connecting to the home total load and not in any socket inside the home. In addition, house hold load mainly consist of Resistive load (heating) & inductive load (Fans). All Fans comes with capacitors installed by the Fan manufacturers. So the inductive Reactance of the Fans are compensated by the use of Capacitors. Hence effectively, load of the house is with unity pf and therefore you don’t see any difference in power consumption in the meter.

    You can't, bcz adding capacitor means you are improving power factor(p.f). But if you add more capacitor, exceeding certain limit, p.f will decrease from 1 to zero depending on value of capacitance and current will lead voltage, hence you p.f will decrease in leading mode and increasing apparent power. But for home use, all companies' meters measure only real power not apparent power, hence adding or removing capacitor will not affect your home's bill. These capacitors are only installed in industry, where meters measure apparent power bcz of huge inductions of motors installed in industry, which makes current to lag voltage, hence increasing apparent power, so capacitors are installed there to decrease apparent power!

    2.81 A * 230V = 646 Watt and 3.27 A * 230 V = 752.1 Watt, the energy meter was already calculating on basis of the reduced current. As per my knowledge power factor is not taken into consideration for residential consumers so they are not penalized for having low power factor but for the case of industrial consumers both active and reactive power are considered.

    The power in watts should not change but the power in VA should definitely reduce. So there should be a reduction in your bill with power factor correction because power wastage is reduced. Note that Volt Ampere (VA) is the unit of total power out of which Watts only represent the real component. There is also an imaginary component that is due to inductors or capacitors in the load.

    You need to check the voltage too, when current drops, voltage across should go up. Capacitor are used mostly in the industry where there is higher value of phase lag between current and the voltages. In other words inductive load is much higher than the resistive load. Both current the voltages should be in phase in order to improve the power factor.
