Video suggestion: Danner Acadia 8'' vs. Rocky Portland 8'' (optically the same boot!).

I feel like it would be interesting to see some totally new products such as some of the premium European hiking boot companies like Lowa, Scarpa, Zamberlan, etc. Zamberlan makes a backpacking boot with traditional Norwegian Welt construction that has to be way nicer than any of the Danner products you have looked at.

For a similar price and look the jim green baobabs are significantly better and for a little bit more the nuumzans absolutely blow them away.

Been wearing birkenstock QS600 (Steel toes) for the last few years for work and they have held up ya better then I thought they would. Ugly as sin but if you're feet are super wide they work great

You should do a review on some adtec boots, they used to supply feild and forrest at fleet farm and the pair i got have lasted significantly longer than expected for the price

Its crazy looking at the boot for value in big names like this vs companies like Jim Green where you get so much more for the same cost.

Dr Martens made a "new" type of leather for their boots. They call it Genix Nappa and it's a "reclaimed" leather. Could you please make a review on it so people would know what is it and is it worth is?

No, these are junk. For the same price you can get yourself a pair of Jim Green African Rangers.

I love the “Good” boot they make, the Birmingham. But if they made it just a little better, I’d buy it for sure. The Birmingham is super comfortable with the Horween Chrome XL leather.

I really wanna see birkenstock make a boot that's filled with a lot of cork. I'm holding out on that. I love my Arizonas and now I wear almost nothing except birkenstock bend sneakers, but I'd really love to see them make a boot that's got more cork throughout.

I would love if you cut one day a pleaser flamingo (i plan to get a pair of them) or a brandit Phantom 3 buckle boot (i got them already) i really love your work

Your critique of boots leads me towards Jim Greens. Though JK 300 line might be the go to for durability.

The JK boots will probably last longer, but for a light duty boot, the Jim Greene boots are pretty good. I live on a ranch in South Texas. I have been wearing the Jim Green African Ranger boots. I wear them strictly for comfort reasons. I am old and my feet are shot. For the price, they are a good deal. When my current pair wears out, I will just get a new pair.

i wear a pair of bryston boots often, they are comfy, yes the toe box has most to do with that. im UK they were £95 here a year and a half ago

My friend bought it in December 2023 had it for 2 months. After that that outsole started to fell apart from the midsole. He had to return them to get back his money. So they are much worse that you say

The leather on my Birkenstock Tokio's is easy to clean but it doesn't breathe at all. I guess it kind of makes sense for a shoe focused on the service industry.

For those of us who feel a tinge of guilt when buying Redwings these videos sure are reassuring and soothing! £200 is a lot of money but pay £55 extra per boot to have a beautifully made long lasting alternative that can be resoled AND looks better the more you wear i! Also, have you cut open the Timberland Larchmont Chukka? Im intrigued to see whats hiding in those things!

I'm sorry Weston, everything except the sandals are BS. The insole isnt as good as the sandal footbed. Sometimes they use a good upper outer leather but everything else is misleading or garbage.

Cheaply built, luxury priced and riding on an established name and reputation is what happens when Private Equity gets involved. Shame, but capitalism yeah?

You know they sell repair kits for those fake leather chairs and couches to prevent further cracking and delamination, they're pretty cheap and rather effective for a while.

Honestly don't care much for the boots (I know they're gonna be meh anyways), but if Birkenstock start selling the insoles they put in these I would love to grab some (yes I'm aware they already are selling their own half insoles but they look different from these boots). They can make big bucks if they do it right imo, with different thickness or support types/level, they've got the name and a it's a growing market, more and more people are aware of effects of insoles and search for good ones

If a footwear company is willing to offer a single product with anything faux or imitation in it anywhere, just run like hell from the entire brand and never look back for a second.

Love these reviews "exposing" the questionable practices of these brands. On a different note, I think being surrounded by some of the most expensive footwear on the market, you may have a biased judgement about price/quality ratio. By most standards $200 usd is a lot of money for a pair of boots. Period. Yes, some boots might cost that just on raw materials, but for the vast mayority, it's not. What I mean is that "allowing" or "justifying" poor quality materials or deceitfully labeled al something else in this price range should be unacceptable.

He seemed to have learned not to burn audience trust on sponsored products bc it was bad about 6-9 months ago but has gotten better.

I bought the boots. They didn't last longer than a few months. The outside cork is too easy to fall apart. I returned them. However, it was comfortable to wear. I hope they will improve the durability.

When I was working construction, that was never an option, just wasn't making enough to justify them. Granted, I also took care of my boots(since I need them to make money), so I could get a couple years out of ~$200 boots before they really needed replaced. I also wouldn't want to be trudging around in heavy ass PNW-style boots all day when I'm not doing anything that requires boots that overbuilt. They would wear my scrawny ass out lol.

With as much money as you've spent on boots, you'd think that you'd spring for a decent chair. Get a Steelcase before your back decides to rebel against your bad furniture choices.
