Indeed, its easier to just stick with your own language, specially if we talk about english since its the easiest to learn and the one everyone uses, but I find really interesting to see people from NA or UK that at least try to learn spanish, after all NA people have Mexico right besides them so it wouldnt be bad to learn a bit.. here in SA most people can speak english and portuguese at a decent level, kinda makes me mad that most NA people are so ignorant about other languages, but I guess its more of a personal opinion since Im interested in learning different stuff from other countries (of course my english isn't perfect at all, but at least I can hold a decent conversation and express my viewpoints)

Right, and plug definitely gets used, but in some places “plug” is also used to describe the wall outlet, so we have to use other words for the male end, like jack or connector. It’s one of those weird situations where no single world ever became prominent in the entire country, so we often just work the sentence around having to say it.

I think most argentinians, at least in the big cities, know some basic english due to the exposure to the language in social media and pop culture. Also, as english is taught during most of the primary school and secondary school, we usually have at least some kimd of base to start learning about it. Also, people may not be able to talk a lot in english due to lack of experiency as it's not super needed in here but most people is at least able to understand something. In my case, my mother, 59 years old, has never really studied any english but just from exposure and music she could communicate with a foreigner at her work once. It surprised me, but for real most people have at least some level of understanding about it here.

The hardest part of learning english its the pronunciation, BY FAR! We start learning english from elementary school but today the real lerning ends up being online (like im doing right now writting this in english). We consume youtube, social media, videogames, movies, music, etc. So I have no problems reading or writting in english (of course I have mistakes all the time, but still can make sense) Talking is the hardest part for me simply because I never need to talk in english at all lol. I could type in english on a real time conversation but would have to think a lot if the same sentence was coming from my mouth XD
