Thank your, Whenever we're in despair, it's very difficult to come back to ourselves... but if we analyze the process, we realize that despair is there just when our attention is focused on it. But this movement is so rapid that it feels permanent.... so staying as we are in these turbulent moments doesn't make it any easier to investigate ourselves. One of the solutions/helps I practice is repeating the name Arunachala, because in these turbulent moments it allows me (perhaps temporarily) to let go of this despair. Another question is that I often feel despair not in relation to myself, but in relation to someone else, i.e. a family member or someone else in a situation that's not very comfortable. The problem is either him or me... if I completely ignore his problem, I feel I'm becoming egoistic and my despair, so to speak, is focused on him instead of on myself, and of course my practice becomes heavier and heavier... Thank you

I think that when you are in despair you are much closer to the introverted state of mind that might be more suitable for self examination. It's when you are ' happy ' and everything in the world looks great that you are drawn into Maya . 🙏🕉️

Probably true. If you have tried to be happy through achieving and have seen it doesn’t make you happy. However, as long as there’s a semblance of “I could still be happy if only I had…”, then it may not work.

Well, one can also explain it that way: If one is in despair then ego desperately looks for a way out and for a "spiritual" person practicing self-investigation is that way out. Others have a drink or something else. That doesn't mean one is closer to an introverted state of mind because one is in despair.
