Can A Lawn Mower Suck Up Fertilizer From The Lawn?
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Ok so today I'm having fun making a lawn care nut video that is about 80% nonsense and 20% tips. The question: hey my guy just mowed after granular fertilizer was applied, should I re-app?
I also give an update on where we are, Happy Memorial Day !

Alan! I started watching your videos about 2 years ago and now I'm on your milorginite program and I can honestly say I got the best yard on the my street! I also do the most work on my lawn but it's because of watching your videos and how to Dominate! your an inspiration to all us lawn care nuts! take care man
One of my favorite videos of all time. Could see how much you were enjoying yourself with your lawn experiments and your Memorial Day app. I know you've mentioned that you were in the service in previous videos (and I think you mentioned your son is in the military as well) so thank you both for your service!
Happy Memorial Day Allen!! I've been getting a lot of compliments from my neighbors this year!! Thank you and love your channel.
I started watching your channel since a friend and I decided to start a lawn care service. Never thought I'd watch a channel like yours for the humor. You're very funny. Great videos!
Great video! I've always wondered about this question. Happy Memorial Day everyone and Thank You Al for your service!!
I was kinda freaking out and going through LCN withdrawal figuring it's a holiday and Al ain't gonna put out a video this weekend. Whew, that was close! Thanks for making it possible to sleep peacefully with lawnmower sounds in my head. Have a great Memorial Day +The Lawn Care Nut
thanks for what you do sir ...helping homeowners go nuts with there lawn ....making it look good. I'm learning a lot from you specifically now that you are in florida,im from South Florida myself ,I got st.agus in my lawn ,I'm follow all your tips.thanks again
Al, I’m a beginner LCN myself and your videos have really been helpful , so Thanks...,
I currently work for TruGreen. Northern Region, Indiana. Love your St. Augustine though lol see more tall fescue like that though up here. Glad the practice runs deep still after employment. I plan to start up my own business after soaking up what I can. Your videos definitely help. Thank you!
From one dominator to another...love your videos LCN! Keep em coming
Another great video! Your starting to DOMINATE the neighborhood!!
Happy Memorial Day! Thanks for your service. I've been a sub for a few years and I have learned a lot from watching your vids. My lawn is so much nicer than it used to be. I wish now I would've taken before - and - after pics. I live in the country and don't have neighbors as close as you but I'm on my way to domination anyway! Keep up the great work.

thanks bro!! good to hear from you, Happy Memorial Day!
Hey Allyn, I wanted to say first thank you for your service. It is because of people like you that have served in the many capacities of the military that we civilians get to enjoy our freedoms, and celebrate each Memorial day. I also wanted to congratulate you on all of your success here, and to see your channel grow like a Milo treated lawn recently! You have inspired me to take control of my yard, and begin the domination process. It has been truly satisfying! Thank you for putting out THE best yard care content out there. I foresee your channel exploding. You are the type of dude that I would love to kick a beer back with. And that is why I like this channel so much among other things. Keep up the awesome work, I look forward to your videos each week. Cheers!
thank you Allen for all your hard work my lawn and so many others are great full.
Another great video. Excited for my app tomorrow!
Great, long video Alan. Happy Memorial Day and lets all remember that freedom isn't free!
Cool video, LCN. I really like how you brought an experiment into a video. Good idea and definitely interesting. Keep rockin' it!
You really love ghostbusters dude , that's the second reference quote I've noticed
Don't know if you get this on your comments but your videos are so relaxing to watch after a hard day at work.
Good Idea there, Lawn Boss. I think I will do the same. Happy Memorial Day weekend
Thanks for the tips from all your videos!
I think I remember you saying your sons are in the military and you served as well. I'm thankful for yours and their service Allyn, it means a lot to me.

@phillip miller that was a dumb thing to say.
I love your videos. They are both entertaining and informative and really help me out. So thank you very much for all you do and all that you care. One suggestion, and I know this is a very old video, could you leave to your chirons up longer. Chiron's might not be the right word for it but I mean the words that you're print out on screen. I am a slower reader than apparently you are. I do like reading and studying every bit of your videos. I leave in enough longer, maybe four times as long, it will give me a chance to get more out of what you have written and said. Again thank you very much for the education and entertainment.
This is the first video I have seen ( I actually never searched on KZread for one like this)doing a simple simple test video to see if mowing right after a fertilizer application, Milorganite or synthetic does get sucked it up with the grass clippings when mowing. Mowing probably also moved almost every granular ( synthetic fertilizer)that was sitting on the grass blades that could burn some if the synthetic fertilizer was not watered in right away and and humidity was high for several days. Nice video...
Why would anyone do drugs when they could just mow a lawn?

I have been enjoying your videos for a while but when I saw you dump out the clippings it was officially the first time I ever thought you actually were a "nut". Great videos keep them coming.
I once laid fert and mowed several days later because of dry conditions. I ended up with blisters all over my exposed skin. Im sure it was chemical burns from the sythetic fert I had put down earlier in the week. I just wouldnt do that again. But I understand you reason to show this. Thanks for the Vid.
Dreamweaver, dancing, and a Ghostbusters reference.. best LCN video ever!
Happy holidays to you too
happy Memorial Day to you too I'm heading to get milo to just dominating my neighborhood in Casper Wyoming
Allyn.. great advice as always. Even my wife is starting to like you lol she hears me watch your videos all the time!
Down in Anna Maria for the week from West Virginia. I noticed your Anna Maria hat. I love your channel! I thought about taking the family to site see...at your house...to show them what true domination is. They think I am truly a "lawn care nut"!
could you possibly do a video on bagging, mulching, or let it fly grass clipping? which one benefits more, which would cause more harm to your lawn, and so on.
I like the March AFB Open House poster in the background at 4:15. Not too far from my house in Anaheim:) Happy Memorial Day weekend!! Thank you again for your service, and your sons's service to our country!! From a former coastie, Semper Paratus!!!

ha ha good eye bro! That was the year I was editor of the base newspaper there. Hoorah!
thanks for the videos I'm one who don't mind the long videos I been watching your channel since you started and it's seems like we know you and basically would watch any videos you posted
So Allyn, when you have this Landscaping done might you possibly do a full video or at the very least an extended segment on that as well? Landscaping is a huge part of a beautiful lawn in my opinion.. it just ties everything in together. ( plus I'm a huge fan of clean looking landscaping). It would be cool to see the work being done!.
another great video Alan!
Funny u tested to see if it was picked up. I normally apply it then go mulch. Somehow deep down inside i want the lawn mower to pick up the granuales, swirl them around and magically drop them between the grass blades that need them the most. In the end, more evenly spread. Not to say that my spreader is doing a bad job but those areas where there some a little overlap... Anywho, great video! :)
Always looking forward for ur videos. I am the dominator in my neighborhood.
Nice tip with the Kayak!! I might do that
Aww man I trusted ya. I just emptied the bags on my JD D105 and the clippings are full of fertilizer. It’s compost now. I guess the high lift blades for bagging did their job.
who knew with the subject of this video would be so fun and entertaining.. love this subscription
Way to dominate KZread videos! Thumbs up to you sir 👍
I took the wimpy blades off my riding mower and replaced them with GATOR blades, the best money ever spent. Just replaced the belt with a heavy duty type, OMG it grinds up the grass LOL! My neighbors cringe at the sound of my compressor, air wrench or watching me suck the oil out of my lawnmower with a MightyVac.
I'm so thankful for your videos! It's like someone gets me. Finally. My wife thinks I am a weirdo for watching some "Dude" mow his lawn. Buying my kayak this week. Gotta get that personality domination too!

Ian Barker My daughter is still trying to figure out why I like to watch videos of people mowing lawns 😂😂😂
Allyn, I just went and bought a 25kg bag of organic fert , and when I was about to fill the hopper , the bottom of the bag split and nearly the whole bag spilt onto the lawn ! I was force to scoop it up and then fetch the Dyson to vacuum up the last bits . I saw the neighbours looking out the window at one point . So in my attempt to dominate , the neighbour now think I'm just a nut !!!
Nothing like dinner and a movie LCN movie Beautiful weekend in the north to thrower down
thank you so much for answering my question (:
I love your videos! My wife too thinks I'm nuts for watching Lawn Care Videos.... HAHA. Keep up the great work. Also just joined your Patreon page... Cant wait for some LCN stickers! I live in the country (with pasture grass) but going to try to dominate as much as I can with my Bahia & St. Augustine mix. Thanks Allyn
one of the best experiments I've seen performed - and some of the greatest data for a pro thats out there! easily the number 1 most asked question asked day in and day out. thank you, sir!

yep, and addictive!
I would like to see your following video about fixing irrigation and adjusting coverage.
My chiropractor would love your doing the "Egyptian". A great neck exercise. I do it all the time.
Long time fan, love your videos. Would you expect the same results when instead considering overseeding, rather than fertilizing? Especially when first considering if the overseeding was preceded by aeration? I'm in the process of planning to overseed a largely TTTF lawn in Northern VA with bluegrass this coming fall. Considering the average germination period for bluegrass - and also considering the time to which it would take the newly emerged grass to reach mowing height - I can't imagine not mowing my lawn for 5 - 6 weeks especially when considering it would have recently been fertilized. Hoping to hear from you, Allyn! Thanks for your consideration!
"True that" on everything you said. Cheers
my wife says I should be able to mow our lawn in about 30 min but I make it take hours . :) I have a process that must be followed every time . have a great weekend
At 13:39 I like bagging in the spring and fall with over seeding. So the seed can get down there a little easier.
Allyn thanks again love to see your great ideas, it will be nice to see your new work bench with dad . Brown spot is in my lawn used honor guard any ideas will the lawn come back??
Hey Allyn, love your videos for both they tips and useful content as well as the comedic value! Is there a recommended care for the lawn bag itself? Mine is really quite old, from previous home owner but it's a really good Toro with Suzuki engine; however, the bag is quite dirty and I'm wondering if it restricts the "blower" ability of mower to blow grass into the bag? Should I just hose it down inside and out? or take the leaf blower to it? use carwash soap? Thanks and keep up the great videos!

Funniest LCN vid yet!!!
Hey LCN... love your channel! Those Columbia shirts you wear seem to be perfect for working outside in the sun. You should do a review on them. What is the name of the type of shirt you're wearing in this video and where do you get yours?
awesome video love the Ghostbusters reference one of my favorite movies
The smaller pieces probably hit by the blades. I always wondered about this, good experiment. I always have customers water right away just to be sure.
Thank you for the response! The wife and I are huge fans! We live in Houston, Texas and the weather here is very hot. We have St. Augustine grass previously we have used synthetic Scotts weed and feed. Will this organic feed help out grass in the winter stay green?

Hey Sir LCN....question for ya. I am in northern NY ansd my grass is growing like crazzzzzy now with the use of MILO!! TY so much for turning me into a LCN as well. Have a problem though...mowed 3 days ago and left her pretty high as I was hosting a mem day party thing...everyone LOVED the lawn. The problem now is she needs another mowjob NOW but we are 2 days into 6 days of rain....uhhhg!! idk if my mower is capable of multching that much growth next week...what is a guy to do??? I don't wanna bag but......

Good morning LCN, Love your informative and entertaining videos. Question in one of your videos you recommend Drive to ry rid of crabgrass and in another one Blindside. I live in so cal, kinda sandy soil what wich one should I use?
Allyn,So, I'm going make a guess and say that light seeds will be picked up easily. Sometimes you just need to overseed when the lawn is actively growing. So, mulch if you have to mow.
Bahahaha love taps. Idk why but that was just too funny.
Hey, brother! What type or grit of sanding discs to I use with my die grinder to sharpen my lawn mower blades? I haven't done it before, but I am very mechanical and like to do things myself. I will probably purchase a spare blade so I can always have one sharpened and ready to go, and will probably find a local shop to sharpen it for me, just so I can give them some business. However, I do want to be able to take care of it myself when I need to. Please get back to me sir. You are awesome.
I put my Milo last weekend today a nice cut and tighten up my edges turned out to be a memorial day domination weekend ringer would have got sucked up more probably because it's so light and just sits on top of the grass
Okay Dude..... love the experiment, totally radical, pretty kool.. Now, how would a non pro like the home owner do with just a simple side slinger. Would more fert be displaced by that mowing action?
You're crazy bud, I like that!
Can you please do a full review of your sprinker system
7:59 "Don't cross the streams!" Ghostbusters!
Some commercial units use high lift blades, so a bit more pickup there perhaps.
Another good vid but I was wondering what was the other bag you out down. I see Milo but what was that other bag?
Hello Allan first let me express my appreciation for a great source of information. My question is I have a small lawn approximately 35x35Ft. If I just use my battery powered grass trimmer, do I risk damaging the lawn.? My lawn is nice and green up here in NY now. I read somewhere on the back of a Scotts weed and feed that grass clippings are to be left on the lawn. I will buy a lawn mower if it makes a big difference or else I don't mind using the trimmer. Thanks for your help.
Dude, you have a drone, right? Is it one you can set to hover in place, and set it overhead above the lawn so you can record AND enjoy your mow? Could be a cool timelapse to show mowing the entire lawn...
I'm right in the middle of revamping my yard from a mess of weeds with small patches of centipede, to zenith zoysia. I removed all grass and tilled my soil to a depth of 3 inches. The zenith seed is down, however I have a spot that's roughly 15" x 20" where clover has come from nowhere, and it's a problem that I did not have before. The zenith seed has just started to germinate. Is there anything that I can put down to kill the clover at this time, or do I need to wait for the zoysia to become more established? Thanks a lot for the videos, and hopefully I will be dominating my neighborhood in about 2-3 months.
Ally, When you edge the yard and dance, How deep should you cut the pocket between the grass and concrete? I think I may be cutting to deep on my yard, but not entirely sure. Thanks
good one!!
Man this guy would be an entertaining neighbor. Walking around playing in his grass and talking to a camera.
Hey LCN can you show some results of your palm tree you miloed. I would like to see what it does thanks.
Great information! thanks for sharing #allnatural #fertilizer
Allyn- after every rain- in a day or two I notice mushrooms popping up on the lawn. Any thoughts on this issue?
nice boots! Lawn Care Nutt are there any special boots or shoes you recommend for mowing the lawn?
Hey you should map out your sprinklers like you did the measurements for your yard. Bi Dionne for each zone and it really helps you understand the number of heads per zone as well as type and coverage
