you guys should test there impact wrench/Drivers, here in europe we both got them in green and black as performance. i think the are 20v

European here. The old man has bought many of these parkside drills 12v. We use 2 at work, we had 2 during the year we built my house, then now I have one at home and he has one in his trailer and one in his boat. After more than a year of abuse from the house making one of them gave up but the other one is still going however the soft trigger doesnt work anymore on the one thats still going so it goes to full go when you press it wich is annoying. The other 4 that we have are going well still. They have however not been abused on a construction site, more small stuff every other day around the company. Ive had experience with other parkside stuff too but the only thing that Ive liked about them really is their drills. Their 20v drills are good too but some can be a bit clunky. Angle grinder just stalled on me when I was cutting rebar, jigsaw didnt work at all out of the box etc. I come from a background in construction where I used milwaukee, dewalt, bosch, hilti and makita before so I know what a good tool is suppoused to feel.

I've owned the Milwaukee you have there and ultimately sold it to buy the brushed model, which I wish I had just purchased in the first place. It wasn't awful but it was lacking on power compared to what I wanted. Can't say for parkside, but if all you need to do is drive a screw every now and then, either are probably good.

Loved the intro, Jim! Nothing wrong with either of them, but I would suspect the Milwaukee would have a longer usable lifespan. I still have my brushed M18 drill that I use at home, but I keep the brushless M18 at work since it gets used way more. Both would be fine for homeowner light duty use. However, anyone wanting to do more work, more often, I can see them outgrowing both of these. Thanks again, Jim!

I've tried to convince my friend who bought a corded drill to return it and get a cordless drill or impact. Because with a corded, you have to find a plug, use an extention if you can't reach the spot you're drilling, and it will strip the screw when it slows down. He didn't care and his gf supported his idea of having his first drill (because people are dumb and HAVE to support their SO even if their choices are bad). I told him that having any tool is better than none, but the price paid, (probably $25 or $30), he could get a cordless that he'll actually want to use instead of dragging out a long cord just to do a simple task. Like vacuuming. Having to unwind and guide the Lline while cleaning really quickly isn't as nice as just picking up a cordless vac and spot cleaning around baseboards or a spilled area that takes less than a minute and you hang it back up on the wall. Even a battery operated (4x AA or 4v li-ion) hand screwdriver is good to have if you're putting together a shelf or furniture. Hand fatigue sets in quickly and stays for a few days for people who DONT work with constant turning or unwinding. I would wonder how long that battery holds a charge over the years, but again, I think a person that uses a cheap cordless or battery screwdriver will only use it a few times a year and battery usage will be scarce.

Their Performance angle grinder showed up in my store and I got one. But unfortunately, none of the other black tools have made an appearance yet!

@@PhillyFixed Yes, all the Performance range are brushless. Back to the Parkside 12v; their is enough clearance inside the chuck to keep a screwdriver bit in the hex holder whilst drilling. In the UK Parkside are gaining serious traction since the vast improvements made. Those ebay prices you linked are typically very high. Here in the UK, the scalpers clear out the stores and stick them on ebay etc for ridiculous money. For example, in Lidl, that 12v. drill comes in a case with room for battery and charger (which can both be bought separately) for £19:99. ($22) Good test, thanks.

Not sure about that - I bought a parkside angle grinder when I was on a job 3 years ago as my Bosch died mid job - I bought a sandwich at the same time 👍. Only bought it to finish the job that day before I bought another Bosch . 3 years and around 2000 hours later it’s still blasting through the stuff I point it at 👍

They are definitely beneath me because they are brushed. :) My current drills are a Milwaukee M18 Fuel, and am expecting the M12 Fuel today. The M12 Fuel will work happily along with my M12 Fuel impact driver. Yes, I have a problem. :)

i would definately buy the parkside, mainly because i'm cheap. seems like the parkside was just a little behind the milwaukee but price is a big factor in my purchases. i have brushless kobalts for work, brushless and brushed metabo/hitachi at home, brushless deko drills for home and even the 12v brushed warrior drill for home. i know "mancaver tools" is ALWAYS bashing brushed tools, but i reach for the little warrior 9/10 times beacuse even tough it was cheap ($9 black friday sale) it just WORKS.

Have that Milwaukee drill driver is not that powerful but it gets the job done on house hold stuff.. I like it…

The Parkside did just fine, not really sure of its price, seems like it's very cheap if you get it locally. Given just those two options I'd still recommend the brushed milwaukee to friends and family however simply because of their depth of tools. For someone looking for a DIY set of tools I'd probably steer them into Ryobi however since they have some pretty cheap 18v brushed stuff that would still be more powerful than both of those. You always start out thinking "ahh i just need a drill" but it's never the end if you own a home and actually work on it yourself. You could do any DIY project with the appropriate Ryobi 18v tool and they have everything. I love my Milwaukee m12 and m18 but they are pricey

Would love to see the Hyper Tough 12v Impact driver and drill driver from Walmart tested against the M12.

If you want a tool that gets you through a job more quickly and has a lot of power, get the Milwaukee fuel. Even the M12 fuel drill driver and impact driver blows all 18 volt brushed drills and impact drivers out of the water and it even beats some 18 volt brushless ones. I personally prefer a brushless tool because of the extra power, speed, and versatility. My M12 gen 3 fuel hammer drill delivers maximum torque regardless of how hard or lightly I pull the trigger which greatly improves precision when you’re driving screws that are too weak for the impact driver or for starting a medium to large drill bit.

Lidl is more Eastern Germany and Poland Aldi brand. Actually pretty decent.

I’ve always like I could beat hole into the wood faster than that m12 could 😅

In this test, Milwaukee didn't do a lot better then Parkside, which is embarrassing, but I bet the price is 4 times higher. So I thing in this case Parkside is a winner.

I use brushed m12 everyday no problems

The money went everywhere but the motor.

Agreed, but I've only ever seen the angle grinder show up at my store, and I keep a pretty close eye out!

That doesn't seem like a bad lidl drill. If it was something I only needed to use a couple times a year for DIY type stuff it would probably suffice.

Price ? Here in Europe the park side can be had for 29.99 euros which is is 29. 71 dollars at the moment . What do you pay for the Milwaukee?

Yeah sorry I accidentally omitted that clip from the vid. $19.99 for the bare Parkside drill, $17.99 for a 2ah and charger. I couldn't find what I paid for the 4ah batt but I wanna say $12.99. Milwaukee came with 2x 2.0 batts and and an impact driver for $99.

No but they are very similar! They supposedly sell "Ferrex" brand power tools, but I've never seen them at my local Aldi.

They are generally considered inferior to brushless motors due to the metal brushes that have to physically contact the rotor and can wear out over time. Brushless motors tend to be more efficient and powerful in cordless power tool applications.

I find that brushes can survive some pretty filthy environments. I have a set of 10 year old brushed lawn tools whose only maintenance is to shake the motor around in some distilled water and lubricate the moving parts. They continue to operate even while covered in dirt, sawdust, dead grass that made its way into the housing, poop, sand, carbon graphite buildup, etc etc. Being so simple in design does have some advantages, but mainly brushed motors consume _twice_ the battery. Power-inefficient

Drill/driver is the term typically used by manufacturers for non-hammer drills.

third version is only driver, you can buy 'drill' which doesnt have chuck, but only 1/4 hex holder for bit

I own many Parkside tools and at the slightest touch of abuse they will give up on you.
