Can a 265 lb Man Transform Into Motocross Champion?

Спорт

Is it possible for a 265 pound dirt bike rider to transform into a National motocross champion? We join former pro MX racer Glen Phillips as he embarks on an inspiring journey to loose 50lbs in order to fight and compete for an official ACU British motocross championship.
Glen joined forces with Tom from MotoFit in order to reach his goals and inspire the young riders that he his working with. In this video we'll watch Glen transform before our eyes as he gets ready for the ACU Vets British Motocross Championships at Toddington. We hope you enjoy watching! :-)
Thanks to Glen for being a savage and to Luton and District for having us at the races.

Awesome. story I m a 45yr old dad from Florida. last November I weighed 318lbs. im down to 270lbs and hope to get down to 220lbs by winter because I have always wanted to compete in MX but also be competitive, even if it is for old guys. But for me it is 2 stroke only. Have a YZ125 now but will be looking for a nice 250 on the used market.

Back in the mid-eighties, I would routinely watch a 250lbs + Jojo Keller absolutely whip the competition at Southwick on a 125. In case you were thinking that the competition was lame it wasn't. Up here in New England we have the NESC which is the most competitive organization in this area of the country and back then we had guys like Joe Waddington, Pat Barton, Jimmy Meenhan, David Rudnicki, Doug Henry, Todd Richotte and at least a half dozen more guys who were the second fastest guys in the country right behind the guys in the AMA motocross nationals. How Jojo could make that little bike go that fast I'll never know, but there he was, riding on the red line all the way around the track. Sure, he'd get beat once in a while by guys like John Dowd and Waddington, but for the most part, if Jojo showed up, most of the guys knew they were racing for second place. And if Jojo couldn't beat you with speed, he wouldn't hesitate to give guys a real good hard block pass or just go for their leg altogether. He was an absolute beast on that bike, and his level of aggression was unmatched. But yeah, Jojo made that little bike fly.

Love this channel really entertaining. One of my biggest regrets is giving up motocross years ago to buy a house and have kids don't regret having kids for 1 second buy I'm 46 now and dying to get back into motocross. I don't mean to be a dick but the only thing I don't like bout this channel is the dollar thing and not pounds I don't get it? I actually thought the channel was American when I first watched! I'm a bit pissed probably wouldn't of written this otherwise! 😂

We understand Jamie, its because although we are based in the UK our biggest audience is in the USA so we always get a bit of stick from both sides lol.. if we say a Yamaha YZed our american friends always put us straight that it should be Yzee! The main thing is you enjoy the content. We really do appreciate all our viewers & subscribers all over the world. There would be no point of it all with you all :)

I love this story it's awesome he lost all that weight. But I just want to know why does every rider just move out of the way when he yells at them. Is it not a race. Don't you have to make the pass not be given it.
