Can 90 Days of Journaling Change Your Life?

There are so many reported benefits of journaling, but can it really change your life? I journaled for 90 days to see if it's as great as everyone says it is and to see if it's overhyped.
A few of the different journaling techniques I tried:
- Morning Pages
- Gratitude Journaling
- Dream Journaling
- Journal Prompts
- Freestyle

I was always afraid of putting my thoughts onto paper because that someday someone would find them and read them. I find that when I journal, I write about things that I don't want to forget, so I write things as I remember them. For example, if someone in my family died I would write down everything that I could remember about that person so that I wouldn't forget.

I relate to this so much! I think part of why I liked using a spiral notebook for morning pages was because I'd feel more comfortable throwing it away if that's what I ended up wanting to do. But when there are memories or experiences I want to capture, I've always put them in a different journal so I could look back on what I wrote. And I"m SO glad I did.

Always refreshing to see others take their stab into journaling. After seeing your video a few times, I am left with the following: 1- Journaling is a long term journey. Writing is a process that can surely take more than just one lifetime. 2- Morning pages? BLAHHHH... sooo overrated and a sure way to kill journaling. I think it's a common trap for many and I don't advocate for it. 3- The ebb and flow of journaling (good days, bad days, meh days) is all apart of the process and journey. So surely, looking back you'll value it all. Allowing the unique ability to see the rarest perspective, your very own without all the curtains and distractions. If given enough time to view it from a larger distance... 4- Journaling is so ambiguously designed that it should closely be related to philosophy. As the volatility of subjectivity about journaling will never be settled. Yet here is the biggest gift of all. A common ground where we can all come to and relate. 5- You made a killer point: the relationship building of yourself. the most important relationship to have. 6- I hope you give journaling more time to develop. Like most simple things, the rewards will surely out weight the investment. Thank you for sharing! Cheers!

I love buying journals more than writing in the journal. But oh do I desperately want to be a journaler!

I've been journaling since 1975 where it started as a English class assignment. My experience is very much like yours. Glad someone thinks like me.😊

For me it`s kinda of interesting to see how people get into journaling. Because I never really thought about it. I started journaling when I was 8 years old and never stopped. I have 20 completed journals and never really thought about HOW I am doing it. I just ... did it. But it`s so cool to see how other people get into it!

That’s so true! Buy the cheapest notebook 📒 that way you can scratch out stuff and not feel precious about it. I’ve found gratitude is a lovely way to express appreciation for everything we have in our life

Thank you for this video, Laura! I, too, have journaled on-and-off for several years, but I stopped late last year as it became something I dreaded and I didn't feel like it was effective for me. I'm inspired to give it another shot! ALSO - 30k+ subscribers! You're doing amazing.

Hi Laura! I have been following your channel for some time. I actually design flat style walking shoes and would be interested in analyzing a pair of your favorite older shoes to see where exactly the wear and tear creates the biggest breakdown. Would you be interested in selling me a pair for analysis? Its not everyday you find someone who walks that much in a single pair for analysis.
