When he recalled the entire game from memory my jaw DROPPED!!!!! Not only can he visualize what's happening in 4 different games at once, but he can remember each move AND keeps track of the amount of turns. Incredibly impressive.

I just realized kurt did this and in the drunk v. high math challenge, Drunk ned simultaneously wrote a love note to Keith and solved a crazy hard math question in his head at the same time... what tf does Yale do to people 😂

when kurt compliments their moves while being totally unable to see, that is the most impressive. when he moves, it almost feels like he could be guessing (I know he isn't but it feels like he could be less oriented) but when he acknowledges their moves as good, it really shows he not only knows all the pieces on all four boards, not only have plans for his pieces for all four boards, but ALSO is keeping track of all of their potential moves, which ones are good, and how he may counter them

Never in a million years would have the Try Guys thought that out of ALL their videos, this would be the one with the most sexual comment section.

Ned played incredibly well - I put the endgame in Stockfish and at no point was he losing (it hovered around equal to +1.0). It was +0.3 when he offered a draw.

@@jigdreldorji5882 Nakamura can defeat 4 Kurt level players blindfolded in a similar simul as in this vid. Grandmaster is a whole different ballgame compared to master, and Nakamura is one of the best grandmasters in the world. But yeah it would be nice to see him enter the chess scene and taking on guys like Nakamura, Eric Rosen, etc, etc.

I really am trying to avoid the Ned comments. I just wanna watch videos in peace and maybe with a little pain. But I agree, I was gonna comment on how you can see the change in his expression: While playing chess he's extremely focused, and not even what's happening next to him can phase him. After the match, he returns to doing exagerated expressions. That's something.

The skills are transferable. Language and music have a lot in common. And memorising squares on a board is similar to learning a song note by note

I love how high the skill ceiling is in chess, Kurt might have bodied four dudes blindfolded, but blindfolded Grandmasters can easily body Kurt, and High level Chess Engines and AI are able to body Grandmasters.

Ned is a smart man, but he had one hidden advantage over Kurt: he's used to ignoring the absolute nonsense from the other three while trying to concentrate.

Joeheart I’m half Chinese and half Mexican and I think it’s really impressive. Yale’s acceptance rate is absolutely insane, for anyone to even get IN Yale is impressive and to graduate is very difficult.
