Apologies for the FPS issues on the recent couple of videos. I spent 8+ hours over the weekend reworking how my entire stream functions. It should all be fixed going forward otherwise I will be very sad and not happy.

That first act 3 boss fight took 53 turns, with a demon form deck.

For real. Part of me is wondering what the creepy $25 giftsub joke was, bc I wanna see what motivated Frost to put his foot down so hard. But at the same time, I understand that the comment was 1) awful and 2) removed because Frost didn't want to be attached to whatever that person said. So I don't blame him for cutting it out.

Hey, i just want to say good content, always love when demon form is out. Btw, i reccomend a new game called as across the obelisk. Its in early access, but its the better Slay the Spire(?). Thank you 😁

I feel like Runic Pyramid was a pretty significant detriment to the deck as the run got later and later. I don't really get why you'd want to ever take it; if you're only playing the best cards out of the ones you draw, eventually you'll end up with your hand full of your worst cards. Granted, I don't have as many hours as Frost does, so I'm very likely missing something major here, but I'd much rather have the option to retain 0-2 cards than being forced to keep all of the ones I don't or can't play.

Chat was probably trying to mess with him cause of power through. But as ironclad, filling up your hand with your fodder cards and then fiend firing them is a good move. And depending on what type of deck you are going for, it lets you hold the bad cards so you dont then end up redrawing your bad cards and can keep chaining the good cards. Also if you have a deck that goes infinite it is like the best way to let you go infinite without being down to like 3 cards

@@firstnamelastname5310 I mean, since it is a boss relic, it's probably fine that its main benefit is a rare card, and I also know how difficult it is to get a deck small enough to do an infinite normally, but I don't think those situations occur often enough for me personally to find much use out of them. Infinites also aren't good against Time Eater or the Heart, though I wouldn't call them bad either. Funnily enough, if you can prune your deck down far enough to have just good defences and your combo, then Pyramid actually helps with your survivability. But Ironclad isn't all that good at playing defensively, funnily enough. I'd actually go as far as to say that he's the worst at it out of the four, but likely not by too much.

Dunno if you ever changed your mind on it, but basically Runic Pyramid is good because it gives you a lot more control over what cards you have on a given turn. It's especially crazy in fights that have a really strict pattern of attacks, and it gives you a really consistent way of not getting screwed over because you drew a card before you needed it in a fight. For example, take the Reptomancer fight. Turn 1, I draw Panic Button, Whirlwind, two Defends, and a Strike. Now, I'm gonna be taking some damage this turn, and the Reptomancer is gonna summon some more guys who'll attack next turn, *and* I have to worry about a massive attack incoming more often than not. Normally, I'd probably take a ton of damage or just outright lose here because my two answers to this fight- Panic Button and Whirlwind- are in my opening hand, so I can't actually play them on turns when it would be good to do so. But if I have Runic Pyramid, I can plan to play the two Defends this turn to minimize the damage I take, play the Strike to chip the Reptomancer a bit, and then save the Panic Button and Whirlwind for the following turns when they're actually useful. My next turn no longer has the chance to have useless draws because I already know what that turn looks like. But wait, there's more! Because I know I'm *probably* playing Whirlwind next turn to take out all of the daggers, any cards I draw next turn actually allow me to plan my 3rd or even 4th turns in advance using the same method, meaning Runic Pyramid often gains utility as a fight goes on and you see more of your deck. You can even use it to avoid drawing statuses or curses by deliberately clogging your hand on a turn when you don't really need to play that many cards! It also helps if you think of every card as being neither good nor bad, only situational. Even the cards that usually suck (like the watcher's Alpha, or the Silent's Grand Finale), usually have specific conditions which make them good. Runic Pyramid allows you to hit those conditions more consistently, and allows you to use cards that are more consistently strong at the best possible time to do so. Mm. Also, if you don't mind your run taking 3 hours, it kind of automatically wins you the run when you get Frozen Eye, as now you can see exactly when you will get a card and how many cards you will have to play to get it. This means you can sometimes perfectly plan out an entire combat before you play a single card.

Slay the streamer this would be true, but in a real run it’s great because chances are… if your playing good, you shouldn’t have many “bad cards” in your deck, the reason they are bad is because they are responses to different situations… ie blocking attacking or needing set up first… runic pyramid makes it so you will guaranteed have the cards when you draw the set up, or block when you need them later… as long as you have the energy to play the cards and or built the deck decent it shouldn’t be a negative often… that being said in slay the spire where they are actively over filling your deck with anti synergy cards it will usually be bad

Store guarantees no bad outcome. at high Ascension, you get the Unfavorable Events modifier, which makes events a net negative overall, with a few fortunate outliers on occasion.
