Camping at Sleepy Hollow State Park Michigan

This is my first ever attempt at doing a camping video....sorry if it's not that great. This an experimental endeavor. The camp site was pretty nice and fairly quiet. It was an absolutely perfect couple of days!
Please check it out and let me know what you think....

Excellent video. A new favorite. I live in Texas where it's in the 80s at night. The campground sounds were so different there.

Thank you Sir, I do appreciate that. I hope to do another trip to camp on Lake Michigan next week....80s at night....wow, that is a bit intense! I suppose every place has its own beauty and uniqueness. I'm sure it's like that in Texas as well. Have a great day!

My home state ! Get over to the great lakes your jaw will drop. Have a great time I will be up on the west coast Lake Michigan side in a month. Boyne City and Charlevoix Michigan. Now that's my choice.

I'm glad you had a quiet night. I camped at proud lake near wixom a few years ago after bicycling in from Westland, I couldn't believe the amount of raccoons I had to fend off through the night, they attacked the tent , they attacked my bike panniers trying to get into the zipped up bags. Nothing deterred those little bandits. Not sure how they felt getting whacked with a bicycle pump but they were a force to be recconed with..

Raccoons.....they are determined, that's for sure. I've rarely seen a raccoon camping in northern Michigan, but yeah closer to home, they seem to be everywhere. We have them right in our own neighborhood here in the D. They've tried to break into our house!

Thank you Mary! Happy to hear the weather is good in New England as well. I have such a desire to get out to Maine, but probably won't happen this year. And yes, campfires are very magical and so relaxing! Have a great day!

@@davidsuniverse108 The state of Maine is my favorite place to go! The ocean and seafood are the best! Ogunquit Maine and Bar Harbor are just absolutely stunning to see!

@@maryalbert6138 Yes, that where I used to go. Basically I'd go from Boston up the coast to Bar Harbor. I've been there probably about 20 times and many trips to Baxter State Park as well. I haven't been back since 2009 however.....I've had a calling to go back for so long. I was planning to go last summer, but my wife, Abbys father became ill with cancer and we had to help care for him so the summer of 2023 and the beginning of this year was a mess. He passed in April. So maybe next year! It is such a beautiful place and I miss the aroma of the ocean so much!

Well Frank....I understand. I was born amongst the concrete and comfort of the city as well. My father would take us camping every once in a while, and I've camped on my own since I was old enough to drive...so almost 50 years...I am comfortable in the forests, but, yes, just like anywhere we have to be cautious. There are strange and dangerous people everywhere. I am going to save your comment and maybe I will talk about this and my experiences in a video in the near future. Thank you sir, have a great day!
